During periods of high heat (and only high heat) after being parked in the sun, when the vehicle is being driven at highway speeds, the brake pedal will stiffen and slow the car down. The steering wheel column will violently shake, as if the calipers are stuck. Once parked, all four wheels are hot and omits a burning smell. I have replaced two tires, 2 front calipers, front brake pads, all hoses and front rotors to no avail. Brake booster and master cylinder have been checked and are not the issue. All possible issues have been addressed within the last 8 weeks. Friday (05/14/21) the same issue happened again. I am at my wits end trying to resolve this issue.

Six months after purchasing this used vehicle (with 29,000 miles on it) it completely stalled on the interstate while driving about 65 mph. It started braking by itself making it difficult to get to an emergency pull off area. This could have caused a serious accident considering it was rush hour. I took it to the dealership where they told me that the "throttle body" needed to be replaced. After getting it repaired the car drove fine until this year. At about 55,000 miles my car would start shaking very hard, brake pedal was almost to the floor, and it was almost impossible accelerate. I had to pull over and restart the car. This happened atleast 4 times. Eventually my car stalled out on me again while driving on the interstate. Once again this February the dealership blamed it on the "throttle body" and a powerline that was "completely corroded". After having them replaced, it drove ok for only a couple of months. Then all of a sudden in June my car started shaking very badly while driving on the interstate and I noticed that my brake was stuck I put my foot under the brake pedal to pop it out and the car then drove ok. I took it to the dealership and go figure the "throttle body" needed to be replaced, brake master cylinder had to be replaced, brake vacuum booster needed service, brake fluid system had to be flushed, and the engine air filter needed to be replaced. I walked away with a $300 bill because the warranty only covered some of the problems. One week later while it was pouring rain I was driving on the interstate and my car completely stalled for the 3rd time. A tractor trailor almost lost control trying to prevent hitting me as I slid off the interstate. Once I was safe I tried to restart it and the key broke off in the ignition. Now the immobilizer module has to be replaced. Please note that I keep the maintenance up on this vehicle.
The contact owns a 2000 Buick Regal. The contact stated that the passenger side front brake steel line, extending from the master cylinder to the wheel, has worn out. The brake pedal extended to the floor when it was depressed and barely stopped the vehicle. A local general motors dealer replaced the master cylinder and the surrounding components. The estimated repair cost was $450. The dealer stated that this was a common failure, which comes from condensation from the air conditioner unit leaking onto the cylinder and creating rust. My wife?s 99 Buick Regal, with less than 31,000 miles, bought new 12/99, suddenly started to lose brake fluid during the first week of September. We could see no obvious leaks but each time we test drove the car, a small amount of brake disappeared from the master cylinder reservoir. Since the warranty ended last December, I called gm special policy adjustment program and I was advised to take the car to the closest local gm dealership and have the problem diagnosed so repair requirements and costs could be determined for any possible special adjustment. I called the local sun dealer on 9/4, but I was politely told don?t come here because I didn?t buy the car there and they didn?t want to get involved in any cross warranty issues (despite the fact that I was willing to pay for their time). I took our Buick to a trusted local repair center and it was promptly determined there was a rusted and leaking metal brake line, other severely rusted (but not leaking) brake lines and severely pitted, corroded and rusted rear brake rotors. The private garage replaced the rusted & leaking brake lines, rear rotors & brake pads for a total cost of $412. 31. All replaced parts were given to me at my request. On 9/6 I fully documented what had transpired and submitted it to Buick?s online customer relations, and was assigned request # 1-137192830. I was told via email Buick?s gm special policy adjustment program would follow up. On 9/11 I spoke with a gm's special policy adjustment program person, explained what had transpired and was told only the service manager at the servicing dealer could approve any reimbursement outside of the warranty. They would notify him of my claim. On 9/12 I called the service manager (who seemed very concerned because of the car?s low mileage) but he couldn?t do anything without the area service manager?s approval. A few days later I received a voice mail saying the area service manager wouldn?t get involved or approve of any reimbursement.
