I'm extremely frustrated and disappointed in our check and balances with Audi and these safety recalls. I own a 2015 Audi A6, back in June I found that there are two safety recalls with the front airbags that have killed 20 and injured over 100 people. I've done a lot of research. The airbags are more likely to explode in hot states and I'm located in socal, particularly the valley, which is the hottest part of la, reaching 100 degrees + throughout the summer. I've tried to resolve this with Audi, but the parts are not available and they have no idea when it will be available; the hope is October, but I was told August before. My passenger side airbag is often disabled automatically when there is a passenger in my car, the light comes on and off at the wrong times!!!. You can imagine how on edge I feel about driving around, going to work, having my child, or family in the car. . . Its scary. No dealership will buy this car back because it cannot sale with an open recall, and or it makes it harder. Additionally, the car won't privately sale either because there is this open serious recall that currently cannot be fixed, as I've tried. I requested that Audi give me the kelly blue book value of the car because it is unsafe, their response was not to have people in the front seats, which doesn't make since because I have to drive. Additionally, I'm paying alot of money, not to use my front seat? that's 1/4 of my car. I'm not asking for much, but I want to get out of an unsafe car that doesn't have a date for repair anytime soon. I'm mortified every time I drive, reading the stories of the people who've died because the airbags malfunctioned and or blew up. Car manufactures should be held accountable when they put the public safety at risk. They should also have strict time frames to repair or pay damages or at least offer rentals. What can be done to resolve this fast?.

Takata recall: Audi sent recall notice July 2016 for passenger side airbag, said do not use passenger seat, said replacement parts not availsable. Also said my vehicle at highest risk since purchased and garaged in miami, florida, high heat and humidity. Six months later, January 2017, still no replacement parts available. Unable to sell vehicle until defective airbag replaced. Audi can not provide any estimate for when replacement parts will be available. What can NHTSA do to require Audi to make immediate replacement?.

Takata recall. I was notified probably 9-10 months ago that there is a recall on the drivers side airbag of my car and that I should not allow any passengers to ride in the front seat. This is extremely inconvenient. I have not been able to find any dealers that have the replacement parts available. This period of time seems pretty crazy to me as the notice said that if it deploys it could cause severe injury or death.

The 2005-2007 Audi A6 has an integrated dashboard system that controls and manages the Audio, navigation, telephone and other non-safety related features. The same module controls the driver's side air-bag. I recently had the display module for the radio/navigation fail. This also caused the driver's side air bag system to fail. Shouldn't safety systems in a car be on separated from the entertainment systems ? this would be similar to having your seatbelts fail if the rear seat dvd player failed, or your driving lights stop working if a vanity mirror bulb burned out. . . . I hope you get my point. In virginia, the state I live in, all cars require an annual safety check - air bags included. The fact that a car radio can cause your airbag to fail just seems like poor planning and putting passenger safety at risk. I have observed on the various Audi forums on the internet that this display module failure appears to be quite common.

The air bag light was on couple of months and I checked with local repair shop. They told me the computer says the side driver's airbag has a problem and it won't deploy when I have an accident. I didn't fix it at that time. After 6 or 8 months, I was driving and stopped on signal. All of sudden, the side air bag deployed without any impact. I got injured from the air bag on my left arm. After that, I could see some smoke coming out of the cabin and smells something is burning. Right now, the car is in Audi dealer to be investigated.
(1) unknown. (2) Audi A6 air bags failed to inflate at time of impact. Driver was injured. (3) not applicable, car is a total loss.
