Structure Problems of Cadillac Escalade

S10 dot/I: letter from congressman cline on behalf of constituent regarding the difficulty she is experiencing with her 2015 Cadillac Escalade (attn: kjersten croke). The consumer stated the vehicle's radiator leaked due to excessive recycling of the thermostat. Coolant was leaking from the radiator tubes. This failure was repaired per the technical bulletin 9i1513e. The vehicle would vibrate. Repairs were attempted, but the vibrations recurred. The trim on the drivers side was loose. The interior and exterior lights would remain on after the vehicle was powered off causing the battery to die. The dealership was unable to determine the cause of the failure.

Dash pad lifting. Was advised from Cadillac that the dash pad lifting could possibly be coming from the air bag.

Second lemon from the texas plant. First was 07 GMC yukon with massive electrical problems. This new Cadillac, also made in arlington, has had several issues with the same rear pass door, door latch, window seals and warped door frame. After multiple trips to dealer the problem still exists. Both auto running board motors have needed replacing and parts have been changed out several times. After a few thousand miles all 8 lifters in the engine needed replacing and now the truck is sluggish and "out of sync". The air conditioner went out after a few hundred miles and required an entire new hvac system, new hoses, mounts, vents etc. The front pass leather seat needed replacement because of poor quality. The paint in several areas has flaked and has been to the body shop three x's for paint repair. Gm has been forced to take it back under the lemon law in calif. Back to back problems from the texas plant on separate gm products, both brand new and driven less than 10,000 miles per year. Never buy anything built in the texas plant, there seems to be big issues there.

2002 Cadillac Escalade spare tire fell off the under-carriage as I was turning into my home driveway this is a full size tire and rim approx 50# if this would have happen on the expressway or major traffic route someone could have been hurt. Took the car to the dealership and they advised they never saw anything like this before and had know idea how to repair it. This spare is hung by a bolt and twisted cable both which rusted thru this is what caused the tire to fall off. My car is maintained by the dealer and has 45,000 miles on it fyi.

- the contact stated that upon receiving thec 2007 Cadillac Escalade with 3 failure miles the retractable steps on both sides of the vehicle were not working. The contact heard a humming sound while driving, as if the steps were attempting to slide out. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be repaired, but there still had been no resolution to the problem. There have been 2 falls, resulting in injuries due to the retractable steps not working. The vehicle has not been repaired.

2007 Escalade makes a rattling noise at front and rear doors. The dealership acknowledge there was a problem, however they were unable to solve it.
