I am writing to report a persistent issue with my 2021 Audi A4, VIN [xxx] . I have been experiencing a noticeable vibration, humming, and shuddering sensation that occurs specifically when turning at slow speeds (e. G. , in a parking lot or when making a tight turn at an intersection). This issue has been diagnosed at a dealership, and the diagnostic report from the service invoice dated 07/12/2025 noted "vibration humming shudder while turning. " the vehicle's mileage at the time was 38,888 miles. Dealership diagnosed this issue as a failing awd clutch system. I took the car to a different repair shop, and they redirected me to the Audi technical service bulletin (TSB). The symptoms described in the TSB—"vibrations, humming, droning, or rubbing can be heard and/or felt in the vehicle interior. . . When the steering wheel is turned to full lock"—perfectly matches my experience. TSB link - [xxx] the vehicle details are: model: Audi A4 year: 2021 VIN: [xxx] current mileage: 39490 since this is an issue due to a sub-optimal part shipped by Audi, many other Audi owners are also facing similar issues. Therefore, I want to report this issue to the NHTSA and take action on cars sold by Audi. This issue divert driver attention and is a potential cause of accident while taking the turn as driver may get distracted. I already got my car serviced at Audi dealership but they didn't inform me about this issue while the car was under warranty. Now the car is out of warranty after Apr-2025, I'm facing this issue significantly and dealership is charging close to $5000 to fix the issue. Please let me know what information you require from me to proceed. I would like Audi to place a recall on the car models facing this issue and implement the fix for all owners facing the issue because of faulty part shipped by Audi of America. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

Turbo needs to be replaced after only 58,000 miles. This has been an issue causing recalls on Audi models in different years.
The vehicle at 13,xxx miles on the high ways, and during stop & go traffic; vehicle begins to tremble, transmission and floor shakes, rpms are higher than normal, abnormal noises coming from engine (screeching), jerking on acceleration on the first gears, rough idle, happens only on highways after 1hr of driving. Can drive over 40 min without any check engine light turning on. No codes come up, while clearly having issues. After a day of being off, car goes back to normal without those issues, just vibrations and pulsing on idle. -happens on texas highways where vehicle begins to have trouble with acceleration and transmission shakes yet no check engine or error messages appear. -problem has been shown to one Audi dealer while happening and another Audi dealer was able to reproduce the problem. They even noted how vehicle will do all the issues noted above while not providing any error codes or messages. - vehicle has been inspected but all they do is reset software and hand back keys. While issues are still prevalent. - no warning, no over heat or any codes appear on the vehicle. Issues started at 13,xxx miles. Only on long highway or stop and go traffic does it happens.
While driving there was an internal failure of the front differential which caused debris to fly out and the debris then punctured the transmission according to the diagnosis on an Audi dealership. The car jerked to a stop and would not move. If this happens at high speed it represents a sever safety risk to the occupants. The vehicle has been inspected by the manufacturer and insurance representatives as well as by a dealer. There were no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms and this happened with no warning.
The all-wheel-drive clutch in the vehicle had to be replaced. The symptoms were heavy vibrations or thumping when starting to drive forward from a stop with the wheels turned in either direction. A dealership - new country Audi of greenwich - did the repair at a cost of $4,308. 85 (including tax). This drivetrain failure occurred at less than 48,000 miles. The vehicle came with a 50,000 mile or 4 year warranty. Since it was in service for over 5 years, this defect was not covered under warranty. There is a techical service bulletin on this issue, number 39 21 43 2059057/4 July 16, 2021. The dealer confirmed my issue was indeed the same as that addressed in the TSB. It seems to me that a major known issue occurring at less than 50,000 miles is a defect. I do not know if it is ultimately a safety hazard, but it seems it could become dangerous if not addressed. For reference, I am attaching the TSB and the repair invoice.
Vehicle has horrible oil consumption due to piston rings being defective upon manufacture. Vehicle will have slew of problems, including stopping in the middle of the street, risking the lives of everyone in the car. Audi dealer knows of the problem with the model from this year (b8) and they refuse to fix.

My 2017 Audi A4 transmission started to fail as it frequently was not able to shift gears unless I came to a complete stop and restarted my car. This made it difficult to drive at a higher speed when I was on a major road or highway. I took it to a mechanic specializing in transmissions and he confirmed that the transmission was failing. The car would give me an indicator light of a transmission malfunction. I find it ridiculous that my cars transmission would go out around 5 yrs/60,000 miles. Since the pandemic, it hasn’t been driven a whole lot as I’ve worked from home.
This is my second time contacting you in reg. This vehicle, it was previously in the shop for the same repairs the engine was replaced and the coolant system was fixed, now it has been about two mo and again it is having issues with the coolant system and now transmission issues, I also just found out that this vehicle was in a accident in 2014, in which I was told t had not been, so I am currently reaching out to the Audi dealership trying to receive previous service history done to vehicle oasis report. I feel this vehicle is a safety hazard, I am a single mom and grandmother and I do not feel safe in this vehicle and wish I was informed of previous accident. In the time I have had the vehicle it has spent over 30 days in the shop and now its back in there.

The contact owns a 2007 Audi A4. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle would not properly accelerate while depressing the accelerator pedal. Eventually the vehicle stalled and would no longer operate as designed. During the failure, the check engine warning light was illuminated. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were not contacted. The failure mileage was 100,000.

My vehicle will disengage forward or drive at times (transmission) unknowingly and as you apply the gas it sometimes will engage and go forward or reverse in a high speed. Stopped at a light or stop sign becomes dangerous as you are not in control of your speed. Or you may be moved into traffic and lose forward or reverse power.
The engine failed while I was driving. The car did not show any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms, it just jumped and died. I had the car towed to my mechanic. The mechanic thought it was the starter, but then realized the chain had broken and it hit other parts of the engine, including the pistons catastrophically. The engine is not reparable. My safety was a risk as the car died on a busy road. Audi has asked that I bring the car, at my expense for them to inspect, without offering anything. I have a letter from them indicating that they will not help.

According to TSB 401548, car dealership/manufacture will not provide extended warranty to repair premature wheel bearing due to vehicle VIN not in their system as an affected vehicle. The 2016 A4 has premature wheel bearing as described in the TSB 401548. Covered vehicles are 2016 Audi A4. Faulty wheel bearing may result in loss of control of vehicle and will not pass pennsylvania state inspection. This is a safety defect and a wheel bearing should not fail with only 63,000 miles on the vehicle. Please assist. Thank you.

2021 I brought an Audi A4 quattro 2. 0 2008 after having a test drive and haven't looked over the mechanic just said it was the fuel pressure high pressure sensor that was not a big deal after an hour buying it it took it to see my mom and it quit on me I had to have it towed home it would not start I took it to the mechanic and the mechanic said the same thing that it was a high pressure fuel pressure sensor so I purchased one and put on it couple months later it did the same thing the check engine light came on and it was told it was fuel pressure high pressure sensor again so I changed a fuel sensor two fuel pumps in the engine to electrical fuel pumps in the back four sensors camshaft sensor the cam follower ppc valves body throttle can follower engine light still comes on the car does not want to seem like it wants to accelerate when it gets to the normal temperature save your driving for 10 or 15 minutes still normal temperature not the radio the temperature it will start to cut off the rpm drops very fast I also have put in a fuel pressure regulator and a fuel pressure filter just the other day it came out again saying the same thing p0089 dakota's always been throwing ever since I brought the car and p 02993 it says performance one and performance too I have put a lot of money in to get in this car fixed in the I believe there is something wrong with with the fuel system in the cars they need to be on a recall.

Engine malfunction prevented the vehicle to engage and a significant lag. Correction of the failure has been attempted twice and a third attempt to correct malfunction is currently in progress with no movement as of yet. Gas tank has been drained and refilled and did not correct issue. Definitely not a gasoline type issue.
Purchased car used from Audi of north park in san antonio, TX with approx 73k miles on it. I have driven it for less than 2k miles. The car will no longer engage in reverse. I searched forums and see that this is a common problem.
Vehicle has 73,000 miles and the transmission has severe juddering. Transmission jerks continually while driving at all speeds, and makes it unsafe to drive. Apparently a common problem with Audi's. Fix is $6000. 00, making car worthless.
As I accelerate from 0 to around 2k rpm, car jerks rapidly and then continues to fix itself to be smooth. Even on 55mph speed and I decide to press the accelerator down quite a bit, the car jerks again.
The vehicle rolls forward while facing a downhill, after shifting into reverse.
When the vehicle as at a stop or moving forward very slowly and the gas pedal (accelerator) is depressed the transmission (which is in drive) does not engage - the engine will simply rev and the vehicle will not move forward for several seconds. The transmission will ultimately engage with a rather severe jolt. This presents a substantial safety issue, as the car will not accelerate upon command. On more than one occasion this has put me in a very dangerous situation. In one instance, a car was stalled ahead of me on a very busy freeway. I stopped my car about 15 feet behind the stalled vehicle. It was imperative that I be able to turn into the adjoining lane and be able to accelerate quickly while doing so, as traffic in that lane was busy and moving at a high rate of speed. When I depressed the accelerator the condition I described occurred and I was frankly lucky to avoid a serious accident. The on-board computer does not indicate any malfunction, and the dealer assures me that this is a normal operating feature of this auto.

Takata recall.
Epc light illuminated, rough idling, loss of power, car will not turn on. 2017 it did the same thing, found electrical fault near gas tank (could have blown up). Audi fix at goodwill. Compression of engine was never checked. 2019 same things happening, engine lost compression in 2 cylinders. All services done at Audi. Told new engine $10k-13k and they will not help cover costs. Only 60'000 miles done on the car and no overheating issues ever.
On January 28, 2019 I was driving to my medical appointment at 35 miles per hour when my car froze up then bucked and now no longer the transmission will no longer engage. Upon research Audi has known of this transmission having serious faults and that it will break down without warning. Audi has refused to do any recall on these transmissions, even after a class action that was settled, Audi will not do any recall.

The constantly variable transmission (cvt) of my 2003 Audi A4 cabriolet 1. 8t with just 86,000 miles on it is faulty, and has caused my vehicle to stall out on four occasions, twice while attempting to come to a stop at a stop sign and while parking, and twice while operating the vehicle while accelerating at a speed of 35 and 60 mph, on a city road and once while attempting to merge onto the interstate. The vehicle must be restarted to drive, and has just barely sputtered back to life in my four experiences so far. Audi is aware of the problem, and has settled a class action lawsuit in the past, although the settlement expired more than two years ago leaving owners like myself on the hook for costly repairs, and left with an unsafe vehicle in the mean time. Audi should recall all Audi A4 1. 8t cvt transmissions from 2003 to 2006 and permentantly solve the problem before someone is seriously injured.
Driving in traffic and car lost power. Tried to restart but not successful. Dashboard flashed message "gearbox malfunction: you may continue to drive". The car would not start. After sitting for two hours, the car started and I was able to drive home.

Car suffered from catastrophic engine failure due to known timing chain issues with these vehicles. There is currently a class action lawsuit regarding this issue. Https://timingchainlitigation. Com/.
Car randomly shut off after making a quick turn causing it to lose power and stopped in the middle of a busy intersection. Luckily I was able to make it to the side of the road before the car completely turned off. Waited for a few moments to try and start to car, after the 3 time trying, the car starte.
On 7/2/18 I merged on to 280 s from moorpark avenue in san jose. I had driven about a mile @ 60 (I do not use cruise control) when engine started to accelerate unexpectedly. I stepped on brake which slowed my vehicle but when I removed foot from brake it started to accelerate again. I was able to exit freeway safely and pull over into an empty parking lot. When I turned off engine I believe I hear a loud "roar" noise. Experience was frightening. I was afraid I would lose control of vehicle and cause major injury. I checked floor mat and floor to see if there was obstruction but there was none. I called tow company but after waiting 3 hours for c&m towing to not show up I decided to driver car around parking lot to see how it would drive. It drove fine so I drove home on surface streets. The next day took 2008 Audi A4 with 64k miles in to our mechanic. Diagnostics did not show any error codes. I do not know what caused sudden acceleration. Still I need to report this for the public record,in the event this happens again to me or others and it does not end well. Linda.
Upon having 3 consecutive oil changes, my car suddenly began to burn oil (no leaks) after the first oil change upon driving less than 900 miles. Then the second oil change did the same thing upon driving under 300 miles. It actually ran out of oil totally. I added oil as instructed by the car, and it burn the oil withing 250 miles of driving. I took it to the dealer, who acknowledge that this model and year had the wrong engine put in the vehicle. They would need to replace the entire engine at my cost, with possible reimbursement to me. Not acceptable, since they acknowledged the defect. Oil continues to burn at a very high rate and potential cause additional engine problems while driving.
When I back out from my garage the vehicle fails to move forward when the shifter is moved from reverse to drive. I have to apply an excessive amount of pressure to the accelerator to get the car to move forward. When the front wheels engage, the excessive force from increasing the power causes the vehicle to launch forward many times almost uncontrollable with the front tires squealing. It appears the front brakes are engaged and suddenly disengages and then suddenly launches forward. There has been no assistance from the dealership to assist with the problem. This issue almost always happens after the vehicle has setting overnight in my garage and backing down a slight slope tonto the public street. . This has been an ongoing problem for the past 3 plus years of ownership.
The car doesn't engage immediate propulsion when starting from a stopped position. It hesitates, then jerks, and finally drives. It is a significant safety concern when pulling out into traffic. Sometimes the gas responds, and other times doesn't. The Audi dealership said that they've gotten complaints about it, but that it's "normal" for the fwd models of the car. My wife won't drive it anymore because she thinks it's totally unsafe and unpredictable. We purchased the vehicle used a few weeks ago and thought that the problem was just occurring because the car needed new tires.
Tl the contact owns a 2015 Audi A4. While the vehicle was stationary in the reverse position, it rolled forward. Audi of north scottsdale in scottsdale, arizona was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 13,500. The VIN was not available.
Takata recall I've noticed on most of the complaints I see that the Audi A4 has a problem of jerking after it is isolating in traffic. My car jerks after sitting still in traffic, and then once I press to accelerate the car jerks. Could you please fix this problem on the Audi A4? I took it to the dealer and twice and they say that there isn't a problem.
