Equipment Problems of BMW 328 - part 2

The central locking system frequently goes out and I'd have to replace the three doors actuators that don't work consistently. Many times I'm locked in the car with the only way of getting out is by lowering the window and climbing out. According to my service advisor at BMW, this is a known problem with different models of BMW in this time frame. I really wish it would be considered a recall so at least myself and my family will feel safe and know that I can escape the car if necessary.

Have been waiting since March to get safety recall no. 21v-907:egr cooler completed. BMW of henderson is the dealership. I called BMW customer relations and they told me each dealer is independently owned and they can’t do anything for me. This dealership is notorious for poor service.

I was driving this evening and the panoramic sunroof suddenly and unexpectedly shattered. There was no warning or event that led to this. No pothole or external factor. The road was smooth and no other cars were around my vehicle. I heard an extremely loud "pop" and thought something had hit my vehicle. When I stopped to identify the problem, I exited my vehicle ad saw the panoramic sunroof glass was cracked and shattered, but had lifted up in a domed shape, or a bubble. The outside temperature was about 17 degrees. Fortunately I had the headliner in the closed position so no broken glass would have fallen into the cabin.

Reporting very dangerous sudden unintended acceleration of 2015 BMW 328i: when about to back out of a parking space in a parking garage, I pressed the brakes and turned on the ignition switch. After looking around to ensure no cars or people were near the car, I put the gear shift in reverse, turned my whole head entirely over my right shoulder to look through the back windshield and, seeing nothing behind me, began to slowly lift my foot from the brake to reverse out of the parking space. I turned the steering wheel towards the left and the back of the car went to the left. The bumper gently tapped a white column that had been out of sight all the way further over my right shoulder. I gently pressed on the brake, and when I switched the gear shift into drive, the car suddenly and explosively accelerated forward extremely fast and sped out of control. I pressed the brakes to stop the car, which did nothing, and the car slammed into cement wall so hard that it sounded like an explosion and the air bags deployed. I hit my mouth/face/head on the air bag and got whiplash from the sudden stop. When I got out of the car, a couple who’d heard the explosion drove by and asked if I was ok. After a few moments I reached into the car to turn off ignition switch. This event resulted in very serious damage to the car, which was totaled, and I received medical injuries. This incident was reported to my automobile insurance company and to north America BMW, who has escalated the report to higher levels due to the seriousness of the incident, and will be doing investigations this week. The accelerator pedal or gear box dangerously and seriously malfunctioned, and the car is available for inspection upon request. My safety was seriously at risk as I have headaches and whiplash symptoms. If there were no wall there, or if there had been people or cars anywhere in front of the car, they would have been killed and smashed because the car suddenly accelerated so quickly.

I was driving on an interstate highway this afternoon in houston at approximately 65 mph when the non-panoramic (single window) sunroof of my 2015 BMW 328i exploded over my head. Sounded like a gunshot. Large and small glass shards all throughout the cabin. No other vehicles within particularly close range of my car when it happened. No visible rock or other debris. No sound or vibration from any impact. Appeared to be spontaneous and not the result of rock or debris. Upon inspection from the outside, it appears clear that there was an outward explosion - pictures and video show the glass around the perimeter of the hole angled upward toward the sky. Glass of course showered into the cabin as well. Despite the dispersion of glass within the interior of the cabin, fortunately I did not suffer any cuts or other injury. But the incident was extremely dangerous. The explosion was very loud and could easily cause a driver to become distracted and/or lose control of the vehicle, especially if occurring under heavier traffic conditions. Obviously the risk of a cut and/or injury to the eyes is significant as well. I called a local BMW auto dealership to discuss the issue. The service advisor indicated that he has seen this happen a number of times with BMW vehicles but that BMW will not cover the cost of repair unless the vehicle is still under warranty. 2010 328i BMW that I own. Vehicle will not start. I had to leave it where it sits as we speak at my baby mamas apartment complex in lacey washington. Very dangerous and strong smell a burning smell I am finally after getting the trunk open come to find out that my battery was more than just “smoldering” and the positive terminal was melted all the way to the point where we panic and I had to disconnect it because it was red hot actually the bolts are melted together im sure and probably won’t be coming apart. I had to leave my key in the ignition and I left the car there after speaking to the apartment complex managers asking them not to do it. I’ve been trying to contact the BMW dealer and ask them what my next step is and getting it fixed as there is an active recall on it because of the pcv valve not being up to specifications and could cause a short and “an extremely rare cases can you catch fire. Which unfortunately happen to be my luck. The car is still in lacey washington and I don’t know whether to get it towed to the dealer in tacoma washington being that the guy on the phone was a complete a******* and told me to not get it towed there that they’re just going to get it towed out of there. At this point I do not know what to do but I need help in expressing the amount of beyond safe and liability on this recall through BMW to.

Around 3:30 pm driving south on I 25, 10 miles north of trinidad, CO, the panorama sunroof blew out with a loud bang. I pulled over had a quick look, drove to trinidad and vacuumed up the broken glass from inside the car and broke out small remaining pieces. I was driving around 77 mph the inside sun roof cover was open and the air vents were off.

The sunroof in my car exploded yesterday morning as I was driving in clear weather on the open freeway. There were no other vehicles or other obstacles near the car when the incident occurred; nothing to "throw up" a rock onto the car and cause the damage as BMW says occurs often in situations like this. When the sunroof blew out, it sounded like a gun went off in my car, my dad and I were was showered with glass, and the impact was so strong it made a dent on the roof of my car.

I suspected my mechanic of over 10 years was tampering with my vehicles telematics vehicle tracking software I was being tracked, stalked and followed. On 9/7/2022 I dropped off my car there was no tracking activity on my phone. I retrieved my vehicle the following day when I arrived I saw 3 other mechanics that I have never saw before an asian man mechanic with a laptop sitting on top of a 750i BMW plate: 5kzx788. Something did not feel right. The asian guy looked very familiar he was busy doing something on the laptop. On sept 9 2022 at 4:44 I called for help a few minutes before closing. I called manny the lead mechanic regarding the high level of radiation coming from my vehicle and also something was dragging underneath my car. He said I could stop by. When I arrived after about ten minutes I could see someone sitting in a vehicle I as standing next to. It was one of the mechanics I had never seen before. He was hiding in a white BMW with very dark tinted windows you could barely see him. I walked up to the vehicle that is when I spotted him. My first time seeing him was on September 7, 2022, when I dropped off my car. I pulled out my cell phone, and immediately saw my signal coming from his vehicle. He was bio-hacking me sending my bio metric signal to the vehicles on the street I could feel it in my head and legs. I have photos, video and technical documentation to support my claim.

Diesel emissions system is producing an error code due to incorrect coding by the manufacturer for us grade diesel fuel. Check engine light has come on. There are warranties out for the model years just slightly older than mine. I have read many threads with people talking about having the same issue.

There is a safety recall on my car. This recall involves an engine component known as the positive crankcase ventilation (pcv) valve heater. The pcv valve heater may not have been produced to specifications which could lead to a short circuit. BMW does not have an available remedy for this recall and does not have any timeline for fixing it.

There is a manufacturer recall - NHTSA recall number22v119 this affects the pcv valve heater, which may not have been produced to specifications which could lead to a short circuit. I was advised a remedy was available to fix this defect, brought my car to the BMW dealership of greenwich/mamaroneck service department located at 110 midland avenue, port chester, on 8/4/2022 at 9:45 a. M. I was told this would be completed that same day. I was not given a loaner and have no other means of transportation, but to date, a full day plus later, my car has not been returned nor repaired and I have received no return phone calls from my assigned service person, reinaldo cruz regarding its status. I have emailed and called him both without success.

I have been unable to get my BMW dealer (BMW of bellevue) to remedy the recall issue. I received notice of the recall in January, 2022 but was informed that no remedy was available yet. I then received a letter in July 2022 informing me that a remedy was now available and I should immediately contact my BMW service center to schedule an appointment. I did that but was informed that they didn't have the required parts in stock and they would contact me when the parts arrived. I have contacted them on a monthly basis since then to check on the status and get the same answer that they don't have the necessary parts. It is now mid October 2022 and I have been afraid to drive my car for fear of it catching fire and potentially blowing up.

I was driving down the massachusetts turnpike with my 2 year old grandson and I experienced a power loss in the car. I immediately pulled over and opened the hood to find a fire starting in the engine compartment. I got my grandson out of the car and within minutes it was engulfed in flames. This in my opinion is a direct result of the BMW recall 21v-907 and I am really shocked drivers falling under this recall are still driving these vehicles. Action needs to happen before serious injury or death occurs.

Exhaust smell from engine bay area comes into car since I bought the car. I reported this problem to the dealer and no solution was found. Egr cooler was not replaced even though I get the recall since 2018 and it states that the exhaust smell could possibly comes from egr. Problem needs to be addressed by BMW since I use this car to drive my infant. Please advise!.

Have been made aware recently a recall has been required on my vehicle although no remedy is available yet. Pcv crankcase valve is defective which can cause several issues with vehicle. . . After learning this my car was having issues cranking and not starting, thinking it was the battery I had it replaced and still to no avail. . Replaced fuel pump thinking it may be a fuel issue and now no power. . Battery chargers get extremely hot when trying to charge car. . . B+ battery cable has been recalled in the past although I did not own this vehicle when BMW was mad aware in 2011, and my vehicle is a 2010! so many recalls, defective components with fuel related issues and electrical problems that can leave owners stranded. I have been lucky my car is at my home, although I now have to rely on others for transportation now. . . .

The car was over heating and not starting as well as fuel pump error on my dash. There is an open recall on my vehicle starting March of 2022 it is now June and BMW says they don’t know when they will have a remedy for this and it could be months but I need my car.

Hello why you send me letters saying that , you guys gonna take my car away for what or why if its my car . If I dont have any warning or letters with the police that say my car gonna be taking away for no reason !? that doesn't make sense to me cuz im not the only person who's driving a BMW car . My car is in good conditions, few days ago I did the smokecheck. The car pass everything clean. Like is weird that BMW dealership send me this letter to me , if my car is mine , I already pay off my car and I dont nothing to do with BMW dealership because everything is good with my car. So I need to cut off that warning that I have on my car and if you can contact me at this phone number 415-756-0776. Like I said that doesn't make sense , taking my car away for no reason. And I already contact the hotline number that appers in the below of the papers , I spoke with some people about this problem but they trash , they can't solve anything. So I need somebody who knows about this and how to cut off the warning of my car thanks!!.

After running errands and car had been parked for an hour or so, I returned to my vehicle and it would crank but would not start. After trying to start a few times it finally started and I was able to make it home without having to call a tow truck (or being abandoned in a mall parking lot in the middle of the night). My car drove fine the next day, after driving for about an hour I parked at my parents home during a visit that lasted an hour or so. When returning to my vehicle to leave the same thing happened as before. It would crank but would not start. It took a few tries to start and then it ran fine and I was able to make it home with no issue. It started okay the following day and I was able to drive to and from work (approx. 8 miles). After parking over night I went to start vehicle and it would not start at all. It would crank but would not start. I had the battery replaced thinking it was an old battery (2010 vehicle) this would still not work, the car was also not able to be jumped from the engine compartment, may have something to do with the battery lines or fuel pump?previous recall? I did not own this vehicle prior to 2018 so I am not sure if this could be the issue? or properly repaired previous recall? recently April 2022 recall-pcv valve heater. The recall information claims that it is only activated in "cold weather climates" and that it may not have been produced to specifications by the supplier. Over time this could lead to overheating in the engine compartment. In some cases, this could lead to fire! this recall's remedy is unavailable at this time which is extremely concerning. I am actually scared to attempt to continue to inspect, as this recall can cause a fire. If this was a recall regarding windows, or windshield wipers that would be a little easier to deal with, but fires! the recall info requested drivers and passengers to dial 911 and immediately move to a safe location away from traffic if you see smoke/funny smell no remedy availabl.

BMW has a recall on this vehicle 328xi about the pcv valve heater and had sent notice of the need to replace and it has been over 2 years and they have not found a remedy for the fix. The BMW warranty group confirmed a date on March 7, 2022 for the repair. Upon going to the herb cambers in brookline, MA. They told me they did not have a remedy to fix the issue and will contact when they have a fix. On April 2022 they sent a letter stating the pcv valve heater needs to be fixed under (17v-673 / 19v-273) and the remedy is unavailable and a new remedy needs to be performed. Issue is that if they do not fix the valve heater the engine could heat up and could cause a fire. They say a remedy is being worked on, but BMW should be responsible if a fire does occur.

I went to park my mom's car. Tapped the brakes, moved up a little, tapped the brakes again-the brakes gave out and the car lunged forward at a high speed. The only reason I stopped was because a metal fence stopped me. Earlier in the day the car switched modes by itself from sport to economy. This is the 2nd time this has happened in this car. The first time my mom was parking in her driveway and the brakes gave out and the car lunged into her garage. This car is not safe.

The left brake lamp continues to come on after changing the brake lamp and checking sensor - I dont know if the light is out or its another issue the brake lamp has been working fine , the warning is incorrect also , the added safety features installed in the car and paid 1000's extra for no longer work due 3g phase out , BMW claimed drivers can use their phones but they will not retro fit the cars to get safety features back , they chose specific vins of this model to re-enable but not all??? the car has no space within drivers sight to mount phones for directions/navigation and any voice activation /handfree usage iis disabled along with crash notificatiions/stolen vehicle recovery . BMW made crashes far more likely in the vehicle and far more vulnerable to be stolen! BMW service dept advised to use a cell phone to get some of the lost services back which is illegal and very dangerous to do so.

Keep getting the p0015 code changed all sensors that come with code and I keep getting a high pitched noise once car gets hot.

Vanos solenoid bolt came apart and manufacturer refuses to service vehicle advising my car is not part of recall notice # 14v-176. Also denying me sulev warranty services basically do not want to honor any recalls or epa compliance warranties.

The drivetrain malfunction light came on and my car stopped on the main highway while I was driving out and it wouldn’t start back so a wrecker tow it then maybe 5 days later it just crank again but then it started to do it again. There was a recall for this but it had expired before I bought the car.

My vehicle has been on recall since March 2, 2022. There are increasing problems and an occasional smoke and burning smell. This is effecting me getting an inspection and registering my vehicle.

Warning lamps/messages? no, to this day, there is no official warning signal method to alert motorists of the intention to perform, and execution of a u-turn maneuver. The solution: include u-turn signal devices and methods as part of the fmvss no. 108. An effective/productive/economical and financial u-turn signal solution can be attained by the implementation of patent # us 10,919,442 b1; devices and methods for motor vehicle u-turn signaling. The u-turn signal solution offered under patent # us 10,919,442 b1 is highly achievable at a low cost to implement. The patent uses a combination of existing and approved lamps, reflective devices, and associated equipment, such as headlamps, reverse lamps, turn-signal lamps, and side lamps modules used in concert to generate a universally applicable signal that communicates to other travelers that a u-turn maneuver is intended and under execution. I was at a red light while driving my car. When I stepped on the gas once the light turned green the car stalled and started jerking I immediately smelled smoked and seen smoke coming through the cabin. . Lt made a strange sound from the engine the service engine light came on and said reduced engine power/ drive train malfunction get service immediately. I was able to coast the car to a curb luckily in front of a car shop as soon as I can get out of the car a worker from the shop ran outside yelling your car is on fire! we lift the hood and he had a water hose on the side of the shop he then sprayed the area of the fire and it was put out. I have kept regular routine maintenance on the car no prior signs of car malfunctioning or service engine light on no warning at all this was unexpected. This occurred February 8th 2022 I had the vehicle towed to my local firestone auto care and they said the ignition coils were melted and something strange happened and to check with BMW because it was too catastrophic for them to fix since then I have had the vehicle at my home parked and after calling BMW they said there were no known recalls at the time….

Car stops while driving, battery also draws while not in use. Which is very dangerous. Already filed report with dealer ship for car. We will be having an another baby this winter and it is getting to the point where it can be very dangerous for my family. We got it checked but since it’s a manufacturer issue is what they said. Since this car doesn’t have any recalls dealer doesn’t want to do anything. We noticed that many other cars of same year have the same problem.

On February 5, 2022 while driving on 70 mph on i64 my vehicle shut down due to the recall causing the the high-pressure fuel pump to shut down causing the engine to stall and a message that there was a powertrain malfunction and the vehicle would not start back or go into gear. The interstate was very busy and I could have been hit by a tractor trailer or another vehicle at high speed. I received a recall notice that stated there was a remedy available November 2021, but when I called the dealership I was told there were no parts available and they would call me when parts became available. A month went by and the issue with the recall happened leaving me in a very dangerous situation. The car was towed to moses BMW on 2/6/22 and over 30 parts have been ordered. I have been told that there is no estimate on when the parts would arrive. There is a second safety recall with no remedy that has been present October 2018 and moses BMW sold me the vehicle in June 2020. I received a notice January 2022. This recall is for the egr cooler developing an internal leak possibly causing the vehicle to catch fire. I have asked BMW to buy the vehicle back due to safety reasons and the long wait time to fix the one recall and no fix for the other, and they refuse. In addition, they sold me a vehicle that was under recall and according to s. 1634 - used car safety recall repair act that was against the law.

Vehicle smells like gas. Drivetrain malfunction light comes on, car sputters and shakes, goes off after a couple of days and then comes back on and shakes 4 months or more later. Loses power or won’t accelerate while traveling more than 50 mph.

The vehicle keeps stalling on the highways and on the streets. We have taken the car in and have towed the car in to the BMW dealership costing us hundreds of dollars on what they think the problem is and it does not fix the issue. They perform a diagnosis and can’t find an issue but the car keeps stalling. The car first starting stalling last year around February.

BMW dealer still maintain its instruction to their dealer mechanic to replace knowingly hiding the fact that it should have been recalled & avoided 2016 (have receipt) at 70k miles transmission rebuilt, specialist said broken fragments of gears resulting in irreparable damages 2017 corroded fuse box nr passenger side replaced $680 2019 after stopping, car barely cranks over & white smoke observed under hood in front of passenger waited 30 minute to start days later car won’t start, the wire leading to fuse burnt off, lost all power $300 tow home +$350 replace wire $4580 since 2020 low battery all year, car sluggish due to sudden lost of power. 2021 engine shaking violently, drives shaky & unstable jerks, pulled over towed $280 steering lock symbol shown car on driveway realized my VIN was not included in this 2013 recall of 570,000 cars for the same defect numerous reported urgent life/ property threats to highway safety for years: sudden lost of power (no hazard light) on left lane of highways entire car engulfed in flames in minutes w toddlers inside car barely escaping air bags popping while in motion. .

The plastic power pieces that goes over the battery melted. Ever since then I have had electrical problems. My concern is when that pieces melted it could have caused a fire. I dint even know it melted till I started have electrical problems and had to look at my battery. As far as the fuel problems I have a n51 and from what I understand the parts for it are hard to find I would like to know more about the BMW 15yr/150,000 mile warrenty that the BMW forms are talking about.
