Recently general motors issued a recall on the ignition switch for some of their cars, but it does not include all of the vehicles affected with the exact same problem. Here is a list of cars currently listed, but I want my 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier added to the recall too: Chevrolet cobalt, pontiac g5, Saturn ion, Chevrolet hhr, pontiac solstice, and Saturn sky. Many years ago I tried to get a local Chevrolet service center to fix the problem in my 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier. They could not fix it, so we just kept driving the car. Had I known it would affect the air bags getting deployed I would have written to you sooner. This problem needs to get fixed by gm as soon as possible on all models listed including my 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier. The defect allows the ignition switch to move from "run" to "accessory" if I hit a bump or I use a heavy key chain. That shuts off the engine and may disable the front air bags. The loss of the air bag crash protection is my biggest worry. Please help me get this fixed and warn other people who have 2004 Chevrolet Cavaliers with the same problem.

Dt recall 00v053000 was issued concerning the fuel system. This vehicle was not included due to VIN. Gasoline was leaking from the return and the feed line. The return line started leaking first and then a month later, the feed line started leaking. Noticed it on July 29, 2005 this is when the return metal fitting was leaking and the return started leaking on August 29, 2005. Contacted the dealer, the part that has to be replaced, including the whole unit, and with labor would cost $600. 00 or $700. 00. Also, ignition switch recall 02v070000. This vehicle failed to start. The vehicle would not turn over it completely. The dash warning lights would come on. The dealer has not looked at any of these problems. There was also a recall 98v146000 concerning air bags. Vehicle's air bag light was on. Did not have the dealer check this.

On Feb. 15 2005 I was driving a 2003 Cavalier when. As I was driving and switching lines my light turned red and I did not realize it. I went through causing a head on collision with another car. My complaint is that the air bags on my car did not deploy after the accident. My speed was somewhere between 14-20 m. P. H. The vehicle I hit was making a turn at about ten m. P. H. Or so. The bumper of my car is completely off and is now being repaired. I was not severely injured but I was very appalled at how the air bags did not deploy. I could not imagine what would have happened if I was not wearing my seat belt. I believe that the airbags are faulty and I also plan to file a lawsuit.

Consumer made a right turn and the engine stopped. After switching back and forth, the vehicle began to start slowly. Once started, the vehcile merged forward and began to jerk back and forth. Consumer proceeded, she was driving approx. 10-15mph when she began to brake for a vehicle and the abs light came on and there were no brakes to apply. Consumer hit vehicle at 15mph. Approximately 20-25 minutes later, both air bags deployed. The whinshield shattered.

In April 2002 I received a letter from teh recall information processing center, royal oak, mi in regards to a defect with the ignition switch. When I checked the internet "NHTSA" I found out that in fact this was not the only recall on my car. The is also an airbag, check engine light and mud flip kit recall. I contacted the dealer and brought my car in to repair all these defects. The next day the check engine light came on again and the car was running rough again. I contacted the dealership and reported the problem. I was told that this has nothing to do with the recall and that the recall for the "check engine light" was fixed the day before and I have to pay if I want to find out what is causing that light to come on. I am not satisfied at all. First of all, I was never contacted in regards to all these other recalls. I have problems with my car everysince around the middle of 2002. When I drive and take my foot of the gas pedal the car keeps going the same speed without slowing down, sometimes it even speeds up. The engine check light keeps coming on and the engine runs real rough. Also when driving the car keeps jerking, like somebody is hitting the brakes and then speeds ups right afterwards. All these problems occur at no particular speed. Please be so kind and assist me in this matter or advise me who I have to contact. Thank you so much. Best regards, manuela m. Leno.
