Side/rear Glass Problems of Chevrolet Blazer

: the contact stated while the vehicle was parked in the garage the rear windshield exploded. The garage door and the windows in the vehicle were open. The contact inspected the vehicle to see if something struck the window however no object was found. The dealership has not been alerted. Updated 6/12/2006 -.

I was outside of the parked vehicle and I pressed on the button (key hole) to open the back glass (window) and it burst in my face glass shattered everywhere for no reason. Nothing was touching the glass at all. I have two others who wittnessed this and gm is declining my request to replace it. I feel this had to be a defect in the glass I didnt do anything to cause this to happen other than pressed on the button to open the window.

The latch for the rear windshield is fastened only to the rubber gasket aroud the window, never to the glass as there is no residue as if it ever had been. Finally the rubber broke and the hatch flew open. The hatch will no longer stay closed on its own. I have seen other Blazers with the same "defect". I have been told by several bodyshops that it should have been bonded at the factory and they cannot fix this.

Rear glass shatter when parked. Several witnesses heard a pop sound and then the rear window shattered. Rear window is a hatch type.

Reporting an on-going problem with rear window with the spare tire with cover attach to outside door, blocking rear window view; vehicle was invoved in a accident because consumer was not able to see vehicle while backing up. Dealer & mfr. Notified and refuse to removed spare tire unless consumer pay for removel; can NHTSA help in this matter.

Rear glass window will not seal. Dealer service department wrote up ticket as glass being bent due to placement of hinges. Allows exhaust fumes and rain water into the interior and into electrical switches on tailgate.

Tinted rear window is very difficult to see through while backing up at night, small collisions due to design and poor visibility.

The rear windows are too dark, reducing vision of driver to indentify any following vehicles.
