36 Suspension problem of the 2013 Volkswagen Passat

Failure Date: 05/13/2013

I have taken this vehicle into the dealership 3 times since original purchase for concerns with the suspension. At normal operating speeds, the car will pull to the right very quickly on a straight road. At 65+ mph, any road changes force the car to jump lanes. It feels like driving a boat in rough water. I was told each time that everything is in spec. The car will lurch off the shoulder during turns that have any minor rough patches at all. This has gotten to the point now where we cannot operate the car safely.

37 Suspension problem of the 2010 Volkswagen Passat

Failure Date: 04/10/2013

My wife bought a 2008 touareg from a local dealer with about 16,000 miles on it and she seldom drives the vehicle (to and from work). After about 3 or 4k miles the tires began to make alot of noise. I noted feathering/cupping only on the inside rear tires. The tires with new ones and after about 8,000 miles (w/rotations) the rear tires began to feather?cup again. I have a 2010 Passat that has the same exact problem. When the tires begin to feather/cup the noise sounds like snow tires. This is the rear tires only and on the inside tread. I can't rotate the tires cause when you do, it sounds like one is running on all flat tires. I checked the web and there is thousands of complaints about this problem and of course vw denies any wrongdoing. I believe its a rear gear-box, or axle problem. I have spoke to many vw owners 07 thru 2010 and most have the same problem, while only a few do not. I believe a recall is on order. Vw engineers should be ashamed for allowing this defect to leave their factories and volks wagen to you I say. . Not built to last!.

Hoy foxvw not admitting that may have put the new oil filter to tight to cause to breakdown after having the oil change on 28aug08/29aug08 for other neglected maintenance. Please look into this matter I'm sure it's not just my vehicle they trying to assume because it just had went out warranty. The engine oil cooler was damaged and bursted when put on at hoy-fox vw by a vw technician after putting the oil filter on entirely to tight. Leaked in yard and I was not aware of it and the spilled out all over the ground at a high temperature vehicle (overheated) which make it hard for me stop while drive because of the slickness of mixture between the coolant and oil. Almost ran off the road but ended up shifting to neutral and letting coast over to median.

45 Suspension problem of the 2006 Volkswagen Passat

Failure Date: 05/25/2006

2006 vw Passat 3. 6 two weeks ago a noise appeared quite suddenly. Originally thought the car in front of me had a bad muffler. Noise coming from front, right of car. Almost sounded like a baseball card in your bike spokes but louder and deeper. Starts at around 50 mph. Tone and speed of sound decreases as speed of car decreases but otherwise stays constant. Disappears when you take your foot off gas. Took it to carter vw. They heard sound. Told me that air pressure in front, right tire was at max and so they let some air out and that "fixed" the problem. It did not. Since I had not had the tire pressure changed since I bought the car in Nov - I found it hard to believe that would fix that problem and told them that. Will take it to chaplins vw, which is much closer to home.
