The contact owns a 1996 Chevrolet Blazer. While driving at various speeds, an abnormal noise was heard from the brakes when the brake pedal was depressed. There were no warning lights illuminated. The steering wheel began to seize and the turn signals began to malfunction. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the struts, and both driver and passenger side brake pads and rotors failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred numerous times. The manufacturer was not aware of the failures. The failure mileage was approximately 142,185.
Recall 99v193000/abs: vehicle experiencing intermittent problem with soft pedal and fading brakes. Vehicle taken to independent repair shop and informed consumer that left rotors were pitted/ corroded. Both rotors and pads were replaced at consumer's cost. Dealer / manufacturer notified, and informed that vehicle was not covered under a recall.
When the brakes are applied the pedal goes to the floor, resulting in extended stopping distances. The brake pads has been replaced on the vehicle . The dealer has been notified.
Abs brakes do not stop vehicle properly, and that pads and rotors are worn at 13,000 miles. Also problem occurs occasionally on wet pavemet.

Consumer experiencing excessive wear of the front brakes shoes and pads. Also, upon applying force to the brake pedal noticed extended stopping distance brake fading away. Consumer has contacted the dealer.
Vehicle gives no warning that the brakes are insufficient. Took vehicle in for check up and right front brake pad had worn down and ruined one rotor. Vehicle is dangerous to drive. Consumer states that the left front pad is in good shape and was advised that the right slider on the brake calper stuck closed and ruined the right front braking.
When applying the abs brakes in a sudden stop, the pedal went to the floor and the brakes failed to stop the vehicle. Brake pads prematurely worn out and dealer replaced them and also resurfaced rotors, consumer states an accident resulted because of the faulty brakes. Rear passenger side door panel material came apart, dealer replaced.

The consumer has been experiencing ongoing problems with brake pads. Vehicle currently has 40,000 miles and has had 3 brake pad replacements. While the consumer is driving, the brakes give off a loud squeaky noise whenever the brakes are applied. The manufacturer has been contacted.
Braking system malfunctioned, causing more wear and tear on the brake pads and rotors which been been replaced 3 times. Also, abs system malfunctioned, causing extended stopping distance which may cause a crash. Please provide further information and VIN#.
Premature wear of brake pads. They wear out every six months. Dealer notified, and informed consumer that the problem was normal for that vehicle. Can NHTSA provide additional information and help in this matter.

Premature wear of anti-lock brakes, also replaced front brake pads and resurfaced rotors.
Brake pads wear out in 12,000 to 20,000 miles.
When applying the brakes abs kicks in which makes the vehicle take longer to stop. Sometimes the pedal will go to the floor. Also, dealer has replaced rotors and pads, but defect still exists.
Front disc brake pad wear is excessive. Brakes squeal as if pads are constantly dragging.

The rotors were turned and pads replaced twice in less than a year. The rotors and pads need replacing again. The Blazer was purchased with 18,000 miles, and currently the Blazer has 39,000 miles. Dealer stated that the braking system was normal for the Blazer.
