1 Wiper problem of the 2025 Volvo XC60

Failure Date: 08/25/2025

The 360 camera system stopped working on my 2025 Volvo Xc60 phev today without warning. When I put the vehicle in reverse, the camera view window showed up on the screen with a top down of the vehicle, but the surroundings were black and each camera symbol showed up as orange with a cross out through it. Rebooting the system twice did not solve the issue. The software version is 3. 7. 0 which is the most up to date release.

2 Wiper problem of the 2025 Volvo XC60

Failure Date: 08/15/2025

My 2025 Volvo Xc60 plug-in hybrid ultimate package was built with laminated rear passenger windows. The car is less than one-year old and both rear passenger windows are very cloudy (see attached), obstructing the vision of the driver in situations such as when changing lanes or parking. This could easily contribute to an accident on the highway or endanger children or pets in driveway conditions. The occurrence of this defect can be found in multiple social media posts and appears to be limited to the Xc60 model with the ultimate package. My Volvo dealer agreed that both windows have significant cloudiness during my August 2025 service visit. Even after submitting photos of the cloudiness, Volvo corporate, while acknowledging the condition, refuses to remedy the defect.

4 Wiper problem of the 2025 Volvo XC60

Failure Date: 06/25/2025

On 6/24/25 warning given that rear camera — actually all cameras — were unavailable. Cameras remained unavailable for several hours, when they “magically” came back on. 6/24/25 — radio sound disappeared. Only returned after a hard reset of the center infotainment system. 6/25/25 — another warning that cameras were unavailable, but as quickly as it flashed on, it went off, and cameras were available. 6/25/25 — entire infotainment center and air handling/ac system went black while I was driving. Center re-set itself while I was driving. Warning light that cameras were unavailable also flashed on then off. 6/25/25 — vehicle, which was only purchased on 6/18/25, was picked up by dealer for investigation. 6/26/25 — told that problems are known by Volvo, apparently related to a software update instituted after a 3/25 recall for same problem, and that multiple vehicles are reporting same and continued issue. Software updated is “promised” but date undetermined.

5 Wiper problem of the 2025 Volvo XC60

Failure Date: 05/01/2025

The rear side windows on my 2025 Volvo Xc60 b5 plus awd exhibit a persistent “smoky” or hazy appearance when viewed through the rearview mirror or directly from inside the cabin. The issue is most noticeable during daytime when light hits the glass at an angle, or at night when headlights from other vehicles shine through the rear windows. The affected glass appears to have a bluish or foggy tint that creates a distorted or “cold” appearance, reducing rearward visibility. This appears to be a defect with the window glass itself—possibly related to factory tinting, lamination, or an optical coating. The windows are original and available for inspection upon request. Safety risk: this visual distortion significantly impairs rear visibility, especially when relying on mirrors at night or during lane changes. It compromises safe operation of the vehicle by creating unclear visual cues. Passengers and other road users are at risk due to reduced driver awareness of approaching vehicles or obstacles. Dealer confirmation: I have not yet received formal acknowledgment or confirmation from the dealership, but I plan to raise the issue at my next service appointment. Online forums and other owner reports suggest this is a known issue affecting multiple recent Volvo models. Inspection: the vehicle has not yet been inspected for this issue by Volvo, police, or insurance representatives. I am willing to make the vehicle available for inspection. Warning messages: there were no warning lamps or dashboard alerts associated with this issue. The condition was present from the time of delivery and has not worsened but remains consistently visible.

Both my rear windows have a haze on them, which interferes with my visibility in direct sun.

9 Wiper problem of the 2014 Volvo XC60

Failure Date: 07/25/2024

When I purchased my 2014 Volvo xc 60 I was told that it was in good overall condition and believe that after driving it for the vehicle in full and brought it back because it needed a current inspection. Within four days of taking it home after the inspection, the pcv valve went bad and I had a minor leak in the middle center top of the windshield that dripped in and left watermarks on my headliner. So again I called the dealer and explained to them what was going on. I took it back they corrected the pcv valve and said that they had my windshield repaired and sealed by a professional windshield installer. Once again, I picked up my new car and I went home with it. The first rainstorm we got the inside of my car was flooded to the point where it shorted out my sunroof switch so now I can use my sunroof and there is mildew smell all through my car , floorboard on the driver side side gets soaked along with everything else from about the center all the way to the left and down the side of the windshield I feel that more than half of that windshield is not secured properly in there and sealed and could lead to serious injury to myself or possibly someone else. I have reached out to them several times and after I picked it up when they stated everything was fixed and good to go, it was nothing but a nightmare my car has a massive leaking windshield around more than 50% of it at least. I contacted the auto dealer once again and explained what was going on and how severe the situation had become. The service manager assured me that they work on the windshield was guaranteed and under warranty and he had a switch on hand to replace my control switch for my sunroof and that he would contact their windshield guy and get him back there to make it right at no cost to me. In addition he said he would also supply me the loaner so I would not be without a car until mine was definitely fixed and ready, that was the last I heard from them and that was almost 3 weeks ago.

Water enters from the front of the windshield while driving.

14 Wiper problem of the 2013 Volvo XC60

Failure Date: 11/13/2023

The windshield leaks when I am driving from the passenger side and the driver side. Last rain a lot of water got into the car which makes it very dangerous to drive and obviously to break since it gets slippery. I live in the mountains, and we get a lot of rain and now I have to pay out of pocket to get it diagnosed when even the service advisor said that that particular year and models leaks a lot.

15 Wiper problem of the 2010 Volvo XC60

19 Wiper problem of the 2013 Volvo XC60

Failure Date: 06/07/2023

Several ounces of water leaking onto drivers hands on steering wheel from top of windshield when braking in adverse weather conditions is a severe and dangerous distraction to driving and braking. Condition first noticed in first heavy rain storm soon after using drive-through car wash, and persisted and worsened steadily thereafter. This condition is particularly dangerous as it occurs only when driver attempts to slow the vehicle at an intersection, and water in the roof flows forward into, and fills, the cavity that contains the top edge of the windshield with a large quantity of water which then flows onto the driver's hands and lap with no warning. Dealer is aware of defective windshield seals common to this year and model but will not assume repair beyond warranty period.

20 Wiper problem of the 2023 Volvo XC60

Failure Date: 02/16/2023

I am writing to address a recurring safety issue with my 2023 Volvo Xc60 b5 awd related to the windshield wipers. I believe this issue poses a serious safety risk. Specifically, when snow accumulates in the area where the wiper arms retract—hidden behind the hood for aerodynamic and stylistic reasons—the wipers stop functioning until the snow is cleared. This has happened to me twice during the winter of 2022-2023 and once during the winter of 2023-2024. While driving in heavy snow, the wipers would suddenly cease movement when sufficient snow accumulated in that “well”. There were no warning lights of any kind. This was sometimes triggered by braking, which caused snow to slide off the roof into that area. Once the snow accumulates to a certain level, the wipers become inoperable, resulting in zero visibility. This situation demands immediate action, regardless of my surroundings. Fortunately, on all occasions, I was on quiet roads, allowing me to stop safely. However, during the first incident, I was caught off guard and collided with a snowbank at low speed, causing no damage. Clearing the snow from the wiper well is not straightforward. The wiper arms must be placed in service mode to access that area, but they will not do so once they have stopped functioning. After the initial incidents in 2022-2023, I took my vehicle to the dealer, who evaluated the issue and “reset” the wipers. Unfortunately, this was after the snow season, so I couldn't determine if it made a difference until the following winter. Although the winter of 2023-2024 was relatively mild, the problem resurfaced during a late-season storm. I am particularly concerned about the potential consequences if these incidents were to occur at higher speeds on a busy highway. The risk of a serious crash involving myself and my passengers is significant.

21 Wiper problem of the 2013 Volvo XC60

Failure Date: 02/14/2023

Water leaking every time it rains. Running down the windshield on the inside and making it difficult to see and dangerous as I’m having to wipe while I’m driving.

22 Wiper problem of the 2021 Volvo XC60

Failure Date: 09/06/2022

Hi, I bought this Xc60 in Sep/2020 which is 2021type. In 2020 winter, after snowing the car's left(driver' window) doesn't work. I have searched the problem of wiper through on-line. I found the recall and then wrote on the manufacturer's online site & regular exam oil change Volvo service. But, I didn't get the right answer. They just this is not a recall SUV. When rainy days I can't see anything both of the wipers don't work and shows a warning of not working. It's too dangerous. I always bring a driver in order to open the window wiper cap. I have fixed it over 10 times. Today my wife drive this vehicle on a rainy day she was frustrated and fall into a dangerous situation. Both wipes don't work. Please review and fix it.

23 Wiper problem of the 2012 Volvo XC60

Failure Date: 07/21/2022

The front windshield was not properly sealed during manufacturing and is now leaking when it rains. Water drips down the inside of the windshield in front of the driver resulting in distraction and poor visibility. I also fear that in an accident the windshield would not perform as it should and would be a safety issue. I brought it to the Volvo dealer and they just said I had to have it replaced but they do not provide that service. I brought it to a windshield service center and the technician was able to push on the windshield with only his hand and confirm that it was not sealed and showed movement. They also mentioned that have seen this issue many times with these cars. There were no warnings other than the leak which started a few months ago.

24 Wiper problem of the 2013 Volvo XC60

Failure Date: 05/16/2022

While driving in the rain, water leaked in the through the top of the windshield, dripping on me and running down the inside of the windshield. This is a distraction for the driver to deal with the shock of getting wet while driving, as well as, and most importantly, a major visibility issue to have to deal with water on the inside of the windshield that impacts the driver's line of sight. I have read online that this model vehicle (and similar) has a known issue with the adhesive securing the windshield in place breaking down over time. If this is not corrected on my vehicle, the windshield could come loose and detach from the vehicle. It is *shocking* that there is not a recall in place for this model and similar vehicles impacted.

25 Wiper problem of the 2012 Volvo XC60

Failure Date: 05/05/2022

Manufacturers original windshield began leaking. On inspection windshield is not properly bonded or adhered to vehicle body and is able to be pushed off the body of the vehicle with little pressure from the inside of the cabin. Windshield repair company advised me to look for a recall notice they were so concerned. Didn't find one, so I wanted to report a safety concern.

26 Wiper problem of the 2011 Volvo XC60

Failure Date: 04/13/2022

Original oem front windshield developed a leak causing water to start dripping onto my hands on the steering wheel and on my lap during a rainstorm. Seems to be numerous accounts of the front windshield bonding failing, definitely can be hazardous when driving in an already higher-risk situation rain causes. Not to mention the dripping runs down the inside of the windshield they don't make windshield wipers for the inside of the car and you have to wipe it away while driving to help with the visibility.

27 Wiper problem of the 2012 Volvo XC60

Failure Date: 03/14/2022

Our 2012 Volvo Xc60 has a problem with the seal along the top of the windshield, which allows water into the interior of the car. It can end up dripping onto my lap while driving, which is distracting and a potential safety issue, and it also can obstruct visibility as water runs down the inside of the glass.

28 Wiper problem of the 2013 Volvo XC60

Failure Date: 03/12/2022

The issue is with the windshields separating from the bonding agent ( not sealing ) it is cause for a safety issue not only because it is loose and can move when pushed up , but water is entering the vehicle through the top part of the windshield and entering the electrical controls for the lights and sun roof causing a potential short or shock hazard, not to mention ruining the interior of the vehicle ,( headliner, mold. . Etc. . ). I and many other's ( see link below) feel it is necessary to have Volvo make the replacement of windshields in their vehicles . Https://beranek. Agrrmag. Com/2015/04/Volvo-glass-bonding-issue/.

29 Wiper problem of the 2012 Volvo XC60

Failure Date: 03/01/2022

Original front windshield separating from frame of car. Leaking water during rain / melting snow. In cold weather forms ice/frost on interior posing visibility hazard! autobody worker showed me how the windshield moved when he pushed on it with nothing more than his hand - warned me this is also a structural risk in case of crash. He stated he has personally seen hundreds of these on same model car for this year and the two following. Doesn't know why the company doesn't issue a recall!.

30 Wiper problem of the 2014 Volvo XC60

Failure Date: 02/09/2022

Wipers continually run. Headlights will not flip to high beam at times.

31 Wiper problem of the 2012 Volvo XC60

Failure Date: 01/15/2022

The windshield was not sealed properly during manufacturing because of a problem with the sealant used. This has caused a leak from the windshield on both the driver and passenger side from the top of the windshield when it rains. This creates lowered visibility when driving with water on the inside of the car, and also causes driving distractions while operating the vehicle. This improperly installed windshield also has caused malfunctions in electrical components in the windshield. There are no warning lights for this issue, but the windshield must be resealed by an auto glass technician.

32 Wiper problem of the 2022 Volvo XC60

Failure Date: 01/12/2022

Volvo rushed the 2022 model year Xc60 with the new google infotainment to market before all the bugs were worked out. While driving after 4 weeks of ownership, the hvac was not working so unable to defog the windshield, the turn signal lights were not working, maps and speed limit alerts not working. Had to manually reboot the infotainment to regain these necessary safety features. There are numerous internet forums describing issues with the new google based infotainment that Volvo is using and the slow response to address them. Even the dealer is aware of these reported issues.

33 Wiper problem of the 2010 Volvo XC60

Failure Date: 01/05/2022

Windshield seal developed leak. Water go into hvac shorting out system. No defrost, sever visibility and safety issue. Have seen numerous other Volvo owners with similar windshield gasket seal leaks. Car is useless as visibility issue persists.

34 Wiper problem of the 2012 Volvo XC60

Failure Date: 12/29/2021

During heavy rains and movement there is water leaking into the vehicle along the top drivers inside of the windshield. It also drips onto the steering wheel which often startles me while actively driving. The windshield has no cracks and is the original windshield.

35 Wiper problem of the 2013 Volvo XC60

Failure Date: 12/27/2021

Yesterday ice-cold water was dripping onto my lap while I was driving (distracting), as well as obstructing my vision while it ran down the inside of the glass. In addition, water collected at the footwell made it soggy and being that it was 5 degrees overnight it was frozen solid making the break pedal almost non-functional.
