The "passenger air bag" light on the dash stays on and won't go off. Also the check engine light goes on and off and I had the code checked and they said is is something with the fuel. I have heard other complaints about the air bag light and it might not be deployed in an accident. Why does general motor have to wait until people get killed in their cars and have a class action lawsuit filed before they do the right thing?why don't they recall these cars and fix the problems with electrical, air bags and other manufacturing defects? my car only has about 21,000 miles on it. Chevrolet should be ashamed to sell lemons and show total disregard for their customers lives.
Had an accident when someone ran into me. Airbags did not deploy. Suspension bars had to be replaced. Also have a crack in the vacuum hose. I was driving apprx 25-30 miles. The problems had nothing to do with the accident. . My question is that I should not have to replace the suspension bars this soon. Now the drums have to be replaced (why?) I only have 60,000 miles on the car but these problems started long before this. Is this car on the recall list? )(hattie. Hicks@hotmail. Com).

The vehicle was moving at a highway speed of approximately 65 mph, when it got into a collision with another vehicle. The other vehicle made an abrupt stop on the highway in front of the 2004 Chevrolet Aveo, which caused the Aveo to hit the back of the suddenly stopped vehicle. Upon impact, the airbag did not deploy, which from my understanding should happen when traveling at that speed. In fact it especially should have deployed, due to the fact that the impact damaged the front of the vehicle. My concern is that I have bought two other vehicles from the same manufacturer since my purchase of this vehicle. I want to make sure that my family is safe when riding in these vehicles.

My airbags did not deploy when I hit a deer in 2013. Now my wiring that comes from engine compartment that controls my window lock and power windows is shorting out. My neighbor has a 2007 chevy colorado has gotten a recall on his due to same reason.
On 7/6/2015 my airbag light came on. When I took it to the dealer to have it diagnosed, they said it was due to a faulty occupant restraint control module which would cost almost $900 to get fixed. I was told by the dealership if I got into an accident, my airbags will not deploy due to this failure. I am shocked this major safety issue is not covered by gm and has not been recalled. My vehicle will not pass inspection without this part.

I have a 2006 Chevrolet Aveo lt that I purchased new, and it currently has less than 60,000 miles on the odometer. It failed virginia safety inspection because the airbag warning light was on. I took the car to the hudgins holiday Chevrolet dealership in williamsburg, virginia on November 5, 2014 to have it repaired. After a through diagnosis, they informed me that the problem was a faulty passenger seat occupancy sensor, and it will cost $1,152. 00 to replace the sensor. I searched the web and discovered that this appears to be a very common problem for the Aveo. I found a considerable number of entries where other Aveo owners have had the same problem. Since this a safety issue, because the passenger airbag will not deploy in a crash, and since it seems to effect many Aveos, I feel this problem should be the subject of a recall, or as a minimum, gm should replace the sensor at no cost to the effected Aveo owners.
My granddaughter was driving the vehicle and was the only one involved in the accident Friday, July 25 2014. . She was critically injury, and is still in the hospital. It looks like the air bags did not deploy and for unknown reason the vehicle left the road and hit a utility pole. As everyone reported a similiar problem/accident.
The air bag indicator light came on and has stayed on constantly. According to the owner's manual, this could indicate a problem with the airbag not deploying when it should, or possibly deploying when not needed. This seems to be an occurring problems on several makes and models I have seen on the news, all with recalls issued, and yet, chevy and gm have not issued a recall for this. Several other complaints have been reported about this issue. This is clearly a safety issue that needs to be addressed on my vehicle, as well as others. What will it take before chevy and gm decide to recall and fix this problem with the airbags, as this appears to be a very serious, and potentially harmful, if not fatal, potential problem.
Air bag light came on and stayed on. Upon inspection at dealership it was suggested that the clock and wiring from the airbag component to the clock be replaced to fix a sensor malfunction issue. Warned that if issue was not fixed, it was possible that the airbag would fail to deploy in the case of an accident.
Airbag error light is on. Taken to dealership and tested. Technician found that the seat connectors are defective causing a high resistance in the circuit. Airbags may not deploy. Connectors need replaced. Wiring harness needs repaired/replaced.

The contact owns a 2006 Chevrolet Aveo. The contact was driving 30 mph and crashed into the rear of another vehicle. The air bags failed to deploy. The contact sustained a concussion and a police report was filed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for diagnosis where it was stated that the air bags did not deploy because they were stuck. The vehicle was repaired and the manufacturer was not notified. The VIN was not available. The approximate failure mileage was 37,000.
My airbags failed to deploy when I was rear-ended in my chevy Aveo. I sustained multiple injuries to my head, mouth, eye, nose, and lost consciousness in addition to other injuries to my body.
I purchased a used 2007 chevy Aveo hatchback for my daughter's first car. Since getting it, the air bag lights would sometimes stay on and then go off from time to time. Recently the main air bag light stayed on constant. Then the passenger air bag light came on too saying that air bag was off. Needless to say, it is not a safe car to drive if the air bags will not deploy in an accident. Getting it fixed will cost about $700 to change sensors and "other stuff". Upon researching about Aveo's and their air bag issues, I'm happy to say that I'm not the only one experiencing this issue. Sadly there are hundreds if not thousands of the exact same problems from owners of Aveo's found all over the internet. All these owners are doing what I am doing, paying out of pocket to fix a known and documented problem by the manufacturer. These cars are not the best cars to begin with, but our daughter and her passenger's safety is worth the $700. Now if only Chevrolet felt the same about our daughter and every other owner of an Aveo and man up and fix the issue. Besides, don't tax payers technically own this company anyway because of the bailout????????????? someone demand a recall on Aveo's and their air bag issues please!!!!!!!!!!.

I purchased this chevy Aveo lt in 2009, in 2012 the air bag light in the dash board came on and will not go off, the chevy dealer is trying to charge me to fix it and there is all kinds of people talking about this problem and my mechanic told me with the air bag light on the air bags will not deploy if I were to get in a accident, I called chevy and they are trying to charge me just to look at it car, with all the bad reviews on the 2007 chevy Aveo I would think chevy would stand behind there cars and fix the issues with this air bag light staying on all the time, something needs to be done about this. . .
I was traveling se on entrance road. A car was stopped on my left on jean chapel road. The driver unexpectedly pulled directly in front of me creating an unavoidable crash situation. I pumped my brakes heavily and attempted to swerve to miss the vehicle but do to wet road conditions and my speed (5mph under the limit), I could not avoid slamming into the passenger side of her vehicle. The passenger in the other car received ambulance recovery. The driver was obviously stunned and received medical attention.
