Passenger side rear door molding has warped twice now and first replacement done months after lease inception, having been told it's not under warranty by potamkin vw in manhattan, NY. Called vw and potamkin about second warping on replaced molding, only to be told that I must have hit it and that I pulled it off (which I did to keep it from further scratching the front door). . . Just read zillions of complaints on the web about the same issue with the car, some citing that it could be door's alignment and others that it could be molding alignment. . . Don't know, but neither dealer nor vw customer service cooperating.

The right rear door has become misaligned. It does not shut solid and it sticks out about an 1/8 of an inch when the door is closed.

Outside door handles of both front doors do not work. Rear door handles must be pulled hard to work. Driver's door handle works only if windows are lowered significantly, but not all the way. During this car entry process, I also discovered that right rear window will go back up when I turn the headlights on. Driver's door handle pin was reinstalled by dealer 4/18/2002, but it failed again 2 months later. Passenger door handle failed on 10/31/2002. It does not respond to the lowered windows. Dt.

Complete shut down of electrical system while the car is being driven resulting in complete loss of power and limited control of the car. A search of the web indicates this is not an isolated occurance. Volkswagen customer service is non existent. As for the door handle and window problem, again this is not an isolated incident. So far no one has lost their life at least in our case. M.

Rt front passsenger door does not close securely. I will be bringing the car into the dealer for the 3rd time to look into the problem.

Consumer stated the passenger door lock no longer worked from the remote, drivers door switch or the key, the door could not be opened from the inside, and also unable to lock all doors with the master lock button.

The door handle has broken 4 times and I really feel this is a problem.

All doors at 32 degrees and below intermitently will not stay closed/ instrument panel intermitently would not show milage 1 year ago but now the instrument cluster including speed,feul level, and tach do no work at all.
