Dash Wiring Problems of Cadillac Deville

The vehicle's emergency flashers and turn signal lights continuously blew out without warning. Upon inspection of the vehicle, the dealership has found bare wiring in the wall between the motor and the dashboard, where the wires have been pulled through. The dealership has replaced the flasher unit and fuse several times but the problem still occurs. The cause of the lights blowing has yet to be determined.

There was a short under the dashboard and smoke was coming from dashboard. Contacted dealer who was not willing to do anthing. Consumer called roadside assistance who took down the info and never picked up the vehicle. The information was never passed on to the dispatcher. The fumes almost caused consumer to have a collision while going 65 miles per hour. Consumer has been experiencing problems with this vehicle since purchase. The engine light kept illuminating and the brake hose was loose. Consumer tried to have the dealer buy the vehicle back but they refused.

Instrument panel is not working any more. Consumer cannot tell/ read fuel level or speed on vehicle. Contacted dealer.

The contact stated the dashboard lights kept going out. The vehicle had to be restarted for the lights to come back on. Two separate dealerships inspected the vehicle for this defect since may 27, 2005. He contacted Cadillac, but the dealership could not diagnose the problem. The dealership replaced the dash cluster two or three times. It worked for a while, and then it went out again. This has been happening since purchase of the vehicle.

The air conditioning was too cold on passsenger side - closed vents - when comfortable they were opened only to find that there was now hot air coming out. The next series of events took place in a very short amount of time. The control for the headlights was dimming to off then going on, the air conditioning stopped working, the instrument panel digital display went out leaving no indication as to speed. The passenger noticed a glow in the door panel, this glow was a fire. I pulled on to the shoulder and we got out. I called indiana toll road for assistance and the fire was extingusted in a matter of minutes. The car is now at the dealer in oak lawn IL. And general motors is investgating the incident.

While drving vehicle wanders from side to side which could lead to loss of control. Also, the dash computer had to be replaced and rotors need replacing.

While making left turn in moderate traffic, instrument panel went black,temperature demand went to 75f,blower came on full with blast of very hot air; in driving to dealer incident recurred several times and traction warning light came on, though traction was not lost.

When driving the vehicle when the sun is out can't read the digital dashboard. It's hard to see the speedometer, and doesn't know how fast is going. Took vehicle to the dealer, and they are aware of the problem. But they said it was nothing they could do about the problem.

Computer malfunctioning activates brake and fuel level alerts. Yh.

Fuel light inoperable, computer part replaced to rectify. Yh.

Cluster display goes completely out. Driver has no visual way to monitor functions on instrument panel, speed and fuel levels can not be determined. Please give any further details.
