While driving down the road under any condition the brakes start to apply themselves ultimately leading the vehicle to not being able to pull itself. The more throttle you give it the more the brakes apply. I believe this is the same as the 2002-2004 chevy hydro boost recall. Also around the same time the resistor for the blower motor caught fire while driving down the road.

Ever since the lifters broke in the new vehicle (which the dealer now tells us is a defect in the engine and that the lifters keep breaking; it was not a "bad delivery of lifters" as we were initially told), the car idles very rough and has power surges. Today sitting at a red light with the foot lightly on the break, the car lunged forward against the break during one of the power surges. If we had been closer to the vehicle in front of us, or if we had been up against a cross walk, there would have been a collision.

•available for inspection. Unknown exact system failure •issue regularly occurs •dealership service. Transmission had to be replaced at around 10k miles and covered by warranty. •no lights indicating any problems. Forward collision alert activated. Vehicle has a lag between the time pressure is applied to the gas pedal and it causes a delay in acceleration resulting in the vehicle sort of lunging forward unexpectedly. About 15-20 seconds after the gas pedal is pressed it will have a sudden burst of quick acceleration. It only lasts a few seconds and there’s no time to correct the sudden acceleration by braking. I finally realized the seriousness of the issue after I very close to being in an accident today as a result of the delayed acceleration. I was stopped at a red light and pressed the gas once it turned green, another driver happened to change lanes as soon as we crossed the intersection, moving to the front of my vehicle, probably closer than they should have but more than able for me to react under normal circumstances if needed. However, it occurred at the same time my vehicle randomly had a burst of acceleration and I had to swerve into the next lane to avoid hitting the car, because I wasn’t expecting to speed forward and did not have time to correct by braking. It happens about 40% of the time when going over 15-20mph (estimate) after I come to a complete stop and then press the gas to begin moving again. For example it won’t do it if I’m letting off the break to movie forward at a stop sign or lines, etc. It only happens when I accelerate with the intention of being able to reach the posted speed limit before I’d need to make another stop. Stop lights are the primary issue, as well as when exiting somewhere to get back onto the road, for example the gas station.

4/24/2022 vehicle locks in neutral in major roads as your driving and motor seized I have several videos last night as of 5/01/2022 vehicle locked into park as I was going 50 miles with oncoming traffic I was in fear of danger thank god was able to pull off into side ditch.
March of this year while on vacation in south carolina this vehicle had a partial brake failure at 2145 miles. It was repaired in charlestown s. C. At a Cadillac dealership and shipped back to rick hendrick Cadillac norfolk virginia. On 12/21/21 the same issues resurfaced one day prior to heading to south carolina for christmas. The vehicle was towed to rick hendrick Cadillac in norfolk virginia where it will stay. I have loss all confidence in the brake system on that vehicle. It will not come back to my home.
The brake assist function has been very sketchy and coming on unexpectedly and the emergency braking when reversing is malfunctioning and coming on unexpectedly with no need in error in a very hard/ fast stop. Yes its available for inspection. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? this puts my saftey as well as others at risk because the brake system is malfunctioning and at times unpredictable, and making quick/hard stops when not expected or necessary. The car was just in the dealership for repair of the break assist and I am sending it back in again because it is still malfunctioning. The vehicle has been inspected by the dealership. The brake assist light was coming on and off , sometimes but not all of the time and now that the car was serviced by the dealership the light is not coming on but their are still malfunctions. I do not feel safe driving this car.
I bought my 2016 Escalade and was told there was a safety recall on the car. After 3 days, I took the car to a Cadillac dealership to have the recall fixed. When returning to pick the car up, I was told that the vehicles ebcm unit was faulty and could not be updated, and that the module had to be replaced. I was also told that to do the update, the "flash" erased the module, so essentially, my SUV had no brakes so I could not take my SUV home. I was then called on following Monday (SUV was taken on a Friday) that the module is on backorder and there is no timetable for when it will be in stock. I had the car for 3 days, I am paying a car note for a car I dont have. I have been waiting for 2+ months for an update on the completion of my safety recall and still no answers.

When applying the brakes at a slow speed (>20 mph), the brakes seem “spongy”. The brake pedal seems to require further travel to stop the vehicle. It feels as if air is trapped in the hydraulic system and this does not happen all the time, it is an intermittent problem.
When driving on the city streets of chicago I approached a movable bridge which spans the illinois river. The bridge deck was constructed of steel. As I was about to begin crossing the bridge my car brakes locked up completely, sending the vehicle into a short skid. Fortunately, the car behind me was not tailgating me or I most certainly would have been struck in the back of the vehicle. This is a brand new vehicle which I took delivery of on may 14, 2021. There were no warning lights or indications that anything was malfunctioning on the vehicle. I can only guess that all of the steel in the bridge decking somehow was interpreted by my vehicle to be another vehicle, and automatically slammed on the brakes in the mistaken assumption that I was about to hit another vehicle ahead of me. In fact, there was not another vehicle ahead of me for about 100 yards.
I was travelling down the highway and the brakes failed to respond. I was able to deliver the car to a Cadillac dealer in holland michigan. At highway speeds with no breaks I believe my families lives were in danger. We have brought the car into the dealership multiple times for electrical system issues and I believe these unresolved issues have culminated in the failure of the braking system at high speeds. The dealer has stated that it was a vacuum pump and it has now been replaced but found no other issues with the electrical system. There was a warning light for the brake assist feature during the drive prior to the brakes not functioning. We reported this to the dealer during the drive and they made an appointment for the following Thursday (this was on a Saturday). We were not notified at the time of the call that this issue could put our lives in danger or that we should stop driving the car.
The contact owns a 2004 Cadillac Escalade esv. The contact stated that the abs and traction stability warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer and was diagnosed with needing the shocks and struts replaced. The vehicle was repaired but continued to experience the failure. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and was awaiting a response. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.
The service abs brake please see dealer message has come up on my dash 3 times in the past 5 weeks. Each time the message appeared the vehicle operated very strangely when braking, the whole vehicle shook and made weird noises so I immediately turned around went home and grabbed our other vehicle. I then called Cadillac and made an appointment at jake sweeney Cadillac in lebanon ohio for service. The first two times they said they fixed this issue the most recent time they said they found no codes and were unable to figure out why this message appeared on my dash.
Breaks went to the floor and car went down embankment.

Vehicle is affected by steering and breaks the car jurks.
At low speeds the brake pedal becomes very slugs if pressed quickly for sudden stop, wile the truck continues to travel for a short distance.
My car was the subject of a brake recall n192268490, I have had it to the dealer in flemington gm twice, the last time approximately 2 weeks ago. My car was kept for nearly 10 days and I still have a problem with the brakes, specifically hard braking and prolonged braking distance. Today at 1045 am I called customer service at Cadillac gm and they were completely unhelpful telling me to bring it back to the dealer again. I need this fixed in a competent fashion.
While all electronic safety features were engaged, vehicle failed to slow down properly, even with last minute hard breaking by driver, vehicle crashed and rear ended another vehicle. Dashcam footage available upon request.

This is for safety recall in oct 2019- regarding the brakes- it has already been made aware to dot. This is in regards to getting a refund for my almost 4k out of pocket expense. The brakes went out completely in sept 2019 ( in 5-7 mph I could not stop in traffic even with them all the way pushed to the floor. And caused a front end collision ad the brakes been working normally this would have never happened. I was wondering what I needed to do ( or if I can ) to get reimbursed for the damages that I incurred on fixing my vehicle. ( around 4,000). Or if I need to notify Cadillac of this issue. Also the vehicle went in for repairs after the recall was issued ( we were never told or advised by the dealer that there was a recall open) and have no idea why the dealer would not even tell us, or advise us of such.
The first time I pushed my brake pedal and the brakes did not employ got a few seconds. I pulled over and called lafontaine Cadillac service department to tow the car. The car dash displayed a power assist problem. They picked up the car and replaced the vacuum pump which fixed the problem. About 6 months to a year later, the same problem happened again. The brakes were pushed and the car brakes did not deploy for a few seconds. It was like the car was skidding on ice when no ice existed on the roads. It was warm outside. The car again displayed brake assist issue. I took the car back to lafontainr Cadillac, and they replaced the vacuum pump again. A few months later, the brakes were pushed again in a driveway when the car was going maybe 3 mph or less. The brakes did not deploy for a second or so and the car appeared to be sliding. This happened also in the summer. The car again is at lafobtaine Cadillac, highland michigan. My car is a 2017 Cadillac Escalade esv.
Sometimes while braking it needs much more force, meaning I have to push the brake all the way down. Also it feels like they stick at times. I saw there was a recall on the 2015-2018 for this issue but it may go back further.

My primary concern when shopping for this vehicle was safety, so instead of purchasing the comparable GMC denali, I chose the Cadillac with the premium luxury trim level. The Cadillac website advertised, and the autonation Cadillac west palm beach salesman assured me, that the premium luxury package included low speed forward automatic braking. this safety feature was important to me and was not available on the GMC denali. After purchasing the vehicle, there were unrelated issues which prompted me to bring the car in for service several times. Through that process, I learned that my vehicle was not equipped with low speed automatic braking even though the rest of the features of the premium luxury trim level appear to be included. The service technician informed me during my last visit that my vehicle was not in fact equipped with low speed automatic braking. I write you this letter both as a frustrated consumer, but also as a concerned citizen. I can only wonder how many other customers are driving around thinking their vehicle is equipped with low speed automatic braking. I escalated my concern to general motors in July 2019, but they denied my request to investigate this issue on July 17, 2019. I also contacted the dealership (autonation) but have been unsuccessful in resolving this as they have been largely unresponsive. General motors and Cadillac continue their deceptive advertising tactics to this day. If you to visit their website, you will find the inconsistency between the different trim levels of this vehicle. The terminology is deceptive and confusing to the average consumer. There is a safety feature called low speed forward automatic braking and one called forward/reverse automatic braking. not only is the difference between these 2 features confusing to a lay person, but my salesman didn't know there was a difference.
This is third time I have noticed a solid rock hard brake pedal feel and the vehicle did not appear to slow when I was trying to apply the brakes.
It has happened several times , while driving in a parking lot at 10 mph while making a turn the engine shut off, lost steering and brakes and the stabilitrak warning light came on. . . The engine restarted in about 5 seconds. . . I contacted Cadillac main office lawanda 855-880-1400 ex 5911833 and sent a email to mary barra ceo. . . They gave me a case # 9-5065905042 they are aware of the problem and recalled over one million vehicle but my VIN number has not been added yet. . They will not fix it till gm adds my VIN to the national recall #18289. . . I was told off the record that money trumps consumer safety. . . . They are making us pickup the car with the knowledge by us driving the car could kill someone if we loose steering and brakes while driving. . .
When coming to a stop and braking (at lights and stop signs) vehicle sometimes feels like it slips then brakes kick in. Been happening for a long time now. Its very comparable to the recall on the 2015-2017 models that were affected. Also another common issue I have is the power from the cigarette lighters going out plenty of times. * another note it isn't just one set date as it is asking below**.

I pulled into the garage and pushed the button to turn the engine off. The vehicle was still in drive. All doors locked when they were closed. I could not open the door with the button on the door handle even though the fob was on me. I went to the back to open the rear hatch. I could not. The vehicle stated to roll backwards - there is no incline in the garage - it is flat. I used the fob to unlock the door and I was able to get into the car and put it in park. I have video from my outdoor camera.
