I have always had trouble with the abs system and so did my father-in-law who drove car before me. Abs was always very sensitive to activating and when activated vehicle very difficult to stop. I have be driving 40 years and never owned a more difficult vehicle to stop. Had brakes serviced less than 10,000 miles ago at dealer, have brand new michelins. Does not matter, I see a lot of complaints on internet about this Cavalier abs system and it is dangerous.

Brake light and abs lights are on. The abs motor pack needs to be replaced, and was told by mechanic that this is a frequent problem. Bad motor pack due to corrosion in gears in motor pack. This causes abs to "shut off" but also for brakes to drag, stick, premature break wear, and warped rotors. Many people have this issue. Newer design of motor pack consists of electronic solenoid. Chevrolet needs to recall this.

While driving 55 mph driver applied the brakes and brake pedal went to the floor. Abs light appeared on the dashboard and remained on. Driver was able to maintain control of the vehicle, and drove the vehicle to the dealer for inspection, and mechanic determined that abs module needed to be replaced.
(1) while driving, going over small bumps or small pot holes, car begings to make a loud vibration noise up in the front wheel area and the anti lock brakes freeze and cause car to skid on dry or wet conditions. On several occasions traction control light stays lit then goes off after driving a period of time. (but no noise) took to local Chevrolet dealer, and found no problem, as of today, car continues to do the same incident. Been going off and on for the last 2yrs. Had brakes serviced, new pads and rotors turned, made things worse. . Car wobbles when comming to a stop. Also car grabs and lets off when stopping, feels like it's pushing then letting off the brakes off and on.

I have a major problem with a vehicle that I recently purchased. I bought a 2003 Cavalier and there was a problem with it last week. I need to know exactly who to talk to before I take any further actions. My car is supposed to have an extended warranty on it and I know that I'm supposed to be able to get a rental car. Well, here's the situation last week, I was driving my car and went to make a turn and my steering wheel locked up while I was driving. I was on the way to take it to be looked at and it happpened again, but when I tried to stop, the car just kept going and caused me to crash into another vehicle. When I went to the dealership to speak to someone, they offered no help as far as my rental and warranty. I am angry because this flaw with the car could've resulted in my death. It took over a month to get someone to come take a look at the car and when someone finally came on Nov. 2, they said they didn't find anything wrong and that was it. I tried making contact again and got no response. I'm still without my vehicle because even if I pay to have it repaired, there is still the chance that it could happen again.
