The radio navigation system just turns off and resets for no apparent reason it does it st anytime anywhere any speed. It will just stop and restart and if your using navigation you loose your destination, so you have the instinct to try and re input your travel location which causes you to not watch the road. It happens almost every time I drive the car.

On 12/14/2018 I put my hand on the sirius/Toyota radio display and noted the screen was too hot to touch. The radio had been on for about an hour listing to satellite radio. This could be a vary serious safety hazard.

2011 Toyota Venza. Consumer writes in regards to vehicle defective stereo/radio equipment and electrical wiring. The consumer stated as she was driving and listening to the radio, a loud screeching sound emanated from the right rear door speaker. She turned off the radio, but the screeching sound continued. Shortly thereafter, a burning smell filled the entire vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for an inspection, which revealed the amplifier had shorted out internally and caused the speaker to melt.
The contact owns a 2010 Toyota Venza. The contact stated when utilizing the radio during daylight, he was unable to see the stations due to limited illumination. The dealer advised he was unable to repair the vehicle. The manufacturer advised that if he would shut off the headlights, the radio lights would intensify. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 500 and the current mileage was approximately 700.

The dealer replaced the radio but that did not remedy the issue with the temperature of the radio.
