Condensation issue in drivers side headlight. This is a manufacturers defect as thousands have complained about this issue and nothing is being done. The entire hid headlight assembly cost $1,320. 95 at the dealer without taxes. This is appalling to me that I should have to pay for this problem when clearly this is a manufacturers defect. This is a very serious safety issue. My car did not even have 45,000 miles on it when the headlight went out.

This vehicle has hid headlight assemblies that have constant issues with condensation/water entering the housing and causing the ballast and bulb to fail. This is due to a faulty seal between the outer and inner shell assembly. This is a huge safety issue, as the vehicle may loose all headlights and cause the driver to crash. The assemblies are very costly to replace and the issue is very very common on all 2011 though 2017 Regal and GS models with hid. This is dangerous and should be fixed by the manufacturer. New assemblies will result in the same safety issue in a short amount of time. This could be a design flaw or a manufacturing flaw. . . Regardless, it is very dangerous!.

Driver's headlight quit working. Took it to dealer, they said it was the headlight. Wasn 't the headlight. Said it was the ballast. Worked for 2 minutes. They said that ticket was closed and charged me $650. They said next step was a headlight assembly. Have been trying to order one and it is no longer available. $1600 from dealer. Light had accumulated considerable moisture prior to the hid assembly failing. When the ballast was replaced the light failed again before I arrived home 3 miles away.

Moisture in drivers side hid headlight caused damage to ballast blowing headlight . Replaced ballast and bulb, but daytime running light does not illuminate. Headlight shorted out when car was started in morning.
Tamara recall I noticed that there was water in the front left headlight and as I was driving down the road the bulb burnt out. When I took the light out the water ran down into the ballast this the second headlight that I have brought and the same problems exist. This is very dangerous especially driving on a back dark road I did research on this problem and I noticed everybody was having the same problem. Gm had discontinued the headlight because they was aware of this problem. I think they should replace these headlights as it is a safety concern.
Condensation started in driver's side headlight to the point when light bulbs short out and are ruined as soon as they are put in. The water entering the electrical system is dangerous.
I recently got pulled over by the local police department that noticed that my driver side headlight was out as I was pulling out of my drive way first thing in the morning . After changing the headlight bulb ($100. 00)the headlight did not turn on. Under recommendation of the part clerk of my local parts store we looked at the headlight ballast ($300. 00). This vehicle headlight design somehow accumulates condensation within the headlight housing. The condensation some how gains access and accumulates into the ballast of the high intensity discharge lights which are mounted underneath the headlamp assembly. Leaving the vehicle with no headlights to operate the vehicle safely at night or under low visibility conditions. After replacing the light bulb and ballast the head lights still would not turn on. Somehow the entire headlight assembly needs to be replaced at an outrageous cost of over ($1,500) per headlight assembly. Due of the condensation and water damage the internal electronics of the headlight are not functional leaving the operator and passengers of the 2013 Buick Regal GS equipt with factory high intensity lighting in the dark.
I have had the driver's side hid headlight ballast replaced 3 times in 9 months due to moisture in the headlight assembly.
My hid headlight assembly has a seal leak, causing moisture to form in it every morning which results in the headlight electrical and headlight to burn out. The first time it was the drivers side, now the passenger side. The consequence is that inadequate lighting may reduce the visibility of the driver, thus increasing the risk of a crash. It should have been under the manufactory warranty.
We had the driver's headlight replaced under warranty due to it holding water. Once we got the car back and drove it at night, it was apparent that the light pattern was not the same. See photo. We were not able to see the road on the left side since the beam was essentially pointed down so I took the vehicle back and they said that the headlight was a new design and that's how it looks but they claimed to have adjusted it again. That week we drove to orlando at night and almost every car in the opposite direction would either flash their lights at us or honk their horn. I did a static test and the ledt light was illuminating overhead road signs at a distance of 50ft so we were blinding oncoming drivers. I contacted Buick corporate and they told me to take the vehicle back to the dealer a 4th time, once again I was told this is the new design but we will adjust it. As it stands right now, my left and right headlights are throwing 2 completely different light patterns, I still can't see the left side of the road and the high beams on the left side don't seem to illuminate anything at all. I'm a licensed engineer and accident re-constructionist that has subjected other vehicles to dot and sae headlight tests and these lights will not pass. It also causes undue stress on the the driver since the lighting pattern is no longer consistent across the front of the car. I would like some help in getting gm to acknowledge this issue and correct it since they are telling me that once my warranty expires in may, they are no longer responsible.
I have had problems with the stabilitrak - check engine light / multifunction indicator light coming on at random times (the on star diagnostic report doesn't give any indication of whats going on with the car so that regular people can understand before going in talking to a dealer about the issue) - powertrain issues I have had to replace my battery when I bought the car I was told it was newer and shouldn't have issues. My driver side headlight is full of water. There have been so many issues with this car yet no recalls have been found on my particular car. I read reviews from others and the 2012 Buick Regal just seems to have a lot of problems consumers such as myself should be entitled to a huge portion of cash paid for the defective vehicle. I thought it would be a safe family car but it just didn't turn out that way. I was afraid to take my family in my car for 6 months because I didn't know if I would we would be stranded. When I took my car to a certified dealer to get it repaired it was worse my car shook while I drove. Buick just isn't the car for me or anyone until they are able to create a safe car. Aesthetically newer model Buicks are nice but mechanically they are a bust.
The car was driven to a commitment (no rain) which started before sundown and ended at night, raining. Upon leaving the drivers headlight did not illuminate, when checked it looked to be shorted out due to water entering the lens assembly. Considering the car was not driven how did this happen? the car had no damages to the light assembly and none to the front of the vehicle, but water/vapor entered into the headlight causing no illumination to upper or lower beams. This caused limited vision & hazardous driving conditions on my drive home at night from the commitment. I was told by Buick this should not have occurred but they did have reported claims about this issue. The cost of the total lens replacement by Buick for the driver's side lens assembly was $1,143. 00 + labor. Do I expect the other side.
I have had the headlights replaced twice. Where you plug in the headlight (low beam), it melts and the headlight will not work anymore.
Both sealed headlight assemblies have failed and now have condensation inside of them. The lights are still functional but I am afraid of a short circuit. The dealer wanted $1,000 per headlight assembly to replace. This vehicle still has under 50,000 miles on it. It happened while it was just sitting there, but I do drive through rain.
Tl the contact owns a 2013 Buick Regal. Upon starting the vehicle, the passenger side headlight began blinking and went completely out. Upon inspecting the vehicle, the contact found moisture build up in the headlight, which he believed caused the failure. After some time, the driver's side headlight also failed to operate. The contact drove to autocenters Nissan (1825 e edwardsville rd, wood river, IL 62095, 618-251-3000) where he purchased the vehicle from and was informed that despite having an extended warranty, headlights were not covered under the warranty. The contact then drove the vehicle to an unknown Buick dealer (that has since closed) and was also informed that the headlights were not under warranty and was given a cost estimate for the repair. The manufacturer was not notified of the failures. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 82,000.
takata recall low beam headlights stopped working. But high beam works just fine.
Tl the contact owns a 2013 Buick Regal. The contact stated that the headlight assemblies kept filling up with water, which caused the bulbs to short out. Stoops Buick GMC (1251 quaker blvd, plainfield, in 46168, (317) 839-7771) replaced the headlight assemblies three times. The most recent replacement was last week. The dealer had not revealed how the water was entering into the headlight assemblies. The manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to NHTSA. The failure mileage was 35,000.
Tl the contact owns a 2011 Buick Regal. The contact stated that there was condensation in the headlights and they failed to operate without warning. The vehicle was taken to gilbert Chevrolet (3550 us-441, okeechobee, FL 34974, (863) 261-8947) where it was diagnosed that moisture was in the headlights and the headlight assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and provided case number: 95303514701. No further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was 46,579.
Moisture built up in the drivers side headlight cause the whole headlight assembly to fail. I paid to have it replaced last year and now the passengers side has done the exact same thing. It is a condensation problem causing the units to fail and should be considered a safety issue! when your headlight goes out without warning on a stormy night it is dangerous not only for you but anyone in the area around you since you have such low visibility. I still have the old headlight assembly if any one would like to review it or check for damage.
Takata recall I noticed that the driver side light keep getting condensation in it I noticed that everybody who have the GS model has condensation in causing the ballast to fill with water and causing the bulb to burn out and the ballast and bulb have to be replaced because of water entering into the headlight.
The contact owns a 2013 Buick Regal. The contact stated that the driver's side head light failed while driving. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the wiring had melted and the connector was replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure persisted and the same failure occurred with the passenger's side head light. The manufacture was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was not available.
Police stopped me due to missing passenger headlamp. As I was replacing said headlight, upon closer inspection, I noticed that the bulb wire harness were burnt black. The smell of burning was detected.
Passengers side head light and wire connected to it melted there was smoke in the headlight housing.
The contact owns a 2004 Buick Regal. The contact stated that the headlights failed to work. The multifunction lever headlight button had to be held in order for the high beam headlights to work. In addition, the low beam headlights would not operate. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but the failure could not be duplicated. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 114,000.

My wife's xenon hid headlight assemblies began leaking during moderate to heavy rain. The rain shorted out the ballast and the headlight went black. I replaced it and soon after, the other side did the same. The assemblies got worse and began fogging up during weather changes. Then, more ballasts went out. I went to gm and they said the assemblies are out of production and no longer available! this is not an old car. I found nos units on ebay and others, as well as used units from wrecked cars, but these were from $300 to $1,500 for each side! I checked online and noted that this appears to be a huge issue that has haunted many folks and gm is not addressing it. I had to order another ballast today, so I'm ordering two. I also found so-called aftermarket units in china, but during inspection I found they were actually made at hella specifications for gm in slovinia, but being sold as aftermarket in china for $700 a pair. This seems to be a major issue and if gm no longer supports a newer car, one is forced to by another car. I am out quite a bit of money with no help from gm /Buick whatsoever. How can this be allowed? this issue began in 2015!.

The contact owns a 2001 Buick Regal. The contact experienced several failures with the power windows ever since the vehicle was purchased. When entering the vehicle and proceeding to roll down the front window, the window stalled and was unable to be rolled back up. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and they stated that the regulator and the retainer were failing. The vehicle was repaired. The vehicle has failed eighteen times over the years since 2004 and each time the same part has been replaced. On April 16, 2009, the front passenger window failed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and they stated that the regulator failed. The technician bolted up the window. The contact was informed that she would never be able to use that window again and there was no remedy to repair it; therefore, it will continue to fail. The manufacturer stated that no compensation would be provided and the contact would be responsible for the repair cost. The failure mileage was 20,000 and current mileage was 50,000. Updated 7/9/09
the consumer stated the windows would make a clicking sound and then it would fall down into the door panel. During rainy weather, the drivers side door would not open, the headlights would not shut off and the check engine light illuminated. Updated 07/17/09.

Consumer states headlights failed while driving. Upon inspection, the dealer advised that the multifunction module switch, located in vehicle's steering column, had failed. Ts.
Headlights are to dim, and it is hard for driver to see while driving at night. Cause unknown. Dealer notified. Consumer states that the lights are dim on low beam only. (design problem) and that other gm vehicles have same problem and lights are good on high beam.
Recall notice was received & understood. But, certificate wasn't helping to correct the problem. Headlights on low beam didn't cover visibilty for driving which could be dangerous. High beams worked fine. Dealer has tried & no success.
When high beam lights are on, if you are in a shallow right turn and another vehicle approaches, you are unable to change to low beams. The headlight lever hits the steering wheel and will not change from high to low beams.
