My headlights are to dim, unable to see when I'm driving in the streets and highways. I have to switch to high beam due to my safety, but I'm disturbing other cars which I can cause them to have a accident as well. Also I can get pulled over by a cop any minute. I been having this problem since day one when I purchase the car over a year ago but I thought this was normal on this particular car. Plus I never made it a big deal due to I had no choice to continue driving it cause I couldn't return it. So we just decided to use the car just during day time. But lately we be using the car during night time now is becoming a problem.

While operating the 2015 Srx4 last night on an interstate then two lane state road in a light rain, the low beam headlights barely illuminated the roadway. The brights were fine but when meeting oncoming traffic and switching to low beam, it was if the lights were not working at all. There were several times that I could not even see the painted lines on the side of the road. It was extremely dangerous and unsettling. Today I find online that there are numerous complaints about the low beams being unacceptable and dangerous. I concur. The poor quality of lighting will end up causing an accident or getting someone killed. This appears to be a known problem to Cadillac and gm.
Purchased used 2013 Cadillac Srx in 2016. Noticed that night driving was very difficult using low beam headlights. High beams are great. Tried headlight adjustments, cleaning, etc. Nothing helped. Took vehicle to dealer who informed me that headlight assemblies need to be replaced due to known internal lens defect which switches when lights are switched from low to high beams. Dealer wanted $1,350 for repairs. Took car for 2nd opinion. Confirmed issue. Shop was able to install high intensity bulbs to somewhat compensate for the lumens projected through the lens. This is a serious safety issue! I was struggling to see while driving at night. I live in the country and have limited access to lighted streets. I also noticed a severe inability to see when driving on well lighted highways at night because my headlight beams projected no further than 35 feet in front of my car. How many people have to have accidents and potentially die to ensure a recall?.

Aug 2018 I noticed my low beam lights were barely visible, like I was driving in the dark with no lights on. I switched to high beams and could see very good, but then switched back to low beam and it was still the same. . . . Very poor lighting. I had the bulbs changed out in oct 2018 for $200, but this did not fix the problem. I had the relay switch replaced, but this did not fix the problem. I have had situations where objects or people were on the side of the road, but I did not see them until the last second when I was right there at them because of the poor lighting. I cannot continuously drive with my high beams on at night just to see where I am going. This is a bad safety issue on one of the top of the line vehicles. . . . Low beams could cause me to wreck, hitting someone or something because of poor lighting and high beams makes me blind the oncoming traffic causing them to wreck hitting someone or something. I am told that the headlight assembly needs replacing because of the poor seal quality letting moisture in causing the faulty low lighting. There should be a recall on this because this is a manufacturer problem/error. I should not have to pay $1500 to fix this when I did nothing to cause it. Cadillac/gm needs to step up to the plate and recall this defect they created and correct the problem before someone is accidentally hurt or killed.
While driving through the neighborhood at night, the car has a feature to switch between high beam headlights and low beam headlights. The feature works fine, however, the difference between the high beam light and the low beam light is extremely dramatic and this makes it almost impossible for a persons eyes to readjust and focus to see at the low beam setting. The low beam lights are dangerously dim. They do not illuminate the stop signs as the driver approaches. I had to slow down to a dangerously slow speed in order to see the street signs. I bought the car 5 days ago used and didn't realize that this was a problem for this particular car. In the past 4 days, I have had the car back to the dealer 3 times to see if they can help get the low beams any brighter. They cannot!! the service manager came out to talk with me and showed me pictures of the 'housing' for the low beam lights and there are metal brackets in the way of the light, which he explained will force the light to cast too far down. This is why street signs are impossible to read at night while driving this car. Please recall it and fix this problem! the service manager did not give me a copy of the pictures or I would include them. . .

My certified 2015 Cadillac Srx left the dealership as an unsafe vehicle! the headlights (or lack thereof) are barely visible at night or in the rain. While using the headlights, there is not much difference when the switch is off or when it is on. This has led to several "close calls' while driving. In researching this problem, it appears there are tens of thousands of 2010-15 Srx's that have unsafe headlights. But yet, no recall. I am wondering how many more complaints it will take? then to add the two lawsuits, and still nothing except for a half-hearted letter from Cadillac "offering" to reimburse the out-of-pocket expense to fix the problem. In review, I purchased my first Cadillac, expecting a top of the line vehicle. In return, I now have a vehicle that I can only drive during daylight hours and sunny weather.
I bought a used 2010 Cadillac Srx last December, drove it for about a week the noticed driver side headlight was out so went to autozone to check price of bulb $100 no way, so checked ebay and got 2 for $25. Headlight worked fine for about another month and driver side light went out again so I tried replacing it with the other bulb and it didn't work. Took vehicle by local Cadillac dealership and they told me it sounded like the ballast was bad which costs $225 just for part and $444 total w/labor. Told dealership to go ahead and replace it and headlight still didn't work. Dealership said condensation was in light causing it not to work and I needed a headlight replacement with total cost of $1700 which couldn't afford just for a headlight so I found one online for $275 and installed it myself and it worked fine for about another month now out again. Heavy rain for 3 days and I'm wondering if moisture is inside it because I removed the bumper again and switched bulbs from good side and put on bad side and bulb not working but bad side bulb is working on good side. I'm also going to replace the relay fuse to see if that work. Don't see why there is not a recall on this since there are so many complaints.

My wife and I own a 2013 Cadillac Srx and when we use the low beam headlights they don't provide enough illumination to allow us to see the highway, forcing us to use the high beams but we have to switch back to low beams when we approach a vehicle or come within a couple car lengths behind. I have been on the internet reading about how this has been an ongoing problem with this model Cadillac. This is my first Cadillac and I will have to say will be my last. Supposedly all dealers are forcing the owners to absorb the repair cost themselves ($1500. 00 to $1700. 00) I have yet to take my vehicle back to the dealer and doubt seriously if my extended warranty with cost gard will do any good. I'm really surprised at the response that gm has taken on this very dangerous problem. We dread driving the car at night, we are constantly having to drive with our high beams on. Would you please investigate this problem.
Headlights are so dim that I have to drive with brights on continuously at night. When oncoming traffic signals me by blinding me, I switch to dims and have to guess at where the road is. This is unacceptable. The vehicle was brought in while still under basic warranty. Problem not resolved. I even purchased an extended warranty. No help there either. I am paying for a vehicle that I cannot safely drive at night. No way I can let my kids use this vehicle at night. I am deeply disappointed.
Low beam headlights very dim and have been since the vehicle was new in January of 2015. Contacted dealer and was informed this was a common problem with the Srx for which there was no fix. On my third set of aftermarket halogen bulbs with only marginal improvement. Consider it somewhat dangerous to drive this vehicle during night time hours. This issue happens with headlight switch in automatic or when selecting the "headlight on" position. Headlights also appear to be aimed too low but dealership chose not to verify and there dopes not appear to be an adjustment screw; the manual states that the dealer's body shop should aim the lights.
Vehicle driving headlights provide extremely low level of road illumination which is extremely dangerous such that it is necessary to switch to high beam in order to illuminate the road sufficiently to drive safely! Cadillac dealership states that the lighting level is acceptable. As you know, driving with high beams can be dangerous as well when on local roads and neighborhoods in order to see the road safely.
