4 Brake Electric Antilock problem of the 2002 Cadillac Escalade

Failure Date: 12/04/2006

Braking system on our 2002 Cadillac Escalade reverts to anti-lock mode at low speed 5 mph or less. This has caused a very dangerous situation with the vehicle failing to stop and rolling through stop signs and red lights. The only way to avoid this, is to begin stopping well in advance of desired stopping point and hoping it stops. I will be bringing in to be repaired however I would believe there should be a recall as this situation will if it hasn't already led to a death.

5 Brake Electric Antilock problem of the 1999 Cadillac Escalade

Failure Date: 03/21/2006

I own a 1999 Cadillac Escalade, I have had many near crashes due to the abs brake system not working at very low speeds. I was told by my local dealer there is a selective recall 05v329000 this recall is for salt states and only certain models. He told me my Cadillac was not one of the models, and did not know if penna was on the list. I see this as a direct safety issue, and do not understand why my Cadillac Escalade SUV is not listed with other SUV's and I definitely live in a salt state.

13 Brake Electric Antilock problem of the 2000 Cadillac Escalade

Occasionally when applying the brakes, the brakes lock up and the car begins to slide. This started a few months after buying the car -- it was returned to the dealer -- this has happened over and over again-- examples: braking suddenly on rough road ("the washboard effect"), braking on wet pavement while driving slowly through a mall parking lot - braking after leaving a car wash -- braking at a stop sign, braking suddenly anytime -- naturally this is very scary -- I do not want anyone (husband, children) to drive the car except myself as I have become attuned to the problem and am constantly aware that it might happen -- I have repeatedly taken the car to the dealer (I have the forms) my husband also had a meeting with the owner, john skinner -- they adjust the brakes and then tell me that I will just have to live with the problem - -I am aware of others who have had this same problem -- I was wondering if a recall might be a possiblity -- we have kept all the records where we have taken the car back repeatedly with this same problem-- the last time I went, they actually charged me to adjust the brakes (although this really doesn't help -- within a few days it had happened again) --I was told that Cadillac was aware of this problem and it had been fixed on the newer models of Escalades- now my original dealer has sold the Cadillac part of his dealership and I am going to have to deal with a new owner -- I would appreciate any help or feedback you could give me on this matter. I live out on a lake and have to drive my child into school and activities several times a day and purchased the car to be a safe mode of transportation for us. Thank you.
