When I went out to start the vehicle I had no dash board lights. Every other light system worked but I could not see the speedometer or the tachometer. All the fuses were intact. I then bought new bulbs for the entire gage cluster and they still are not functioning. I have looked up this problem on multiple forums and this is a very common issue without a solution other than "rigging" this system! this is unacceptable practice to allow this to go on without some sort of recall or replacement part available!.
The driver side head lamp is not working properly. The wire lighting harness kept shorting out, I had it repaired at a shop. It later melted and the light went out. I tried to order another on, but the dealership only sells the whole kit not just the light bulb itself. I am having to pay over $300 for a new kit when all I needed was a bulb and the harness. This is insane, especially when there have been recalls for this very same problem. I also had an electrical problem where my car battery would drain, and lose power.
Since I got my Aveo5 LS in 2013. I have been problems since the air bag light on thinking my air bags don't work at all. The clock doesn't keep set. The flex tube needs be replaced every month. My headlights and brake lights need to replace two times a month or more. Then to find out I almost had a fire with my headlight plug is melted crispy black, now my headlight don't work as well. The module behind passenger side back always need to replace especially in winter. I had my car for 3 years and my paint has been coming off due to factory paint problem. Now I can not keep engine light off since I got my car, I think I put more money in buying parts then I paid for the car. Gm did a very poor design for this model.
I have a 2007 chevy Aveo that I've had to replace the drivers side > headlight on 5 times in the 4 yrs I've had it. Also, for the past 2 yrs I > haven't had any radio lights. There's a recall on the running light > modules for this year, the cars can catch fire. Recall number: 14v261000. The module on my car is melted and black. I have pictures of this. I've called chevy several times > but get told there's no recall on my car. Do I have to wait until the car catches fire to do be able to do something about this?.

The daytime running lights module had a recall on it. I made an apt at the local dealer last week and made an appointment today to get the recall done. Recall number is 14236. They did not fix it, said they didn't have the part even though I contacted them last week and gave them the VIN and the recall number. I picked up the car with the intent of taking it to another dealer and it caught fire on the way home and destroyed the car.
I was driving on the highway on my way home from 3 hours away, and I was about an hour and 30 min from home. I stopped at mcdonald s to feed the 3 kids, I was there for 35 min with the car off. Not even 10 min later, back on the highway, the car sort of spit and/or sputtered. I thought maybe I had gotten some bad gas because it only did it about 3 times and it was ok, there were no lights on indicating anything was wrong. Just a couple minutes later it did it spit and/or sputtered 2 more times, still no light indicators had come on and I looked down at the gauges I had 6/8ths tank of gas, almost full. The engine temp was reading hot though, but no lights were on, suddenly we were going up a slight incline but the car would not go faster, in-fact it was actually slowing down and it would no longer switch to a higher gear. As soon as the highway leveled off, I put the car in neutral to give the engine a brake until we reached the next gas station, but as soon as it hit neutral the car shut off and was coasting. I had to pull over as quick as I could. When someone finally stopped to help, we found a tiny hole in a hose, we cut the hose, readjusted it but it still wouldn't start, after 3 jumps it still wouldn't start. We were stranded for over 4 hours, and the battery finally completely died out as our ride had just gotten there. There was absolutely no warning for the break down, not even a check engine light had came on. Because of this me 3 kids all 5 years old and under, and my aunt who is deathly afraid of semi's were stranded on the side of a highway for over 4 hours!.

Key got "stuck in ignition" and would not come out. My car in not on the gm recall list so dealer wanted to charge me an arm and two legs to fix. Took to an auto repair shop. How do cars get added to the recall list? mine should definitely be on this one for ignition problem to the tune of $357.

I was driving on high way radio shut off and dash lights flickered. Then it was fine then I go and turn car on dashlights not on and car wont come out of park. Also headlights keep blowing out.
Dash lights quit working and could smell plastic burning from under the dash. Also the tail light on the passenger side keeps blowing fuses.
Dash lights did not turn on when the headlights were turned on. Also, running lights did not turn on after my headlights were turned on (front and rear right). Left rear turn signal does not work. I was told by a mechanic this was due to the splice pack melting. He also informed me this was a known issue with Chevrolet Aveo's. This should be a manufacturers issue and not the owners if it is a known hazardous issue.

2006 Chevrolet Aveo, have had recall notice for several months. Have heard nothing new, drl fail regularly as well as passenger side running lights and dashboard lights. Has been going on for years, several mechanics have been able to make slight modifications that fix it temporarily. Aveo owners need a permanent fix immediately.
After starting car, I was unable to gisengage the car from the parking position. Was only able to get car out the park position by jamming a metal device into the manual shift lock release position. Ended having car towed to mechanic who diagnosed problem as needing a new fuse box. However, after first drive home, back yo original problem: cannot remove key from ignition and if I do drive, electrical power goes out.
My 05 Aveo,is included in the gm recall#a140093/NHTSA recall#14v261(headlamp switch & drl). I have been experiencing issues with all of my external lights (my gauge cluster and shifter lights have been out). I was replacing every external bulb every few weeks to keep the lights on. That is not working. I am down to one headlight (driver side) working ¿ as far as running lights go. I have no taillights (brakelights work). I commute approx. 40miles each direction for work-all freeway. I made an appt w/chevy,took the day off work so the car could be there all day. As I arrived to my appt the service writer told me there is not a remedy from gm yet so I will need to cover the cost. Eventually we went into the building to complete my write up, at that point I was told they were backed up on recalls so they may not get to my vehicle despite the appt. I reiterated the issue,he said okay, told me he would be in contact with me. At 3:30 he called, told me they hadn't had a chance to look at my vehicle but would get to it tomorrow. I took another day off work & left the car with them. Next day,I called at 11am & I'm told they have yet to touch my vehicle & there are about 20 cars in front of me so they won¿t get to it today either. I could not leave the car another day, I told him I would pick it up. I immediately called gm explained the situation, their response was ¿what do you want us to do about it. I told them the car was unsafe and illegal to drive in this condition I needed it fixed. They told me they would contact another dealership and have them contact me. About 20mins later the dealership contacted me, gave me the same run around as the first dealership. This recall is 7mnths old, it took gm 10yrs to acknowledge it. This is unacceptable, I bought this car in good faith the basic functionality of the car would work and it does not and gm is not correcting the issue.

I own a 2008 chevy Aveo,it has 29,000 miles which was purchsed in new jersey. The vehicle was shipped to egypt, and have been experiencing the following problems: 1. Air bag light in always on 2. Cruise control is not working 3. Clock light is off and on intermittently I took the vehicle to an authorized dealer in hurghada, egypt. They were unable to service the vehicle. I have no incident.
My key was stuck in the ignition between the "accessory" setting and having the car running. I googled the problem; recommended fix was to remove fuse for radio, so I did. I was able to remove keys from ignition but when I was ready to leave again I could not shift out of 'park. ' I put the radio fuse back in, and my gearshift & transmission work perfectly. Every time I get out of my car I have to pull the radio fuse out, remove my keys, then install the radio fuse again so that I can get out of 'park' when I need to drive later.
The contact owns a 2004 Chevrolet Aveo. While starting the vehicle, smoke emitted from the vents without warning. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 88,000.
I was driving to my mother's house, the car was not shifting right and the engine was whining, all of a sudden I smelled smoke and seen fire under the hood. Gm would only fix the harness , the vehicle would start again but you could not drive it. No power in the engine. So I had to eat $6400. 00 dollars I owed and traded it with carbone auto in yorkville new york. They sold me a car with the abs lights on the traction lights on, the tire pressure lights come on and my doors lock and I have to climb over to the other seat to get out. The salesman knew these lights were on before I signed the papers and my car is still not fixed. This past winter I had no heat and got caught in an ice storm and my windows iced right over I could not see and hit a pole by my driveway and dented and scratch the whole right side of my car. It is carbone auto that made it so my Aveo caught fire. They would not fix it, the car would never shift right the motor would whine out and they said OH that is the way a 1. 6 liter car runs. I had the fidelity extract warranty and they would not fix the Aveo I have lost 6400 dollars on these cars and it is the dealers fault, what do I do now my 2008 impala VIN is 2g1wt58n189258620 the salesman name is nathan dailey he knew these lights were on before I signed the papers he said it would be fixed. 8 months later still not fixed.
