Sunroof shattered while I was on the highway almost injuring me and causing me to get into an accident, no rocks or debris found to cause this. Toyota refuses to take any responsibility for this and I have to fix it myself.

While attempting to cross a busy street, I picked an opening in the coming traffic to cross, released the brake to allow the car to start rolling slowing, but when I pressed the accelerator , I got no response from the car and no acceleration at all for about 3 seconds. Leaving me and my family stuck in the middle of the street with oncoming traffic just seconds away from hitting us. In the 3 seconds span, I tried pressing the accelerator several times until the car finally responded. The car remained on the entire time. No errors or messages were displayed on any of the dashboards at any time. I have seen several similar stories in online forums with this model. Something is wrong and very dangerous.

When the vehicle stability control (vsc) light comes on, it also cuts power to the engine even when the car is moving at full highway speed. This can pose a great danger when crossing bridges or anytime while driving the vehicle in traffic.

Primary control/head unit failure - I can no longer access any of the electronic functions of the vehicle due to the computer screen failure. The back up camera works, but when the vehicle is in drive, it's nothing but a strobing light trying to connect. It's a safety concern most at night due to the constant strobe effect coming across the screen every 3 seconds. It draws your attention from the road and/or gives you the impression that something is coming to hit you from the passenger side. Yes, the vehicle has been inspected and diagnosed by Toyota. Toyota is unwilling to admit their head unit is faulty and want me, the consumer, to pay out of pocket for the parts and the labor. No, the failure happened without warning. One day it was working fine and the next it was frozen and then "dead" with this strobe effect.

I have an issues with the door on drivers side that won't unlock as much as I press the key fob it won't open its 2021 Toyota Venza. I am physically disabled and I unable to stand for long. So that means I have to use my key to unlock my doors and I can't stand for too long I can tired and fall. And Toyota knows of this issues and they refuse to fix and I don't think I should pay for something that they know has a defect. It's not fair.
The rear tailgate is malfunctioning. I was told by dealer it is not covered under any warranty (even extended) this is something that has been reported by others and should be fixed. As well as having to repeatedly hit the lock or unlock buttons to actually work on the car before it works.
The infotainment system has failed. It is the 12. 5 screen-based system that enables the control of numerous features including air conditioning/heating, audio (all radio and satellite radio) and map/gps display. This system is the focus of a recall on this model car (newer versions) but the issue is the same for this year. Not having this display make navigation difficult, control of the cabin environment impossible. I wonder why this year vehicle was not included in the recall. I have ordered a replacement at a cost of $3,300. This began in may of 2025.
The navigation and radio system will cut off and restart that warning. This loses critical settings and distracts drivers from attention to the road. If you’re using navigation, it’s gone if you are listening to instructions from an external source connected to the system, it’s gone. This radio is definitely available for inspection. This is a frequent occurrence on most any trip at any time multiple times per trip. This is definitely a safety hazard, if traveling in heavy traffic and unfamiliar places.
Purchased used from metro Ford on 12-31-2024 with 16,689 miles. Was out of town until March 1 so I did not insure or drive the car until March. I had only driven it a few times before the accident happened. At first I started noticing that the car did not respond immediately when the gas pedal was pressed. I thought it was me being unfamiliar with how the new car worked. On 3-26-2025 I had pulled into a parking space in front of a building and all of a sudden the car surged forward unexpectedly even without me pressing the pedal leading to me crashing through the glass windows into the building. No warning lights were on. The car had two known issue with unintended acceleration and throttle delay yet no recall has been issued. My safety and the safety of 15 others was a risk and the crash did result in injuries. The building was full of students and clients and they were hurt along with major property damage to the building. State farm declared the car was a total loss due to all the damage to my car and we have no idea the amount of damage done to the building. The business had to be closed for repairs and they are still closed. I have filed a product liability claim with Toyota case number 250407002330. Toyota will get with state farm to see if an inspection can be made of the car as I have transferred ownership to state farm as of April 4, 2025. The car was picked up by state farm on April 5, 2025. I just discovered the known issue with the car this weekend so I do not think an inspection was done other than the body shop estimate.
The infotainment system is not consistently working. It is the 12. 5 screen-based system that enables the control of numerous features including air conditioning/heating, audio (all radio and satellite radio), backup camera feed, and map/gps display. I see that there is a recall for this system for some Toyota models, however I have not yet received a notification, and I am assuming that it is because my car is a 2021 model. Not having this display makes navigation difficult (as the screen will just turn off suddenly) and control of the cabin environment impossible (I. E. I struggle turning on the ac/heat as I don't know what the temperature is set to). Why would my vehicle not be included in the recall? what can be done to get this fixed? I view this as a safey concern as all vehicle safety notifications are posted on the screen (which won't work), all of the systems that are controlled from the screen are not available, and the back up camera display won't work at times.
Windshield cracked (apparently from the edge) during highway driving in normal conditions for no clear reason. The windshield has not yet been replaced but replacement is expected to be replaced in the week ending 1/11/25. Crack appears to start on the passenger side of middle, on the lower edge of the windshield. This area is behind the windshield wipers and is shielded by the hood. The crack extended upwards, then turned towards the drivers side. The Toyota dealer that sold the vehicle refused to inspect the damage because they do not work on glass. Toyota brand engagement, the name of the group that responded to a support request expressly stated that glass is not covered under warranty and there is no current recall on this vehicle. They finished their rejection of my request for help with a suggestion that my insurance should be engaged to repair the failure. I have not engaged my insurance carrier on this.
Last year my vehicle rear camera and sensor failed to which caused me to backup into a mailbox. I had brought it up after a car wash at the dealership and they said they didn't know about any recalls at the time. I recently saw the recall for this year and make and would like this to be investigated further. I also have an estimate for the damages that I can provide.

Acceleration or throttle lag. When stopped at a turn, went to press on gas and no acceleration happened. 3-5 seconds later the car accelerated when I pressed on the gas.
Sunroof leaking into front driver & passenger pillars with airbags. Dealership quotes $6k to fix, but they didn’t know where / how it’s leaking!! there are no drain lines in this model, so it’s just a leak into the air bags plain and simple. This is a manufacturer issue- if no drain lines / weep holes, then why do you have to replace a $6k sunroof to fix an $50 seal / gasket? very unsat. Others are having the same issue. Saw 13 others with similar or same issue on NHTSA website…Toyota dealer was charging me $1,000 to look at it and tell me , yeah, there is a leak! thats why I brought it to you! this is the panoramic sunroof model. Very unsafe!.
During the commute on the way home on [xxx] between harrisburg and lebanon PA a stone kicked up in a construction zone and impacted the driver side windshield. At that time there was no visible damage until later in the drive there was a 3in long crack in the driver side line of sight. As the drive continued the crack continued across the line of sight. Over the course of 2 days the crack went from 3inches to halfway across the windshield. The stone crack was no bigger than a size of an eraser on a pencil. I believe this needs investigated just like the 2021 model's with defective windshields. Toyota care (ref [xxx]) was called, they declined my incident. My purchased extended warranty for chips, cracks, dents was also denied because its bigger than 3inches. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
The multimedia display, which shows the gps mapping being sync'd from my phone has a pop up advertisement ""experience drive connect"" for a subscription service. According to multiple dealers this can not be disabled or turned off except by subscribing to Toyota drive connect. So, without a subscription, the multimedia display is disabled since the first screen which is an advertisement can not be removed or disabled in order to utilize the multimedia display. This has created a safety hazard for many posters on Toyotanation forums and other sites. I believe this problem started with the 2023 version of their display and was not present on 2022 or earlier models.
Spontaneous windshield crack that has slowly spread across entire windshield. Driving with no vehicles around and crack just appeared. Windshield is defective.
Adding to the many complaints about the '21 Venza windshield and the safety issues presented by the easy cracking of the front windshield.
On two separate occasions, my brand new car hesitated to accelerate from a dead stop despite my foot depressing the gas pedal completely. This is incredibly alarming.
Vehicle parked safe place. When I returned to the vehicle windscreen at a large crack.
My horn no longer works. My mechanic informed me that it is the part that sits behind the airbag in the steering wheel. I was also informed that this happens to a lot of Toyota's. It is very expensive to repair and have not had it repaired. Since it is a common problem, does this issue fall under a recall? I don't feel safe driving without a horn. You don't realize how often you need/use it until you can't.

Front windshield randomly cracked, with number and size of cracks growing as vehicle is driven. Cracked windshield is not a result of any rocks or debris strikes.
Grinding noise turning right at slow braking speeds.
Recently while driving on sunrise highway in longisland newyork I got multiple hits by bolder, one bolder made a crack which is almost 18 inches now and increasing.
Water leaks and streams from along the top, driver’s side, just above the window where the felt meets and connects to the hard plastic structure labeled, “abs curtain airbag”, water, drips from the top ceiling just below the pull down mirror on the driver side. * see attached pictures I love my 2009 Venza. Please fix this problem for me. Thank you so much for any consideration given my request.

I am trying to locate any information and updates on my second key fob that was not received at the time of the purchase of my car. Every month I talk with Toyota they say by the end of this month you should receive your letter, so the end of the month passes and I reach out to Toyota and they state it was pushed back to the end of this month and so on. I am getting very upset especially when you purchase a $50,000. 00 automobile. I can't find any discussions on the Venza key fob shortage but there are discussions on every other model of Toyota. I am leaving on a 7 week trip and god forbid something happens to my one and only key what am I going to do then?.
Winsheild cracked out of no where. Driving on i95.
There is an acceleration issue that only happens sporadically. From a stopped position (stop sign/stop light) when I let go of the break and start acceleration with the gas pedal, it doesn't work. Even if I press down more in the gas pedal, it merely creeps- as if it were in neutral. It happens with turns or going straight. I have no clue what could be causing it. The breaks still work, and the gas pedal starts working again after about approx 10 or 15 ft of rolling. When the gas begins working again its a smooth engagement- no jarring or revving. And it only happens sporadically, maybe 8 times since I bought it in 2022. I have had it looked over at the dealership twice and they found nothing and are not willing to fix this issue- as they say there isn't one. I worry greatly that this will result in a crash.
The door lock actuators have all systematically failed on the car, so I can lock the doors manually, but anytime an electrical signal is sent to the lock (key fob, putting the car in drive, etc), the door locks do not operate. It is my understanding this is a known problem by Toyota across many SUV models. I have left my car unlocked on many occassions "thinking" it is locked, and I don't like driving with passengers in the car due to the safety issue of being able to open a door while the car is in motion when I "think" it is locked.
When I open the driver's side when car running, the check srs airbag system warning light comes on. It also comes on if I start car with door open.

On Dec. 17, 2023, shortly after 12:00 p. M. ,I was driving my Toyota Venza on the highway under normal when the steering knuckle suddenly fractured. This unexpected failure caused the vehicle to lose steering control, leading to a serious traffic accident. I inspected that part and found that the steerin knuckle had broken abnormally, as the break showed no signs of any impact.

My windshield cracked and was replaced twice for some unknown reason. First in 2021 and now 2023.
I was parking my car in a parking lot very slowly (1 mile/hr, or less). My foot was on the break paddle, and I just turned into a parking spot. Suddenly, I heard huge acceleration noise and the car surged forward so rapidly, so powerfully on its own, and totally lost control. Then the break did not work at all. There are bushes in front of the parking spot and it is on top of a retaining wall with side walk road below. The crazy lost controlled car run through the bushes and jumped down from the top of the retaining way onto the side walk road. It hit the railing of the side road and then slowed down. I then gained the control of the car as the break back to work. The car is badly damaged and several parts falling down when it jump down the retaining wall. It was so terrified and I though I will die. And if someone was walk in the side road at that moment, they will be killed. I am still shaking when think about what was happen. Luckily, no one was there. I bought the car in Jan. 2022, brand new, only 8 miles used. Now it has around 14,000 miles on it. *** in sept. 2022, someone also posted very similar incidence for Toyota 2021 Venza in toyatonation. Com discussion starter • #1 • Sep 3, 2022 soshima has this happened to anyone else who owns a 2021 Venza? as I was slowly pulling in (going about 2 miles or less) to a perpendicular parking spot at my apartment complex, I took my foot off the accelerator, all the sudden my car lunged forward and rapidly accelerated forward on its own. It was completely terrifying to have the car take over. The car jumped the curb and went down a hill and I crashed head on into a two story garage at my apt complex. I saw a "malfunction" on the dashboard and the air bags did not deploy. I injured my back, neck and right arm. My car that only has 9k miles on it, was completely totaled. Toyota's product liability dept - 3rd party engineers inspected the electronic data recorder. And car I'm awaiting the final report from Toyota.
