67 problems related to windshield wiper/washer motor have been reported for the 1996 Chevrolet Blazer. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

Sometimes windshield wipers will not come on and sometimes they will. Consumer is having the same problem as mentioned in recall 98v150001. Consumer states vehicle will not pass inspection because windshield wipers were not working.

Contacted the dealer, and was told that vehicle it was not covered by the recall campaign 98v150. 001 due to VIN.

Windshield wipers stopped working. Consumer had them repaired at a repair shop for $394. 97. Then, he received recall notice c98043-s for the windshield wipers. Consumer stated that after better business bureau got involved six months ago, dealership negotiated with him to give him a $254. 97 refund. Consumer stated no, thank you.
Recallm 98v150, the windshield wipers malfuctioned, causing visibility problems which may result a crash. There is a recall for this problem, but this vehicle is not included in the recall due to VIN #. Please provide further information.
There is currently a limited reall from Chevrolet regarding the failure of the wiper/washer module. My vehicle has experienced this failure however, Chevrolet refuses to repair the defect saying that my VIN doesn't fall within the recall. However, the recall includes my year, make & model. This makes no sense and I would appreciate any assistance or advise you can offer. Thank you.
Windshield wiper motor failed during a major rainstorm prior to recall.
Windshield wipers would not work on high speed, in August sometimes they would not work at all. Dealer contacted, and replaced the circuit board and motor, all at consumers cost, vehicle had no warranty, warranty had expired.
Rear windshield wiper motor malfunctioned, causing the rear windshield wipers to be inoperative. Dealer replaced the rear windshield motor. Current problem is just like the recall for the front windshield, recall # 98v150000.
In rainy weather turned on windshield wipers, had problem starting. Finally they came on, but stopped awhile. A very intermittent problem. Not at dealer's yet.
While driving about 35mph in the rain, windshield wiperd were working for a time & then stopped. Stopped vehicle to turn wipers off & then turn them on. They failed to work. Called dealer & told to bring vehicle in when wipers not working again. Cannot fix wipers until problem is seen.

Windshield wipers intermittently fail. There was a recall issued for this problem but apparently only covered vehicles manufactured up to may, 1996. Mine was built in July, 1996 so is not covered in the recall. The problem is the same, the vehicle should be fixed by the manufacturer at no cost.

Windshield wipers would randomly stop working. Replaced windshield wiper motor at dealership. Several other Chevrolet balzers were recalled for this exact problem. My particulat model chev s10 balzer 4wd was not included in the recall. I beleive this model should be included.
