10/21/2020 - I was driving on the freeway in stop & go traffic when I went to go again the car just revved but did not go under power. The hybrid light came on & the gear indicator started to flash. I was able to pull to the side of the road safely & tried to put it in reverse & also tried to use the manual shifting option to see if that would work, again no movement. Had it towed to a local shop that works on Volkswagens & audis. Upon unloading the vehicle off of the tow truck I noticed fresh fluid on the bed of the truck toward the drivers side front. I did not think anything of it because when I pulled off of the freeway I did not see any fluids leaking from the vehicle. 10/22/2020 - the shop pulled a code that indicated low pressure in the transmission. He mentioned a recall that came up of 34j6. I told them that after dropping the vehicle the night before that I lifted the hood and saw what looked like some sort of fluid spray near the drivers side front. I called vw care hotline and asked about 34j6 recall, my car is not part of that recall 10/26/2020 - the shop called to let me know that they did a visual inspection & they found the cover for the mechatronic unit lifted off and even pulled over 2 bolts that hold it onto the transmission. He said based on that he mentioned recall 34j6 & that a vw dealer should do the work. Had the car towed to hansel vw in santa rosa, CA. Met the car at the dealership to have them write a diagnosis work order, roughly up to $400 to diagnose what happened 10/28/2020 - hansel's service advisor called to let me know that the cover of the m. U. Had pulled away & that something internal happened. The advisor or the technicican called vw America to inquire about replacing the m. U. Only to be told it would require a full transmission replacement. Waiting on an estimate from them on a new transmission.

My wiring harness was replaced as my car was in limp mode. 2 and half weeks later my light comes back on and after driving it to work one day it didn't feel right so I had it towed. At time of towing noticed I was leaking fluid. Turns out it was transmission fluid and I need a new transmission on a 5 year old car. This car has had 3 electrical problems and only one was a recall but each problem but the car in limp mode cause the transmission not to shift properly.

I brought my 2019 vw Jetta r-line into the dealership for the 10000 mile service at 9471 miles. The dealership identified a "stage 3" transmission fluid leak, apparently the worst stage based on quantity and location of fluid. Minor shift issues noted during driving prior, but none isolated to specific speeds, gears, or driving mode.

1. 1800 miles-transmission fluid leak, the service people told me it was a known problem with 2019 Jettas, repair took 2 months 2. Heater doesn't blow out warm air when traveling under 40 mph, even after 18 miles of driving 3. Grinding/croaking noise like a frog at 28-30 mph and again at 40 mph 4. Brakes squeak 5. Trunk falls on my head unless I push it all the way up per owners manual addendum.
First, trunk of the car. It's unsafe and doesn't lock unless u overextend it open. I have been hit in my head twice before I learned my lesson. Second, transmission. It makes a grinding noise when operated at slower speeds. I am reaching 9,500 miles and noise is still there since day one. Three, the engine. I believe there is a internal defect because today I was driving a the engine oil light came on. Once I checked the oil I saw that the dipstick was clean, no oil, nada. Where has all the oil gone on a new 2019 Jetta? it sure hasn't been leaking on the ground of my garage because there is no fluids.
Left work and barely made it out of the parking lot when the car made a clunk and lurched in d but would not go. Large indicator light came on, put car in p, waited and then back to d. Still would not drive. Turned it off and waited a minute or two. Was able to restart and drive to parking lot. Large light was out but check engine came on. Lots of transmission fluid leaked while waiting for tow truck. My VIN not in recall. 😡.

While recently driving the vehicle the gear indicator in the instrument panel began to flash and then disappeared, no longer revealing what gear the car was in while in forward motion, and car began to lose momentum while driving and began sounding anf moving as though the car was placed in neutral. Upon stopping the car and again attempting to drive forward, the car engine revved as though in neutral. Had car towed to dealer where they drove it and mentioned the wiring harness leaking oil/fluid. I have had this car at the dealer 4 times within a 6 month period (may-Nov 2016) for preventative maintenance, as I keep this car in excellent condition and have it checked throughout the year to prevent issues from occurrring. During all these times I had no issues until now, as again, I work very hard to maintain this vehicle. I ahev since done much research on this matter and have had an opportunity to speak with other vw owners who have expressed having very similiar issues which falls in line with the issued recall announced August 20. 2009. I have records of all service I have had done for this automobile since it''s purchase. I can either mail or fax the information to you for review. Thank you!.

My Jetta has been leaking transmission fluid. I was searching to see what gear oil is needed for my car as I would like to fill it back up to the appropriate level and a recall showed up about an o-ring between the transmission and the oil cooler. My car was not listed in this recall, however my car is still leaking transmission fluid at this time. On another subject my fuel pump seems to run for awhile after I shut the car off. I took it to a vw dealership and they stated it was fine. Still a bit of a worry as sometimes it runs for up to 3 minutes after.
Engine light came on, I had my mechanic do a 120,000 mile service and diagnose the dash engine light and the intake manifold was replaced. When I picked the car up I smelled diesel. I drove it 13 miles, when I got home I smelled diesel again. I opened the hood and there was diesel all over the left engine side. There was a wet, split fuel line, leaking fluid in the parking lot, a blue plastic set small rings (like the olympic symbol) sat near the split hose. It could have caused a fire, and other cars to be in danger from slick road, among other things.

The contact owns a 2005 Volkswagen Jetta. On April 25, 2008, while driving 35 mph, the contact shifted the clutch into third gear, but the clutch never shifted back into position. She pulled the vehicle over and had it towed to the dealer. The dealer stated that the pin for the clutch assembly chaffered and failed. Prior to the failure, the contact smelled a burning odor coming from the engine. The dealer stated that the transmission fluid was leaking. The failure was repaired, but the contact wonders if the two failures are related. The vehicle is currently at the dealer for repair. The failure mileage was 49,210.

2001 vw Jetta tdi - total transmission failure @ 68,000 miles. Warranty was up at 50k. Vw stated they could not do anything about it, except charge me $3800 for a factory referbed transmition (part only). 68,000 miles on this car would be considered a good break in milage not an oops you got to replace the transmition. I am very unsatisfied that vw will not stand behind there product even though it is out of warranty. 68,000 miles on a totally sealed transmition. Not even a dip stick to check fluids. No leaks were present, no warrning signs, just instant failure. First and last vw for me. Consumers be azware!!!!!.
