1 Fog Light Switch problem of the 2016 Cadillac SRX

Failure Date: 12/02/2020

The low beams on my 2016 Cadillac are extremely dim and unsafe for night driving. This has been an issue for several years. It is a luxury model with no fog lights. This problem should be the corrected by gm/Cadillac and not the owner. This is an extremely expensive repair and is causing serious issues with many Srx owners. Previous years are covered by a recall, for some reason this is not.

3 Fog Light Switch problem of the 2010 Cadillac SRX

Failure Date: 04/01/2020

There is already a class action lawsuit regarding the headlights fogging and dimming while driving on this model vehicle. Both driver side and passenger side lights fog, which causes the headlights to both dim and go out causing thousands of dollars worth of repair. I have now had to have mine replaced twice due to fogging in the headlight assembly. This problem happens regardless of being stationary, parked, indoors or outdoors, driving or not. However, the class action was only settled for michigan and florida - Cadillac has admitted there is a problem, but will not fix the problem in other states.

4 Fog Light Switch problem of the 2012 Cadillac SRX

Failure Date: 06/28/2019

The low beam headlights do not put out enough lighting upon the road to safely navigate at night. I have replaced the bulbs, but that didn't help any. I have also installed a set of aftermarket fog lights which helps a little bit, but not so much when it is raining or when encountering glaring lights from oncoming traffic. I have read that if you buy and replace the entire lens assembly that will fix the issue of water leaks into the assembly, but mine don't look like there has been any moisture inside. The average costs of that entire part is over $300 each. The problem seems to be that the round lens within the assembly appears to be a magnifying-type lens that resembles the type of privacy glass commonly used for shower doors and windows. I drive with the high beams on until challenged by oncoming traffic, but then when I respond accordingly I must come almost to a complete stop or risk leaving the road altogether.

5 Fog Light Switch problem of the 2014 Cadillac SRX

Failure Date: 05/11/2019

The low beam headlights are so dim that I cannot see without high beams on. I almost crashed on a winding road when switching to low beams because of on coming traffic. I bought new bulbs and still no good. Did not drive at night for 6 months before purchasing fog lights to assist low beams. Gm should have a recall before someone else looses their life like the reported law suite in florida.

6 Fog Light Switch problem of the 2015 Cadillac SRX

Failure Date: 01/02/2019

Purchased factory certified 2015 Cadillac Srx 11/2018. In 12/2018 one dim headlight stopped working. In 1/2018 2nd dim headlight quit working makin it difficult to see without bright lights. Fog lamps also stopped working. Truly a safety matter. Search of internet shows many other Srx's with same problem with no factory fix. Class action suit filed in California only. Problem is moisture entering housing where bulbs are mounted. Cadillac dealer could not state why dim headlights and fog lights don't work. Makes driving hazardous when bright headlights can't be used. Dim headlights and fog lights do not work at all.

7 Fog Light Switch problem of the 2015 Cadillac SRX

Failure Date: 11/27/2018

I twice complained to dealership that the lights were not illuminating and I had to drive with my brights on. Twice they did nothing. I was pulled over by a police officer who told me he thought I had only my fog lights on and not head lights. This car does not have fog lights and the officer was shocked that the Cadillac had such a poor set of headlights. I returned to the dealership who handled it in a terribly u. N. Professional way and told me the headlights are not covered under extended warranty. I reminded them that when I first started the complaints the original manufacture warranty was in place. A sales person from the dealership suggested that I should buy a different Cadillac to fix this issue. It's appaling to me to find a lack of customer service from Cadillac I bought a Cadillac to support buy american - I could not be more disappointed. My friend drives a Lexus and is constantly telling me how great their customer service is. To say that am incredibly disappointed in Cadillac is an understatement. I write this as I wait to hear from Cadillac. I brought my car there and asked them to drive it at night- it's time for it to be inspected. Let's see if they are willing to put their name on an inspection. I have a beautiful Cadillac that is not safe to drive in the winter months past 4:30 n the afternoon. This is unacceptable. The lights do not illuminate. In order to see the road I have to drive with brights on - I have even pulled onto the shoulder of the road so I can get out and check if the lights are on. This is so unsafe. I have to keep up with other traffic at night so I can use their headlight illumination as a way to not have to drive with my brights on - I do not want to cause unsafe situation for other motorists by driving with my brights on.

9 Fog Light Switch problem of the 2011 Cadillac SRX

Failure Date: 08/08/2017

The headlights are both full of moisture and they keep shorting out and don't work allo the time. I called cadillazc dealer and they want $4500. 00 to replace them. I can n ot get after market headlights. They have motors in them which move when car turns. I heard that there is a defect in in them an d gm has not said anything about it . Not sure if this is gtrue or not but I can't see the price to replace them and im disabled ,retirfed and soun ds like the price is out of this world and feel like they are price gouging!!!! took them apart an d dried them out but moisture came right back in both headlights again. Can not see any defects in lights but moisture is still getting in and causing lights not to work. Been driving around with fog lights but I no this is not safe and something is wrong for both lights to fill up with moisture. Cadillac dealer (hill Cadillac in newtown square PA said they are not covered under extended warranty and car only has 50,000 plus miles on it and headlights fill up with moisture and short out. The price to replace them is outragious and heard that still might not correct it????.

10 Fog Light Switch problem of the 2010 Cadillac SRX

Failure Date: 11/14/2014

After a rainy day, I was driving to work in the morning and the alert on my car said to check left low beam. When inspecting, I noticed that it was not turning on. I went to the auto store to check on light bulbs and then confirmed that the fuse's and the light were working perfectly fine. After attempting to set up an appointment with a dealership to check on the light, the car headlamp suddenly started working again. Now as of 01/23/2015 another few rainy days and now both of my headlamps are out along with the high beam lights. Luckily my fog lights still worked to get me home safely at night.
