The contact owns a 2008 Audi A6. When the vehicle was started in the driveway, a wobbling sound was heard. The vehicle shook violently and smoke emerged from the tail pipe. Also, the temperature gauge started to rise and oil started to flow backwards to the top reservoirs. The vehicle was turned off. The dealer (Audi bedford in bedford, ohio) had the vehicle towed to their facility for diagnostic testing. The dealer diagnosed that the engine was working to standards. The contact also stated that the entire original engine was replaced in September of 2010. After the repair, the vehicle started hesitating when the accelerator pedal was depressed, and would even stall at times. The manufacturer was notified of the failures and refused to repair the vehicle again. The approximate failure mileage was 57,000.

Audi's 2. 8l v6 engine, from the late 1990's forward to current v6 engines has this problem. The cam adjusters commonly leak oil, and these leaks drip oil onto the exhaust manifold, which presents a fire hazard.
