Tl the contact owns a 2010 BMW X5. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to start and the battery failed without warning. The failure only occurred when the vehicle had been parked in below freezing temperatures. The vehicle was taken to the dealer (sandia BMW, 6001 pan american fwy, albuquerque, nm 87109), but the failure could not be duplicated. The vehicle was not repaired. 3 Battery Dead problem of the 2012 BMW X5

Failure Date: 11/05/2016

Bought it used 58k miles , on first day the battery died, took it to BMW dealer, labor+parts+programming $475! only after 4yrs the battery failed ? after 2 months engine overheating, towed the car to the dealer, water bump +thermostat +flushing coolant and a few more flushing all trans, etc plus aliment, $1800 for water bump and thermostat+ the other things all together came up to $2500 after$300 discount, we went to pickup the car asked for discount and got the bill down to $1978. Very very disappointed about the quality of BMW and electric water pump that fails and needs to be replaced on almost every BMW only after like 30k and up? unlike other cars water pump will fail after 150k-200k miles.

4 Battery Dead problem of the 2010 BMW X5

Failure Date: 03/21/2015

I had this problem with my 2010 BMW X5 35d breakdown. It said the charging malfunction on the screen. Power steering was lost. Wheel steer was hard to manuever. Hard to move. I almost got in an accident. The battery died. Everything just not function bc of lost in power steering. When I towed my car to BMW manhattan, the service advisor told me there was no recall for my BMW X5 35 d. She told me the dealer would charge me about $900 to replace pulley belt bolt and battery and etc . I told her it's one of recall. After that the service advisor told me that she will call me back on that which she never did, my car was still at BMW manhattan. It's been a week in the dealer. I'm still waiting to know what happen.

5 Battery Dead problem of the 2002 BMW X5

Failure Date: 02/07/2009

Heat/ac kept blowing after car was turned off causing battery to die so the car wont start in the morning. Original part was defective BMW knew about it and upgraded the part. Which I bought on ebay then the problem was solved. The name of the part that is defective is the final stage resistor. BMW will not issue a recall for this problem.
