2 Brake Sensor problem of the 2002 Cadillac Escalade

Failure Date: 04/23/2017

The abs activates while driving less than 10mph and the vehicle will not stop. While driving 3 mph in wet or dry conditions, the abs activated when the brakes were depressed. This has caused a very dangerous situation with the vehicle failing to stop and rolling through stop signs and red lights. The only way to avoid this, is to begin stopping well in advance of desired stopping point and hoping it stops. The service stability light light comes on after driving vehicle for 10 seconds. It is preceding by a grrrrr noise which lasts around 5 seconds and happens 3 or 4 times before the light comes on. Also getting braking chatter, brake pedal coming up and being hard to depress. Is this vehicle included in the recall for the service brakes, hydraulic: antilock (NHTSA campaign id number 05v379000)? all brake pads, brake lines, and abs module and sensors have been replaced. Problem continues.

4 Brake Sensor problem of the 2009 Cadillac Escalade

Failure Date: 07/08/2016

Stuck throttle at 4000+ rpms: while passing a car on a straight two lane highway, the engine stayed at 4000 rpms or greater after the throttle pedal was released. No carpet or floor mat was impeding the throttle pedal. The pedal was pressed hard and release several times to try to disengage the throttle but rpms stay above 4000 rpms. The transmission was placed into the manual position but rpms continued to stay above 4000 for approximately 3. 5 miles and 2. 5 minutes with the vehicle uncontrollably going in excess of 90 mph. The brake pedal was applied throughout the stuck throttle event but the brakes became overheated and ineffective. Eventually the vehicle gear shift selector was moved into the neutral position and the vehicle coasted to a stop with the rpms still at 4000+ prms. While stopped the ignition was turned off and only then did the rpms go from 4000+ to zero. The Cadillac dealer stated they removed the throttle body and replaced the throttle body sensor to repair the stuck throttle issue.

5 Brake Sensor problem of the 2005 Cadillac Escalade

Failure Date: 02/14/2016

February 14, 2016 I was driving to work going about 50 miles per hour upon approaching 60 the vehicle begin to lose power so I steered over to the side of the highway and hit the onstar button to tell them that I was losing power and that would they run a diagnostic they stated that would. They stated also what they are going to check, braking system, engine, transmission etc. When they came back online me not know what they really did check I was told that all was a green light, so I proceed to continue on my way to work, but it happen again and I contacted them again and was told the same thing. Never once did they diagnostic only meant that they was just checking for codes and it was not a true diagnostic check. They also never offer to tow the vehicle home or to the dealer. I was able to get the vehicle home and took it to the first mechanic and was told that the yaw rate sensor needed replaced at $500 something didn't seem right so I took it to a gm certified mechanic and was told it was the hydo-boost, pressure hoses needed replaced at $2600 along on the phone back and forth with on star which claimed responsibility on star stated to me that gm tech wanted the vehicle taken to the dealership and that they would pay for the diagnosis to see what was the problem. So gm came and pick the vehicle up and transported to bommorito Cadillac of which they inspected the vehicle and report back to on star which stated that they wasn't responsible and that they believed that gm should handle it from here. To make a long story short gm claimed no responsibility for this even though you guy's and consumer affairs warned them about the issue with the braking system before and they done nothing about it even though it was a safety issue. My complaint that this issues should not be my responsibility nor the cost cause they new the potential of this failure.

8 Brake Sensor problem of the 1999 Cadillac Escalade

Failure Date: 08/13/2010

I have 1999 Cadillac Escalade with abs activation at low speeds, this is due to corrosion build-up between the abs sensor and wheel hub housing. Gm replaced many of these at no cost to the customers in canada. Well I live in minnesota, with salted roads. I have the same problem. Went to the dealer today and asked them to see if they could fix the problem at no cost, and their answer was no. Now I have hit my garage door twice, and the back of my garage wall once. My father has a 2000 yukon denali with the same problem. Why is there no real, this is a very serious and dangerous problem. . .

Abs system activated at slow speeds (<10mph). Resulted in braking chatter, brake pedal coming up and being hard to depress. Returned to dealer, had abs sensors replaced. Problem recurred (worse) within 8 mos, dealer informed me that abs sensors had not detected problem. Brakes worn. Would not verify abs issue until brakes replaced.
