Front Air Bag Problems of Volkswagen Jetta - part 1

The battery current was low in my 2006 Volkswagen Jetta and it caused a fault code. The dealer is saying 3,500 dollars to fix this. The fault code is making my airbags not work.

2000 Volkswagen Jetta I rearended a car at 40 mph my front bumper is hanging off and seatbelts did not work. The contact owns a 2007 Volkswagen Jetta. While driving approximately 45 mph over railroad tracks, the contact heard a sudden loud noise. Steering wheel is failing electrically. Air bag fault in passenger side, no horn or other wheel controls. Real/unrealized safety hazard(s) due to non working electronics in steering wheel.

I was involved in a side crash and the driver air bag, dash airbag and passenger air bag all deployed. The dashboard airbag deployed with such force, it broke the rear view mirror off of the windshield and crushed my hand between it and the driver airbag, which broke all the bones in my hand and I had to have pins placed in my hand.

I was making a left hand turn and for no reason whatsoever the driver and passenger airbags deployed. Following the deployment of the airbags, my hands were thrown off the steering wheel, causing me to lose control of the vehicle. The vehicle then proceded to go straight up onto a curb causing the entire passenger side of the vehicle to be damaged. The car was not drivable.

Motor vehicle accident in residential area with moving 2003 vw Jetta and parked Honda/Toyota? driver of Jetta came around the corner, looked down & away from the road momentarilly while driving apx. 30 mph when she hit the other vehicle without any breaking. This full frontal impact and the entire front end of this Jetta was taken out and the other vehicle was totaled. None of the 4 airbags deployed. We are currently being told "no changes or alterations will be made with regard to the airbags".

While driving 65-70 mph both frontal air bags inadvertently deployed. Vehicle is at the dealer.

While driving 60 mph front air bags deployed without warning. Dealership was notified, but did not resolve the problem.

While driving at 45 mph, the vehicle was involved in a frontal collision and none of the front air bags deployed upon impact. Vw suggested that nothing was wrong with the air bags upon inspection.

Consumer stated air bag cover shook while vehicle was in motion. Dealer indicated that it was normal.

While driving. 70-75 mph air bag deployed with no warning. There was no accident. Took vehicle to Volkswagen. Was told that it was the consumer's fault.

Airbag unit light came on for a third time. Vehicle was taken to the dealer on two occasions for repairs.

While driving 20 mph front air bags including the side impact air bags inadvertently deployed. Consumer managed to pull over, and had the vehicle towed. Dealership was notified, but did not resolve the problem. Water was on the floor due to a leaking sunroof.

While backing out of a driveway driver's frontal air bag deployed. Manufacturer offered to buy the vehicle.

While driving between 65 and 70 mph and without any warning front and window passenger air bags deployed. Dealer notified.

While driving 25 mph and rolling over a small pothole airbag deployed inadvertently.

While traveling about 50mph on the highway without prior another vehicle made a sudden stop and the vehicle in front caused a chain of reaction. Please provide additional information dealer is aware of the problem. Ts.

I was driving in downtown boston in a construction area traveling about 10-15 mph, when my airbags deployed. I contacted vw, they told me it was an accident that I hit something and that I would have to go through my insurance. I did not hit anything as there was no physical damage to my vehicle. I don't know the exact date, I would have to look it up in my records as it happened 4 years ago.

This is the fifth time the vehicle has been in for an airbag fault problem with the tension set to high in the airbag. Vwoa has not been able to appropriately fix the problem and is putting me at risk due to airbag not working correctly. The airbag unit now needs to be replaced, but vwoa does not know what is the root cause of the problem which is a major safety concern for those with the problem. Royal motors is the dealer that the vechicle is currently being worked on. The vehicle has also been to dublin motors in dublin, CA and loeber motors in chicago, IL.

I had a car accident. A car hit me on my left side and the airbag didnt pop out then I hit to other cars because I lost control of the vehicle and in non of the hits any air bags in the front pop out either.

I lost control of my vehicle and struck a tree on the drivers side door. Door deformation was severe and none of the four airbags went off. Because of the blunt trauma to my chest and lower body, I suffered a collapsed left lung, a ruptured spleen, a broken scapula, four fractured ribs and a shattered pelvis. My wife who was in the passenger recieved a fractured collarbone because of the force of me colliding into her. I was in intensive care for a week and in critical conditon for four days, my left lung was 70% filled with blood and I recieved two chest tubes as well as my ruptured spleen was removed. I have not recieved all of my bills yet and allready all of these procedures are going to cost over $100k.

Consumer was traveling on highway and another vehicle made an illegal u turn in middle of highway. Consumer was trying to avoid hitting other vehicle by swerving. Instead, she hit center of vehicle. Upon impact, dual airsbags didn't deploy. Dealership was aware of problem.

My automobile was involved in a driver side impact from another vehicle driving at 30 mph, my auto was throwen aproximately 50 feet into a wall hitting the front of the car and the right rear quarter. My forward speed was aproximately 30 mph at time of impact. Zero airbags deployed. Caused injuries to myself from non-deployment of airbags.

My vehicle was broadsided on the drivers side, vehicle thrown into a wall50' away. Vehicle sustained major damage to front left side door/ front left wheel assembly/ front right side/ rear right side and trunk areas received major damages.
