Takata recall. Receive recall notification in July 2015. Received resolution notification in September 2016. BMW dealer has refused to inspect or replace driver side airbag despite having copies of the recall notices. Shop manager at alexandria BMW told me he would call me back after checking with his "distributer. That was in October 2016. Still has not heard from him.

Takata recall was notified in may 2015 of drivers side airbag recall. Current status from BMW is no remedy available yet. I would think by now that the plans and timelines of this recall would be well understood and issued to the owners of the affected vehicles.

Car slid into a pole due to the weather the passenger side bumper was hit but the driver side air bag deployed and the car wouldn't start. There really wasn't much damage to the bumper just don't understand why the airbag deployed.

The car was going at 20mph on a rainy day, all of a sudden it started to spin, after a couple of 360 degree turn it hit a pole and came to a halt. Airbags and side curtain bags deployed with driver side airbag popped into pieces. Driver has a minor injury to right hand.

My vehicle meets the criteria for BMW recall 13v564 but because the vehicle production date is 2 months outside the VIN range BMW will not correct the defect. All other criteria apply - make, model, year, etc. The passenger side front seat occupancy detection mat may fail, resulting in resulting in a deactivation of the passenger side air bag system. A warning display and issue was verified by an authorized BMW repair center. The repair has not been made.

Upon starting engine passenger-side air bag fault lights appeared indicating air bags would not work in an accident. Passenger seat was unoccupied at the time and no items were on the seat. Dealer reset and reported diagnostic tests detected low voltage condition to that circuit. Dealer reset. Dealer recommended I purchase a new battery. I purchased a new battery 10 days later. During the interval between reset and new battery the lights did not reappear. 9/2014 I was driving at highway speeds when passenger side air bag fault lights appeared. Seat was unoccupied at the time and no objects were on the seat. Dealer diagnosed same as above. At time of this incident battery was 1. 5 years old. No liquids have ever been spilled on seat. No moisture on seat. Mileage at time of incident was 23,900. Driver's side air bag fault warning did not appear during either incident. Presumably that circuit would be subjected to the same low voltage condition as the passenger side.

Vehicle sent error message about passenger side airbag failure in the am, complete electrical system failure in the evening when I went to return home. Dealer found water in trunk, below spare tire. Trunk above spare tire was dry, no signs of moisture. We experienced heavy rainfall on 3/17. Electrical system is fried - vehicle is inoperable. Appears to be failed sunroof water seals per BMW service bulletin si b 61 13 06. In my professional opinion as a mechanical engineer, this is a design flaw. Multiple owners' forums concur.

I was driving on a mountain road on pine mountain in kern county, CA when the driver's side air bag on the door and headliner deployed. The rear seat air bag also deployed. It was completely unexpected - I did not hit anything before they deployed. The deployment caused the car to stop which then skid over the icy road, and the emergency flashers came on.

The contact owns a 2001 BMW 530i. The contact stated while driving at 25 mph the driver side air bag located in the door and the side curtain air bag deployed. The contact suffered a minor injury to the left arm. The contact pulled over to check the vehicle for damages. There were no damages to the vehicle that would cause the air bag to deploy. The contact was able to drive the vehicle home. The contact called the manufacturer and they informed the contact that due to the VIN number the contact's vehicle was not included in the recall. The contact feels this vehicle should be added to the current recall. The failure mileage was 128,000.
