Brakes Failed Problems of Cadillac Deville

The contact owns a 2000 Cadillac Deville. The contact stated that while driving 15 mph, the vehicle veered off the road and the brakes failed to engage. The contact was able to maneuver the vehicle back onto the road. The problem occurred numerous time. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or independent mechanic. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified about the failure. The approximate failure mileage was unknown.

I was traveling on the highway at approx. 65-70 mph when I went to brake due to traffic and there was severe brake fade. The car was able to slow down but could not come to a complete stop, the brake pedal went to the floor even after several pumps. I had to use the emergency brake to stop the vehicle. Luckily there was no accident. I still had to travel another 30 miles before reaching my destination and the brakes continued to fail. The brakes would only slow the vehicle down. This is the first brake problem I have had with this vehicle and only has 65000 miles on it. I have to contact a mechanic to resolve this problem.

The vehicle was jerking violently intermittently while traveling at any speed. The contact stated that the driver had the vehicle routinely repaired by an authorized dealer. The contact stated that the driver was traveling approximately 45 mph, the vehicle was jerking violently causing the contact to lose control of the vehicle. The brakes failed to stop the vehicle upon applying the brake pedal. The contact crashed into a tree violently. The driver was killed in the car crash as a result of the failure and injuries. The vehicle was destroyed. The contact sustained major head and bodily injuries that several days later resulted in a fatality. A police report was filed. Total brake failure due to mechanical breakdown on my 2001 Cadillac dhs. The failure happened between the connection for the brake pedal and the brake actuator. Result: zero braking. Please help me get this fixed. I have the bill for this repair. The failure was caused by an apparent failure of a "c" clip. I notified ntsb months ago and have yet to have a follow up, thank you for your kind attention to this matter.

Anti-lock brake system has failed 3 times. Dealer can't find anything wrong with vehicle. Brakes let go and will not stop vehicle. Consumer was going approximately 40mph in traffic, and when applying brakes to slowdown they failed, causing consumer to rearend another vehicle. Consumer was critically injured, and vehicle was totaled.

Brake failure caused crash. This vehicle was part of recall #97020 and the recall service was performed at 8,553 miles; this crash occured at approximately 16,000 miles.
