We have a 2002 1. 8l Passat that was affected by the defective coils in the 2003/2004 recall. Now less than 5 years later, 2 coils failed at once with complete loss of power and all 4 need to be replaced. Luckily we were driving were we could safely get out of traffic but if it had happened on the highway, we could have been killed. I wonder if the replacement coils were also defective.
