1 Brake Electric Antilock problem

Failure Date: 02/21/2006

: the contact stated the dash panel warning light illuminated indicating there was a lack of abs at 3mph while brake pressure was applied. Although the vehicle adequately stopped, there were no antilock brakes. The vehicle was seen by a dealer, but no repairs were made. There is a NHTSA recall, #05v379000, regarding the antilock brakes. The vehicle has the same problems as indicated in the recall; however it is not included in the recall due to the VIN.

2 Brake Electric Antilock problem

When driving over bumps the anti lock brakes would lock up causing the vehicle to have extended stopping distance.

I have experienced several problems with my 1996 Chevrolet s10 Blazer including problems with my anti-lock braking system after talking to two other peolple that have experienced the same problem with the same model vehicle I decided to look for recalls and indeed there are several recalls on this model none of witch I have been informed I alond with a close friend of mine depend on our Blazers to transport our child to and from school. The heater cores are also defective I believe gm is respobsible and I will hold them liable if they do not fix these defects and an accident should occur.

The vehicle is equipped with abs. On multiple occasions, when I attempted to stop the vehicle the wheels locked and the vehicle went into a skid. The skid (slid) is a safety issue since it causes a reduction in steering control which could result in an accident.

Abs brake system; consumer took vehicle to two dealers. They had no record of recalls. Vehicle grabbed/released/ kept sliding, and would not stop.

While driving at 5-10 mph consumer tried to slow down, and when applying brakes vehicle made a buzzing noise,and did not stop. Vehicle ran into another vehicle. *akconsumer explains that there was plenty of room for the vehicle to come to a complete stop but because of the defect with the brakes, consumer hit the vehicle in front. It was as if vehicle was operating on ice. Consumer is convinced that this is a problem straight from the factory.

Abs braking system does'nt kick in at all. Also, when applying brakes vehicle shakes and vibrates. Consumer took vehicle to dealership for manufacturer's recall 9041 repairs of abs braking system. Currently vehicle is worse than it was at first.

Anti-lock braking system is inoperative. Dealer has been contacted. Consumer stated brakes release under hard braking, when on loose surface such as sand or wet pavement.

Brakes work sometimes and sometimes they don't. Only way consumer could stop would be to slam down on the brakes.

While traveling on wet pavement, trying to make a stop, intermittently vehicle went into extended stopping distance. Dealer called consumer and stated that he called the manufacturer, and they stated that he did not have to do the work free of charge. Vehicle was not checked/ repaired because dealer insisted consumer was obligated to pay.

When applying brakes under normal braking conditions pedal dropped down to the floor and there was no pumping sensation, causing extended stopping distance. Vehicle crashed into the rear of vehicle in front. This happened on a smooth road surface and in dry weather. The truck is being repaired. Please provide any further information.

The problems with this vehicle have been numerous however, I listed only one specific incident. These brakes have not worked properly since the vehicle was driven home. It has been in the shop and a download was made to the computer. This has not helped the problem. The brakes are unreliable at best.

Ea94038, intermittently in a panic stop the braking system malfunctioned, causing the brake pedal to travel to the floor and extended stopping distance which resulted in a crash.
