Transmission Stuck In Gear Problems of Acura MDX

Attempted to accelerate with pedal while at freeway speeds and after canceling cruise control, vehicle does not accelerate, downshifts instantly to 2nd gear, multiple warning lights on dash, main display reads �emissions system problem�. Accelerator function returns but transmission is stuck in 2nd gear at freeway speeds and very high engine rpm. Must make emergency stop on side of road and restart vehicle to remedy. Check engine light and �emissions system problem� warning remain for a day or two following an incident but vehicle drives ok. This issue has occurred on 4 separate occasions. Took to Acura dealer after 3rd incident and dealer reported no trouble found.

Tl-the contact owns a 2001 arura Mdx. The contact stated that the vehicle would not move either forward or backwards. The gears were stuck in nuetral. The contact heard a grinding sound when he tried to move the vehicle and it can not move at all. The dealer and manufacturer had not been contated yet . The contact suspects the issue was with the transmission. The vehicle has been sitting unrepaired at the contact's home for a year. The failure mileage was 200,000. Tf.

Takaya recall, I'm having transmission issues while I'm driving on the highway the vehicle seems to slow down and then picks up speed I have trouble switching gears when I try to reverse there's no movement the all of the sudden the vehicle will do our hard jerk reverse motion and stars going in reverse. Passages air bag read a code of airbag malfunction. Torque control, gears getting stuck flashing d5 light after going over 40.

Random nav reset followed by non-acceleration until rpms reach over 3000. This has happened multiple times since purchasing this vehicle in July 2012. Navigation/radio system resets. Soon followed by problem of non-acceleration. Following reset, stop at traffic light, stop sign, etc. Light turns green. Car feels as though it is stuck in 1st gear. Will not accelerate over 1000 rpms. Extremely slow movement thru intersection then car slams into gear and rpms top 3000. After rough shift car performance is mostly normal, sometimes hard shifting. Next red light repeat performance. If put into park and then back to drive transmission seems to "reset" and may or may not repeat above action. If car is turned off and left to sit for a short time it usually does not repeat but for how long is anyone's guess. Lately nav reset happens so often I lose count, I just wait for the car to shift into what feels like first gear. Dealership has not been able to recreate this issue. No computer codes show up in system. Multiple complaints to dealer but they claim to have no record and to have never heard of this problem.

Acura Mdx 2001 automatic transmission failure. Transmission seems to always get stuck in neutral while driving. Engine will rev very high until the transmission shifts gear. Each time the transmission fails the car is brought to sudden stop and then shifts gears then continues on moving. The transmission problem causes sudden stop when driving in both freeway and when go at lows speeds of 30 mph. The engine light warning lights up, the d5 gears starts to blink.
