Driveshaft Problems of Cadillac SRX

The drive shaft needed to be replaced at 65,000 miles. The headlights look like they are not on at night when you are driving. There have been 2 class action lawsuits won in California and florida for these defective headlights. I don't know why they would not include all the cars that had these headlights because they are all defective. If I would have known this I would not have bought the car. I have owned it 4 months and the touch screen cracked, driver assist seat control stopped working, the drive shaft needed to be replaced and the headlights do not look like they are on at night. I feel like I have to drive with my high beams just to see adequately and safely.

The contact owns a 2005 Cadillac Srx. After purchasing the vehicle from an independent dealer, the contact took the vehicle to a certified Ford dealer. The technician diagnosed that the engine light was illuminated and the drive shaft couplers, power steering, front wheel bearing, and motor mounts were all defective and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was returned to the independent dealer who refused to repair the vehicle. The manufacturer was not notified of the failures. The failure mileage was approximately 109,916.

Car jerks and shudders heavily when accelerating at 2000 rpm or between 40 and 60 mph. Changed to new drive shaft, transmission rebuilt but nothing works. It is a serious safety concern. It happens at highways.

Car was making whistling/howling sound between 30mph-45mph. Thought possibly a breaking in issue, but continued after 1200 miles and was most prevalent at stated mph above. Shop stated bearing issue in drive shaft and entire drive shaft must be replaced. Concern over effect to other power train parts connected to defective drive shaft. Could not be driven until parts replaced. Definitively, a safety issue.

The contact owns a 2008 Cadillac Srx. While driving approximately 35 mph, the contact noticed that the vehicle was pulling and assumed that he struck something. Approximately one month prior to the failure, he noticed fluid on the floor of his garage. The vehicle was driven to the dealer and they stated that there was a leak in the driveshaft. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified and stated that the vehicle was not included in any recalls; therefore, they were not liable for the repairs.
