The service airbag light is now on and I notice numerous other complaints for this vehicle including injuries. Cadillac dealer says they wish to charge for diagnostics and believe it is a seat-belt pretensioner which they would not cover. Repairs would be as much as vehicle value. I notice a recall was ordered for vehicles one or two years newer with the exact same issue. Why not extend to this years same evicle model.

Takata recall -airbag light comes on and goes off on my 2005 Cadillac Sts. . I am afraid to drive my car.

My airbag light is on and it remains on the passenger side and they want to charge me over a $1000. 00 to fix it. This occurs while in motion and stationery. My car does a hard jerk when stopping on brakes it jerks from the rear end.

Service airbag light stays on.

Air bag light came on and the dic indicates the air bag requires service. Upon investigation, the passenger presence sensor in the passenger seat is shot. The air bags are disabled and it's a thousand dollar repair at the dealer. Rarely does anybody sit in the passenger seat. It appears that this passenger side sensor is a common failure in other gm models as well.

Tl the contact owns a 2006 Cadillac Sts. The contact stated that the air bag warning indicator illuminated and remained lit. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, but the cause of the failure could not be diagnosed. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was contacted and informed the contact that they would communicate with them once a solution was determined. The contact never heard back from the manufacturer. The failure mileage was approximately 110,000.

I had the service air bags light repaired at 55,000 miles now have 70,000 miles and have the same problem if my car was a 2005 cts and not a Sts Cadillac would repair it. I am driving a car with out air bag protection. I never owned a foreign car and now see why the are so popular. No more american built cars.

Went to start up my 2006 Sts-v today. After a few blocks of driving my airbag light came on. Another few seconds passed and across the message board it said service airbag system.

Started car to pull out of garage airbag light came on. Took to dealer who said airbags are disabled and new module needs changing at cost of $900. 00.

Passenger seat occupant sensor stops working, disabling the passenger airbag. 2006 Cadillac cts were recalled but the Cadillac Sts uses the same system but was not recalled. Airbag light came up while driving under normal conditions and its giving the error code associated with the occupant sensor mat system.

Passenger side airbag sensor is not working . Refilled gas tank when restarted car service airbag light came on . Seems to me something gm should fix.

Since may 2015, going down the road the air bag light comes on, then again in June 2015 going down the road the light comes on again and stays on. Once again , in July lights comes back on and stays on has not gone out as of 21 July 2015. . We brought the car in 2014 with only 19,000 miles, the car now only has 32,500 odd miles on it. We need to know if it has a recall , do not feel safe driving it as of now. . . We do see that there are recalls for the years off 2000-2008. . .

Air bag light came on in vehicle when no one was sitting in vehicle and has been on ever since. I took the vehicle to dealership paid to have problem diagnosed was told. Passenger seat pressence system failure. Quoted price for $900 to repair. I researched online saw recall for cts from 2005-2007 however not fro the Sts. I contacted gm. Was called back in 48hrs to be told they do not help with fixing anything that is not under recall. Can you please recall the Sts as well. I see so many others reporting the same thing. This is ridiculous. Its the same airbag system as in the cts. This is an important problem. I purchased this vehicle becaus of the safety features. Nothing in the manual says this would need to be serviced or replaced.

I notice that my airbag light came on and a message saying service airbag soon, so I went to a mechanic and he told me that I can push the reset button and it should go off, well we pushed it and the light never went off. A week or two later I heard gm was doing a recall for that some problem but on later model luxury cars.

Air bag light constantly stays on, along with the check engine light. Seat belt chime constantly rings with the seat belt connected. Gas low notification light does not come on until on empty. No heated seats. I think the ecm needs to be reset. Sun roof goes up but not slides open. Passenger side door won't open. Automatic car starter doesn't work. 2 years ago, my son in law, started this car in below zero temp and it started on fire. He put it out and restarted it and it was ok. At approximately 72,000 miles my Cadillac's passenger seat light began to act up and would go on and off when someone would sit in the front passenger seat. I am single and rarely ever have a passenger in the front seat. Approximately two times per month someone rides in this seat. I understand that the same problem occurred in the Cadillac cts model of the same year. My question and complaint are: did the modules come from the same place and/or are they the same module and passenger presence system. Why wouldn't my Cadillac Sts be included in that recall when I see that this has happened to so many other Cadillac Sts models of the same year.

The contact owns a 2007 Cadillac Sts. While driving approximately 45 mph and when a when a passenger was in the seat the passenger side air bag light was off. The vehicle was taken to the dealer three times. Once the dealer calibrated the sensor, a second time they advised him that they could not duplicated the failure. After leaving the dealership the failure happened again. He took the vehicle back to the dealer who stated that he performed a diagnostic test but the vehicle showed no failures. He called the manufacturer and they referred him back to the dealer. The failure had occurred since last month. The vehicle was at the dealer when the complaint was filed. The failure mileage was 26,025 and the current mileage was 26,900.

Purchased as a "program car" 5/21/08 with 7017 miles on odometer, auto has been a constant source of trouble which selling dealer crest Cadillac of venice, FL seems unable to correct. Myriad problems occur but fail to register on recorder which prevents corrective action. I do not fault dealer staff but blame overall problem on Cadillac's refusal to consider defective interactive computer network from stupidity or cupidity. On the last trip to the repair facility eleven items were addressed with three not being addressed with problems not listed in recorder or unable to be duplicated. Since Mar. 20, 2010 most of the problems have recurred and I have recorded 16 specific malfunctions to date some of which I consider to be safety concerns. E. G sudden failure of cruise control system and/or difficulty in disengaging it; repeated attempts required to open windows and lock or unlock doors; malfunctioning of windshield wipers; with 125 lb. Wife in front passenger seat, "passenger air bag off" indicator is lighted. Is indicator faulty or is passenger air bag inoperative when it should be functional? I have a large dossier documenting numerous trips to the dealer to address over twenty issues and repetitions and have never had more than a half dozen problems with any of the 40 or 50 previous vehicles I have owned over the past 60+ years. It appears that since these numerous intermittent problems do not register in the vehicle's recorder, Cadillac is using that as an excuse to avoid addressing the real problem, that is, the computers themselves. I entreat you to force Cadillac to replace the defective computers before I just give it up as a hopeless situation and sell the auto. 2008 Cadillac Sts air bag indicator light has a malfunction. The consumer stated when his 100lb wife sat in the passenger seat, the air bag light sometimes stayed on, but most times it was off. The dealer has tried to fix the problem 3 times. The dealer replaced the entire seat which still did not resolve the problem. Finally, they said nothing was wrong. The dealer sent the consumer a gm flyer that explained the computer in the vehicle made the decision as to when the air bag light should be on.

Between February 2008 and October 2012, the air bag light illuminated. The light would come on at times and then go off, as if it was trying to correct itself. Prior to making an appointment to take it back to the dealer for the third time, the light came on and stayed on. July 2013, the light illuminated and went off again. As of June 2014, the light has once again illuminated and remained on.
