Electrical System Problems of Cadillac CTS - part 2

In January Chevrolet burien did servicing on my vehicle. When I picked up my vehicle after 3 weeks of them having it; they gave it to me with a flat tire with several studs in my right front tire and there was an inch of water on the inside of the vehicle. I requested management and they denied me and forced me to move my vehicle off the property in fear of my life. The electrical components on the inside are no longer usable. There was mold all over the inside that seriously effected my asthma. Their management still has not contacted me about remedying this issue. They also damaged my glove box so that the water that they let leak into my vehicle wouldn't �build up� and cause more damage so they were completely aware that they were letting my car flood while storing it.

I went to Cadillac to get the recall fixed they said it was closed out and couldn't fix it and now I can't smog my car and I can't tell if I have gas or not and I'm scared to drive it without getting the fuel pump fixed.

The car caught on fire while driving in nyc at speeds of 10-20 mph first the car started to smoke in the front hood while turning left on 5th avenue. I got out of the car and the car was on flames. I have a dash camera and iphone footage of the incident. I bought this car from an authorized Cadillac dealership in June 2019 and the car caught on fire on christmas day 2019.

While the touchtone screen has failed twice and Cadillac has replaced it more important than that is the fact that the car was ordered with the carbon fiber wheel package and those wheels have cracked/ cant hold air pressure the dealer has replaced one but said they cannot replace the set of 4- my daughter has had 4 issues of tires going flat while driving- fortunately she has not had an accident yet but this is a severe safety issue that Cadillac doesnt want to resolve is there a recall or safety issue with these carbon fiber rims? my daughter no longer feels that the vehicle is safe and does not want to get in an accident wh she or someone else gets hurt - please help!.

After a 45 minute drive and returning home I parked my car on the street in front of my home. The car drove perfectly normal as always and there was no indication of anything wrong with the car. There were no warning lights or anything else to indicate a problem with the car. I entered my house and as I walked pasted my kitchen window I could see flames coming out from under the hood on the driver side of the vehicle it was only a couple of minutes since from the time I entered my house. Within 5 minutes the entire car was engulfed with flames. After the fire department extinguished then fire I asked what could have cause the fire. I was told it was probably an electrical or a fuel malfunction.

While driving, the cue system became inoperable and had a delayed response to touch. The vehicle was being driven on a highway travelling approx 65 mph. I pulled over to record video of the system not responding. Additionally, there are times when I put the vehicle in reverse and the backup camera doesn't not turn on as it is supposed to.

Tl the contact owns a 2003 Cadillac Cts. While driving various speeds, the vehicle suddenly shut off. After restarting the engine, the vehicle operated normally. The cause of the failure was not determined. The local dealer and manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 128,900.

Florida resident, but a spend summer in wyoming. I leave my 2 cars in my florida garage for the summer. Garage is not a/c so it gets hot. This year when I returned, I noticed my Cadillac cue system was not responding when I touched the screen. The cue system controls almost all functions of the car. The cue system would be operational for a few seconds when the car is first started and then it would freeze or lock up. When this happened it would change various functions of the car. For example it would; 1) program current radio station on additional presets, 2) change preset driver settings such as seat, steering wheel and mirror locations, etc. , 3) turn off automatic headlight functions, 4) turn off automatic door locking functions. Basically any function of the vehicle that can be changed as a user function thru the cue system, now is subject to be changed randomly while the car is being driven. Most of these functions that are randomly changed cannot be accessed except thru the cue system. Thus I no longer have control of my vehicle. Called dealer & made appt for service -- took car in on 10/17 -- dealer said they had to order new radio, had to match VIN# (not true) -- called 10/24 to see if they had part, they said not yet. -- went to dealer on 10/31, dealer said they did not know when they would get part, would call me. -- said I wasn't alone with this problem. -- dealer said would cost 1700 to fix problem -- as of 11/13 still have not heard anything. -- called Cadillac support 11/12, they said they would get back with me. Found out via user forums that Cadillac was aware of problem years ago, thousands of users have this problem. I was not informed of problem when I bought car; this is a safety issue and a fraud issue by Cadillac. Over 660,000 Cadillacs have this problem. No wonder they are having problems getting parts.

Car shuts off while driving at any speed or just when key is on. What exactly happens first car shuts off just like if someone turned key off. 2nd stabitrac light comes on for a few seconds 3rd shuts off cruise and will not let you use it for about 10 minutes 4th lockes doors. . . . If you are stopped and this happens you have to start it manually. . . . If you are driving it will shut off and start up by its self.

Tl- the contact owns a 2005 Cadillac Cts. The contact states the key will not come out of the ignition. The contact called a dealership (genesis Cadillac 19900 e 9 mile rd, st clair shores, mi 48080 (586) 772-8200) where an employee informed him that the vehicle, which has been placed under recall for this issue, can be repaired without bringing the vehicle in to be serviced. The vehicle has not been repaired. The contact has not contacted the manufacturer. The failure mileage was unknown. Jo.

While driving maybe 6 minutes my center console display would no longer function preventing me from being able to control the radio or air, which both remained functioning and the air bag light came on at the same time. The radio no longer plays but the air still blows. At the time this happened I was driving on a paved road at night going approx. 50 mph.

The contact owns a 2009 Cadillac Cts. While making a left turn, the contact noticed that the driver's side turn signal failed to function. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to cma's colonial auto center (located at 100 myers dr, charlottesville, va 22901, (434) 951-1000), but was not diagnosed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who stated that the computer chip needed to be replaced and reprogrammed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 35,000.

Vehicle battery is drained every 3 days.

The contact owns a 2014 Cadillac Cts. The contact stated that the vehicle's cue screen, which was the main control panel for many functions in the vehicle, suddenly froze without warning. On other occasions, the screen controls for the different features would move without the contact's consent. The contact called richard karr motors (located at 900 w loop 340, waco, TX 76712, 254-633-2866) and Cadillac of arlington (located at 2001 north collins street, arlington, TX 76011, 817-461-2222) and was informed that the failures were well known; however, there was no recall. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failures. The approximate failure mileage was 57,978.

Tl the contact owns a 2007 Cadillac Cts. The contact stated that the fuel and temperature gauges malfunctioned and the key was stuck in the ignition. The vehicle was taken to crestmont Cadillac (26000 chagrin blvd, beachwood, OH 44122, (216) 831-5300) where it was diagnosed that the computer system for the vehicle was faulty and needed to be replaced. The dealer also stated that an unknown recall repair needed to be performed for the ignition and key failure. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 95,223.

At about approximately 4:22 am this morning my car was engulfed in flames in my driveway. I was awakened by my Cadillac Cts 2003 car alarm as the flames we're visible thru my bedroom window. At which time I ran outside to turn on the water hose to turn off the fire as my family was sleeping in the house. My husband's car was right next to my cadi that had a full tank of fuel. I called 911 and the fire department arrived to turn off the fire on the Cadillac Cts 2003. And for more than ten minutes the fire was still blazing as the firemen unable to control the flames. My car is gone as it burned down. Please help me to understand why this happened. I only carried liability as this was all I could afford. I thank the lord that even when we were in harm's way, he jehovah god protected us. All the glory to jesus christ that their was no lost of life. Material things can be replaced. I am grateful to god for his mercy and grace. He has total control and I know that he was with us. I was not aware that these cars have a history of catching on fire. I am glad that we were not on the road when this happened. My mother suffered a stroke and this could of been more detrimental but god did not permit the hand of the enemy to touch us physically, halelujah to the lamb of god! I am blessed to be a child of god! I know that he will give us justice because he does not forsake his children and he is a god that does not lie. He is god emanuel! he is my shalom!.

Service airbag light on in vehicle, diagnosis says it is the passenger presence module. Through research, many others are having the same exact issue. The module needs to be fixed, not just replaced with another faulty module.

The engine continues to run even after shutting the car off and removing the key, the engine has just started to accelerate in this position in the last few days. The backup camera has stopped working and the reverse lights are on at all times (even while driving down the road). As of yesterday the power seats to be lagging, some of the buttons takes several tries to work.

~tl the contact owned a 2009 Cadillac Cts. The contact stated that the vehicle unexpectedly rolled backwards out of the driveway and crashed into a fire hydrant and a tree. Both the driver and passenger doors were bent. There were injuries. Auto star (4395 buford hwy, peachtree corners, GA 30071, (770) 446-8772) towed the vehicle away and declared it destroyed. A police report was not filed. The contact stated that the vehicle was included in NHTSA campaign number: 14v394000 (electrical system). The dealer was suing the contact for the remaining balance owed for the vehicle. The insurance company was not paying the claim because they stated there was a manufacturer defect that caused the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

My car alarm keeps beeping for no reason when parked. As soon as I start the car, the airbag light goes on. The dashboard warning light says that my tire is flat; so, I changed all four tires, and it's still giving drastically inaccurate readings often. Sometimes it says that my tire is flat-- 0 pressure, and sometimes, it says that it has low pressure. My programmed radio stations keep deleting from memory. I took my car to a repair shop to find out what's going on, and they can't figure it out.

Tl the contact owns a 2008 Cadillac Cts. While the vehicle was stationary, the electrical system failed and the control panel became inoperative. In addition, the power steering failed and the steering wheel was extremely difficult to turn left or right. Kuni Chevrolet Cadillac (2449 fulton avenue, sacramento, California 95825, (916) 538-7217) diagnosed that the power steering pump was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that there was no recall for the failures. The failure mileage was approximately 98,000.

The touchscreen of the cue system doesn't work.

April 4, 2018 to whom it may concern: this is my recollection at discovering that my Cadillac Cts 2015 got on fire at my friends home in shelby michigan on March 25th, 2018. On March 24th my wife (lourdes robles) and I arrived at our friends home at 48307 red oak in shelby michigan to celebrate our friends birthday. At the party there were approximately 10 couples from whom 5 where still there and witnessed the event. The majority of them work for the auto industry and some are general motors employees, including artemio cortez who is a global business director for gm. At 2:20 am we where preparing to leave and I used the onstar application to remotely turn on the vehicle so it would warm up before leaving. After saying goodbye to our friends at 2:32 am (according to the motion camera) we are walking out of the home and immediately noticed that my Cadillac was on flames. I couldn't believe the car was on fire and I ran towards the car until I noticed that the flames inside the vehicle were overwhelming. I asked my wife to inform our friends and have them move the 2 cars near our car: a Ford fiesta in the front and a Cadillac xt5 in the back. My wife nocked on the door and told our friend to tell the rest of the group so they could move the vehicles. At the same time I was making my first call to 911 (2:33 am) followed by a second call at 2:38 am. The owner of the Cadillac xt5 moved his car to a safe place in front of the house, the owner of the Ford fiesta didn't move the car to prevent any one from getting injured. The fire truck arrived at 2:43 am according to the copy of the report.

Per report tje suspension system and aorbag recall. When I purchased vehicle, information was warrant to me. I total loss my car due to suspension and axle malfuntion. It caused me to hit a curb. I could not gain control.

Evaporating system and lights and electrical.

I got into the car put key into ignition it would not start the key is stuck inside ignition I put a new battery in also a new stater relay fuse the car started I drove it over the weekend with know problem today while driving car stopped scared me really bad I tried to start it and the car did the same thing would not start and the key were stuck again I was on the city streets.

My 2003 Cadillac Cts caught on fire. Fireman said that it was the windshield wiper module that caught on fire. The car was parked for hours and fire started while we was sleeping. The whole engine is burnt up and the car is totaled. Now I have no car and no money to get another car.

My car has been in the shop due to engine issues, now that engine is replaced I'm seeing stabilitrak, service ac, and brake assist lights appear. Also when driving the speedometer is not engaged and car won't shift gears. Codes will not appear when hooked up to diagnostic reader and their is moisture that gets inside my car through the sunroof.

Intermittently the dashboard and interior trim lights are out and will resume at unforeseen times.

Our vehicle was stationary in the driveway of our home. In the middle of the night the vehicle caught on fire and exploded multiple times. Fire report/investigation list cause as unknown.

Both the heated seat option and seat/mirror memory settings stopped working suddenly.

The vehicle will stall while cruising to a stop light, while at idle and sometime while accelerating. I've read a lot of posts online about this issue but no one has a solution. I got stranded on the highway in the middle lane once too. Gm will not do anything about it. The vehicle is in the shop right now and my diagnosis fee its over $750 and there is still no resolution for this issue!!! this issue is an ongoing issue for years now!!!.

Passenger side rear window rolls down on its own in rain, car wash. Sunroof has loud wind noise. Window goes down while on and driving.

Car shuts down while driving on freeway/and city leaving me to have to put it in neutral to start back up. While car is rolling .
