I have a Toyota Venza of year 2011. I have it for last two years or so. The passenger side sun visor failed fell off its support unexpectedly during last week. I think this sun visor has prematurely. I understand that Toyota has recalled some of its vehicles for replacement. On my inquiry to one of the dealers, I was told that Toyota has recalled some of the camry models but not Venza models. Why not Venza models? is that alright let to Venza users suffer?.

On October 20, 2012, my wife came home from work and stated that the brakes were not working properly (I. E. Brake pedal dropped almost to the floor at times and brakes did not engage properly) on our 2010 Toyota Venza and that a message was illuminated in the center console computer system that stated, "brake system failure. Contact your dealership immediately!". I contacted the dealership, informed them that the brakes were not working correctly and of the illuminated message, and was instructed to bring the vehicle into the dealership. I drove the vehicle into the dealership and on the way the brake system occasionally did not engage properly again (2nd time in same day). I managed to cautiously drive to the dealership and inform the dealership that I did not want this vehicle back until they were able to identify the cause of the problem and fix the problem. On the same day, I was informed that the mechanic flushed the brake system, took the vehicle for a test drive, and the vehicle's brake system failed for a third time. I observed the mechanic plug his diagnostic lap top into our vehicle and he was unable to find any stored errors in the computer software (despite the fact the vehicle's brake system failed 3 times on different occasions for 3 different people on the same day). The dealership was unable to identify the cause of the problem, so on October 22, 2012 they contacted Toyota corporate's engineering department for guidance. Corporate instructed the dealership to replace the master cylinder and the abs actuator. The dealership replaced these parts, conducted a test drive, and released this unsafe vehicle to my wife on October 23, 2012 never stating what caused the repeated brake failure. On October 26, 2012, the brake system again and was the cause of an accident. A formal complaint was filed with Toyota corporation and they are denying liability.
My 2009 Toyota Venza has the defective floormat problem which was identified by Toyota months ago and a recall announced. It has been many months since the announcement and my dealer has not received any parts or fix for this safety problem. When I contacted Toyota corporation, their customer service representative informed me that as yet there is no fix available and therefore no recall notices have been sent out and therefore no parts are available. In the meantime I have removed the floormat as suggested by Toyota, but my light carpeting is gradually been ruined and the floormats which I purchased at considerable cost are useless. I feel that the delay in developing and delivering a solution is unreasonable and that the manufacturer should compensate all Toyota owners for this unresponsiveness and prolonging of an unsafe situation.

First highway trip with a brand new 2009 Toyota Venza automatic 4 cylinder awd. Maintained speed limit 100 kilos/hr. Went to pass a semi and gas pedal stuck at 120 kilometers on narrow two way highway with soft shoulders post major snow fall last Friday(normally not speed). Was unable to depress the gas pedal and apply full pressure on brakes. The vehicle did not slow down engine was still racing. Finally was able to put transmission into neutral, still with full brakes barely working with racing engine . Engine smells began, able to wrestle car to gravel shoulder,throw into park and immediately killed engine. Once semi calmed down, tried to inspect gas pedal. Yanked out Toyota manufactured installed rubber mat which had been improperly installed on top of existing factory carpet matt which was clipped in place. Read about this being improper - in car manual while waiting to hear back from dealership for safety instructions given system warning that major brake failure may have also occurred. Carefully did some checks of brakes. Hard pressure on pedal resulted in traction signal reappearing. Soft pressure there was no traction sign. Very cautiously and slowly 90 - 95 kilometers/hr. Continued home on last leg of trip with no passing. Once home, re-inspected gas pedal area and noted a corresponding line indent to where rubber matt may have dug into carpet on right side of gas pedal. Though not a mechanic, deductively, rubber mat improper install may likely have caused gas pedal stick. Rubber mat clearly warned not to install on top of carpet mat ! why dealer did. No idea! why braking system not work while engine raced in drive. . . I have no idea. ! feel very very very lucky to be alive! could have easily ended in death but for my many years of sport car driving with standards transmission, and highway driving skills! marked on the mat "do not install. ".
