Warning Light On Problems of Audi A6

Takata recal. . . . This was taken to dealer in 2015 for the recall and fixed. Recently the air bag warning light came on and remained on. I took it to the dealer and was told the recall was for the ocd, not the module. . . . They found a "faulty control module". The module is part of the abs system. The abs module and the airbag control model communicate together. I believe this should be a part of the recall on the airbag system. The module has been reset for now. . . . . To replace. . . . . That part costs $1456. 00.

Tl- the contact owns a 2016 Audi A6. The contact stated that the air bag warning light intermittently illuminated. Air bag warning light activated without incident-car was parked. Codes on vehicle record report generated by auto mechanic are as follows: 01212 belt tensioner igniter rear passenger side (n197) upper limit reached-intermittent, 01211 belt tensioner igniter rear driver side (n196) upper limit reached-intermittent. Replaced parts, light deactivated, test driven greater than 40 miles as of date of report.

My 2008 Audi A6 avant has had an air bag warning light appear 3 times in 2 years. Each time it gives error codes for it's center, rear seat belt. I was told that this means that the restraint may not work effectively in the event of a crash or abrupt stop. It has happened at 12,983 miles, at 29,000 miles and now at 39,000 miles. Nobody should use it until it is fixed. 1st time Audi did gff test steps and cleared code, second time they replaced the seat belt itself. Now they believe it to be an electrical system issue.

Airbag warning light stayed on after the engine started - diagnostics conducted at a Audi dealership. Customer informed by service department that the airbag unit is faulty and whole unit needs to be changed (cost quosted $800) - also informed "need" left tie rod end (previous similar complaint regarding tie rod on NHTSA web site).
