Motor is consuming 1. 5 to 2. 5 quarts of oil every 1000 miles. There are no leaks and Acura has replaced the piston and rings once but the problem has continued and Acura is now claiming this normal for the vehicles.

The contact owns a 2004 Acura Mdx. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to start. The battery was jumped and the vehicle was able to start. The failure recurred multiple times. The dealer stated that the battery needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact also stated that there was oil leaking from the engine and the smell of fumes emitted into the vehicle. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 188,000.
