1 Transmission Gear Indicator problem of the 2016 Acura MDX

Failure Date: 04/24/2020

Acura needs to do something about this issue! my previous complaint was #11269881 and covered four separate incidences in 2019. This is a safety issue! previously two of my for instances of this happening involved significant instant slowing down of the car (below 30 mph) and rpm raising while while driving 70+ mph on interstate is dangerous! this time the afternoon prior the car experienced a louder than normal engine sound and rpm like it was in a lower gear. On the morning of 4/24/20 when the car was started the warning lights came on and cycled through and remained on most of the day. It was not until the fourth time driving the car that they all stopped lighting up. However the car still seems to be driving in a lower gear but no lights remain on. This time it did not lose power before the lights came on. They just appeared on when we went to start the car in the morning. Trailer stabilization assist problem, road departure mitigation system problem, emissions system problem, brake system problem, power steering system problem, vehicle stability assist problem, hill start assist problem,. Mileage at 122,044. Last time my dealer told me it was misfiring so change the spark plugs. I did but it has happened now three more times since then.

3 Transmission Gear Indicator problem of the 2001 Acura MDX

Failure Date: 08/01/2008

I own 2001 Acura Mdx and my daughter is the primary driver. She stated tha while driving down with her four month infant the car beggan to jump in a jerking motion at 35 mph. The gear light started to blink repeatdly and the check engine light came on. While pulling off the road the vehcle was skipping before came to a complete stop trying to make it home , the vehicle slowly sped up and started to jerk and skip again and then stared top back int reverse. It was taken to a local repair shop and was told that the vehicle had a transmission failure and it was recalled the the same problem. As the second owner of the vehicle, I was not aware of the recall so I did some research and found out that other owners are still having problem even with the recall so call to be fixed the defect problems. I called the the dealer( provided VIN) to verify my vehicle was taken in for the recall and was told it was taken in and "inspected" and not further information what else was done. The dealer gave me an over the phone estimate for repair cost of $5500. I requested a hard copy via email and they sent me an estimate for $6581. 37 to replace the transmission. I called America Honda CO on several occasion to get more information about the recall and to find out what exactly done to the vehicle and all they are telling me that my vehicle was fixed during the recall and they have no information on what was fixed or done to the vehicle and that I was responsible for the repair cost. I told America Honda that I was calling for recall information and they were more concern about who were responsible repair cost. During my research I learn this incident with my vehicle is still a safety issue and luckily no one was hurt and no fatality yet. This is my complaint about my Acura Mdx still dangerous even as older luxury vehicle.
