Two problems related to power assist brake have been reported for the 2001 Chevrolet 2500. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Started cold vehicle. Backing out of garage I had no power brakes nor power steering. Removed power-steering pump resivoir cap and air and fluid belched out. After that it performed normally.
My power steering pump failed, resulting in significant reduction in braking and steering function. This is of special concern to me as I frequently tow a 10,000 pound fifth-wheel trailer. The failure occurred in October of 2003 and the pump was replaced by the dealer under warranty.
