1 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2015 Cadillac Escalade

Failure Date: 11/13/2015

The vehicle had virtually no brakes to stop it and 11,215 miles. General motors already had service warnings out to dealers dated 7/17/2015, gm document id #4242788. They say they replaced pads and rotors. At 23,589 miles the vehicle needed brakes again. Service manager tells us that this is a known problem at general motors. They have even issued a new warning for 2016 models. I consider the vehicle to be unsafe to drive in that the brakes can go out without any warning.

3 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2002 Cadillac Escalade

Failure Date: 07/20/2006

At slow speeds (<5 mph) the abs system engages during the course of normal braking. This results in the car being unable to stop within expected stopping distance and led me to bump into a car stopped at an intersection. The problem cannot be linked to worn brake pads as these were replacaed only 4 months previously. Dealer has been notified.

4 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2003 Cadillac Escalade

Failure Date: 08/01/2005

Consumer complained about a brake problem. Intermittently, while driving at 35 mph or above and if needed to come to an immediate stop it won't stop like it should. Took vehicle to dealer, and they said brake pads were fine, and they did need not take apart the abs system. Also, they checked a diagnostic machine, but it did not show any codes. Consumer's vehicle rear ended another vehicle due to brake failure. Noticed this around August 1, 2005.

5 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2002 Cadillac Escalade

Failure Date: 11/13/2004

The contact owns a 2002 Cadillac Escalade. Immediately after purchasing the vehicle on December 12, 2003, the contact felt a vibration while attempting to brake. The dealer stated that the brakes were the cause of the failure, but no repair was made. In June of 2004, the vehicle was returned to the dealer and they rotated, mounted, and balanced four new tires. After the repair, the contact noticed that the vehicle would not slow down when the brake pedal was depressed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer again and they stated that the rear brake pads needed to be replaced and repaired. The dealer repaired the rear brake pads, rotors, and rear brake shoes. This specific failure has been ongoing for the past three years. Recently, the contact experienced failure with the abs, which caused the brake pedal to extend to the floor. The vehicle would also accelerate and vibrate while braking. She returned the vehicle to the dealer and was informed that the hub bearings needed to be replaced and repaired. The vehicle is no longer being driven due to the constant failures with the brakes and abs. The current mileage was 110,000 and failure mileage was 50,000.

6 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2002 Cadillac Escalade

Failure Date: 06/25/2003

Rear brakes wore out with over 50% of front pads remaining. Ive owned over 30 cars and trucks in my life and this is a first. Dealer tells me its normal. Since historically 99. 99% of all vehicles perform 80% of braking with the front brakes it seems that there is something wrong with the brake balancing system on my car. Asked for Cadillac to put in writing that this is how these brakes were designed. They told me they dont do that. When I put my 3 â½ year old & 2 year old little girls in this car I want to know that it is safe and Cadillac is willing to say so in writing. I dont believe the brake system is right.

7 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2000 Cadillac Escalade

Failure Date: 06/10/2002

Front brake pads are wearing out excessively and needed to be replaced at 26,000 miles, dealer made repairs. The brakes on the front have inside and outside pads. The indicator which lets you know when you have worn out pads are on the outside pads. The inside pads were both worn out. Consumer feels if they would have waited for the indicator to annouce it was time for a brake change, the inside pads would have ruined the rotors. This vehicle needs to be equipped with inside and outside indicators.
