1 Air Bag Not Deploy problem of the 2007 Cadillac STS

Failure Date: 03/07/2017

. This is my first time owning a Cadillac and I must say I absolutely love it! it is a 2007 Sts so it is older but in excellent condition with only around 65,000 miles on it. However I have been very recently disappointed by the service response from my airbag malfunction. I recently noticed my air bag light sensor was intermittently turning on and off and immediately brought it into earnhardt Cadillac of scottsdale for fear of a safety issue. I received a call from steven from services who explained that the wiring harness would have to be replaced before he could even further diagnose the air bag wiring issue. He explained that the air bag would most likely not deploy in an accident. He explained that the harness itself would be $485 and only once he repaired that would he be able to further evaluate the air bag issue. I asked if Cadillac stands behind the repair of such a safety concern and he said only under the warranty and also stated there was no recalls on this car model. I was very disappointed to hear a car with such low mileage would have such a horrific safety issue that Cadillac is not willing to repair or replace. I'm reaching out to you to see if indeed that is the case or if Cadillac would be willing to repair this safety hazard. I had a Honda several years ago and the air bag was replaced immediately for the safety of all drivers and passengers. I'm hoping Cadillac would stand behind its reputation and do the same. It appears as if there are several identical complaints about this car model and even some horrific damage to passengers when the air bag did not deploy. This safety issue needs to be recalled and addressed immediately.

Failure Date: 05/27/2014

The "service airbag" light came on and the message on the rearview mirror is no longer detecting a passenger when a passenger is sitting in the seat. The passenger detector sensor has failed in the passenger seat. The same model year for the Cadillac cts had a recall for the same problem. The two vehicles are substantially similar and probably use the exact same part, yet the the Sts model was not included in the recall. A simple internet search shows hundreds of complaints on forums with this issue in the Sts model as well as the cts model. The result would be that the airbag would not deploy in the event of a crash.

7 Air Bag Not Deploy problem of the 2005 Cadillac STS

Failure Date: 11/28/2013

I was driving my 2005 Cadillac Sts doing about 45 miles and all of a sudden my car lost control. I put on brakes and my car would not stop. I tried steering to the left to avoid trees and my car would not turn it appeared that my accelerator was stuck and my steering wheel would not turn. My car hit three trees and when it struck the third tree I kept applying the brakes it still wouldn't stop then I turned my car off and that's the only way I got it to stop. My back wheel on the passenger side came off and my car was totaled. My air bag did not deploy. I spoke with gmac claims representative and he stated that it was normal for the air bag not to deploy. He also, stated that the air bag indicated that I had applied the accelerator when I know that I did not. I am terrified from this accident and this is the first accident I have ever had and I do not drink or take drugs. I asked the representative did the black box indicate that I had to turn the car off to stop it and representative stated no, then I asked him to tell me how the car stopped. If I had not turned the car off it would not have stopped and I would not be here today. Gmac denied my claim and stated that it was my fault.
