Wiring Problems of Cadillac Deville

Tl- the contact owns a 2002 Cadillac Deville. The contact stated that while an attempt to operate the vehicle was made the key was jammed in the ignition and the key could not be moved to start the vehicle. The failure occurred without warning. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where they refused to do the recall repair due to insufficient parts. The vehicle was towed to another dealer where the technician claim that they remedied NHTSA campaign 14v355000(electrical system) and replaced wiring harness however the contact was not provided with information supporting this. The manufacturer was not notified of the vehicle. The failure mileage was approximately 135,000. Kh.

Driver heated seat overheated causing burning smell. Actually burned the leather seat, no flame. Heated seat components all replaced as well a leather seat covers, seat & back.

The consumer noticed a noise emanating from under the left floorboard. Overtime, the minor noise became a loud noise which had come from the traction control system. This problem would happen intermittently upon acceleration. The mechanic attempted to repair the problem for the past two years. The vehicle would also experience a complete lost of power assist braking, and at times, the vehicle would lose drive train power causing the vehicle to coast through an intersection. The consumer have experienced this problem on a daily basis. The dealership was aware of the problem because they had secured the plug wires for induced voltage on the speed sensor wiring harness, a year or so later, the dealership replaced the electronic brake and or the traction control module.

When the driver put the key in and turned the ignition vehicle caught on fire. The fire department extinguished the fire. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.

The vehicle's wiring in the transmission burned up. The consumer also inquired about the radios bad reception clearing up when the turn signals were activated. In addition, the consumer wanted to was there any wiring defects with the vehicle.

The problem was faulty wiring caused by acid leaking onto the auto cables etc. The dealer service department was aware of this problem caused by these defective batteries, but Cadillac refuse to acknowledge responsibility for this, stating only that my warranty ran out! the problem is a defective battery!.

Wiring system failed, resulting in a short circuit which ignited a fire. Contacted dealer, and dealer was not willing to do anything.

Vehicle stalled on the highway five (5) times over three years regardless of speed. Dealer informed consumer the crankshaft sensor needed to be replaced. The dealer remained working on the vehicle and was uncertain about the sensor being the problem. The wiring harness was replaced. The vehicle seemed to run.

Electrical wires keep killing the battery. Would cause the battery to die out each & every time. Makes noises when battery is dying. Took to dealer & problem not found. Problem has happened at least 3 different times.
