Car was traveling at approximately 40 km\h when a sudden stop occurred in traffic. My wife was about to change lanes and was looking in her blind spot and when she turned back she could not stop in time. She rear-ended another vehicle totaling her 2004 Aveo and then was hit from behind as well. The airbags did not deploy and due to this my wife has been in pain with her back and neck ever since. This occurred in ontario canada.
The contact owned a 2004 Chevrolet Aveo. While driving approximately 35 mph, the vehicle crashed into three deer. The air bags did not deploy. The vehicle was destroyed and the contact was injured. The contact was transported to the hospital and a police report was filed. The current and failure mileages were approximately 45,300.
While traveling to a doctor appointment at approximately 2:30 pm on 11/18/09, I hydroplaned on the wet interstate I 40 east, near exit 37, slid sideways at a 90' angle to outside lane of I 40 east, attempted to countersteer into the slide, which caused my vehicle to spin 360' and strike the concrete lane divider head on at 40 or 45 mph. The vehicles air bags did not deploy, and I probably sustained a greater chest contusion to my sternum due to seat belt restraint impact to my chest. This has also caused an increase to back pain due to a prior problem of 3 fused vertebrae in my upper spine and probably a fractured sternum, but x-rays are not conclusive. I can not help but think had the airbags deployed I would not have sustained such a severe blow to my chest and would not have been injured nearly as bad as I have been. I believe the air bag system malfunctioned as the car was a total loss, and the impact knocked me unconscious for about 15 seconds. I remember the back wheels of the vehicle flying up into the air, and the rear end bouncing back to the ground.

My mother swerved to keep from hitting a vehicle entering the highway. She ended up in the oncoming traffic lane. Her car was hit by a pick up truck, spun and was hit again by the truck. Traffic was not heavy and it was on a rural road. Her air bags did not deploy in spite of multiple strikes. We will never know if her car cut off due to an ignition problem or it was faulty air bags. She sustained catastrophic injuries including a broken neck, broken back, broken wrists, broken pelvis, broken leg, broken ribs and chest injuries. She was air lifted to a trauma center. She died on 6/9/09. The air bags never deployed which could have helped reduce her injuries.

The contact owns a 2005 Chevrolet Aveo. The contact stated that the transmission locked up on his vehicle. While making a right turn, he stated that the front half of his vehicle stopped, but the rear continued to move. The speed was unknown. The vehicle rolled over three times down an embankment and was destroyed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer on three occasions and they stated that the computer control transmission system failed. The vehicle downshifts and locks into gear by itself. The failure began after a recall was issued by the manufacturer. The air bags failed to deploy. The contact was the only occupant in the vehicle and was not injured. A police report was filed. Gm does not accept responsibility for the failure. The failure mileage was 98,000.
My granddaughter was involved in an mvc in florida. She was exiting on an interstate ramp and failed to leave room for another stopped vehicle resulting in a front end/rear end crash. The air bags failed to deploy and her seat belt did not fully restrain her, resulting a fractured sternum (3 places). She as been recovering ever since and neither the auto repair shop nor the Chevrolet dealer has been able or willing to find out why these systems failed.

I was in a semi v car accident Wednesday November 19th, on a 4 lane major highway (I-294). I was driving a 2004 chevy Aveo. I was cut off by the semi and my car was hit, spun out of control through 3 lanes of traffic and hit the center median of the highway. The car is totaled. The entire engine block was smashedinward. My airbag didn't deploy. I'm angry. This car has had nothing but defect after defect, but I paid for a safety feature that was faulty. I walked away from this accident, by the grace of god, and now am suffering horrific pain that is directly influenced by my airbag not deploying. I have no recourse to take against chevy. I want documentation of this major failure. I'm lucky I didn't die. The semi was ticketed in the accident.
I bought my Aveo new. At only 6,000 miles the master cylinder failed and 5,000 miles later the brake booster failed and I crashed--the air bags did not deploy. Gm would fixed the brake booster but not the damage to my car! at 13,000 miles the brake drums needed to be re-surfaced, the brake rotors needed to be cut, and I had to get new brake pads--again gm would not fix it and made me pay for it. At 16,000 miles the air bag sensor for the passenger failed. At 18,000 miles the gas gauge failed and the shifter got stuck in park, and the cruise control would work on and off. At 20,000 miles the all four tires needed to be replaced. Around this time, gas mileage dipped to about 19-21mpg, but gm couldn't figure out why. At 30,000 miles I had to get new rotors and brake pads--again I had to pay for it even though they are wearing out prematurely. At 35,000 miles the transmission started to shift hard so gm recommended I change the transmission fluid at a cost $450 because the fluid has a special additive that is shipped from korea! at 44,000 miles the engine died--more like blew up. Gm said that it is my fault for letting it run too hot, though I had no warning from any gauges, lights, ect. . . Again I had to fix it even though I had the 100,000 mile warranty. At 48,000 miles the a/c needed to be overhauled--I had to pay for it. At 52,000 miles I hit a deer and again the air bags did not deploy. The insurance company junked it. Absolutely without a doubt in my mind the worst car I have ever owned. Gm should be sued for this car. They do not honor the warranty at all. The service departments treated me with disrespect. A couple of dealers refused to even accept my car for repair. The car is very scary to drive and not safe at all. With all the money I spent fixing the car plus my car payment each month, I could have easily purchased a BMW instead. Gm is absolutely the worst folks to deal with. Never again will I buy or support anything from gm.

The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Aveo. While driving approximately 50 mph in the rain, the contact crashed into the preceding vehicle. The front end of his vehicle was damaged and the radiator is shaped like a "v". The air bags failed to deploy and three occupants were injured. The vehicle was towed. Accident/ rear ended another vehicle in my 2007 chevy Aveo 5. $3,200 damage to my car and airbags did not deploy.

The airbag light would not turn off, still at the dealer waiting for a part to come in, it was a faulty fuse in the steering wheel if in a accident airbags would not deploy. 2. The heat started working less and less, when I would come to a stop the air would come out cold, it felt like I had the air conditioning on. If it sat for too long the temperature would start to rise and it would start to overheat.
It was a car accident in which air bags failed to deploy. Suffered back and neck injuries.
On September 16, 2007, my daughter was struck by a drunk driver. She was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Aveo. She lost control and struck a concrete retaining wall virtually head on at 55 mph. The insurance company totaled the car, due to heavy front end damage. Her air bags did not deploy, although the vehicle was equipped with them. I called Chevrolet on sept 21, 2007, to request that they look into what happened to the safety features on the car, and why they did not work. In return, the report is bogged down in red tape, an inspector called us last week (oct. 11, 2007), and said he would be looking at the car. So far, we cannot locate a report and chevy is denying the inspection took place. I am sure they are stalling for time so the car is sold for salvage. This was a serious problem, and should have been looked into immediately, which is all that asked of them. In return, nothing but stalling tactics have occurred. Chevrolet refuses to give phone numbers for customer assistance, and keeps referring me back to the department I cannot get information from.
I was traveling approximately 35 to 40 mph on a straight road. The vehicle in front of me stopped about 75 feet ahead of me. I pressed on the brake pedal to stop but there was no pressure and it went to the floor. Due to having no brakes, I hit the back of the other car. The airbag failed to deploy and I hit my head on the steering wheel. When I reversed the car and pressed on the brakes again they worked. The front end of the car was smashed in damaging the headlights, radiator, hood, bumper, and unknown other parts at this time.

At about 9:30 pm on the 18th of may 2007, my car was struck head on at an intersection in el centro, CA. My car was sitting still at the time, the vehicle that struck me was going about 60 mph. My radiator and engine were both hit hard enough to destroy them, my air bags never deployed.
"passenger airbag is off" light comes on when adult is seated indicating airbag is disabled. Have had it in for service four times. Have been told we were not sitting in the seat properly. Gm replaced seat and sensor, but did not correct the problem. Last service date is 12/24/2008. Was told that the problem cannot be fixed. Reported at 8297 miles; current mileage is 53783. I was informed that the airbag may not deploy in an accident increasing chance of injury.
The car is a 2006 Aveo. The car is only three years old and now has 100,000 miles and is over warranty. Over the life of the car beginning at around 20,000 mile the air bag disengaged light has continued to come on and stay on. The car has been taken to the dealer each time and they claim there either is no issue or it's just a fuse. Each time the car, continues to have a trouble. The light stays on, meaning the airbag is not working. I fear in a crash that the airbag would not deploy.
My daughter lost control of her 2004 Aveo. The state police officer said that the front of the car hit the tree a high speed and that the air bags did not deploy.
Enclosed are some picture of a recent accident were my son almost lost his life in a frontal collision and the airbags were not deployed, as far as he can recall and the impact injuries.
While stopped at red light, our 2004 chevy Aveo was struck from behind by a vehicle traveling about 25-45 mph, which propelled the Aveo into the car in front of it. During the crash, the driver's seat moved backward into about a 45 degree angle and locked in that position and providing my daughter no protection against whiplash. She received injuries to her neck and abdomen, which would have been much worse if she had not been holding on tightly to the steering wheel. She was wearing her seat belt at the time of the crash, and the Aveo airbags did not deploy.
: the contact stated while traveling 55 mph the vehicle went in a ditch, causing damage to the front end. When this occurred the airbags did not deploy. The seat belt was worn, but the contact sustained minor injuries. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence and has not been seen by a mechanic. Updated 05/03/06.
