2 Fuel Injector problem of the 1997 Chevrolet Cavalier

Failure Date: 09/13/2004

While driving vehicle stalled. Consumer restarted vehicle, and drove it to the dealer for inspection. Vehicle was placed on the diagnostic machine. Mechanic determined that the machine codes showed that the fuel injections needed to be replaced. But the next day vehicle stalled again, and consumer had the vehicle towed to the dealer for inspection. However, mechanic was not able to duplicate the problem.

3 Fuel Injector problem of the 1996 Chevrolet Cavalier

Failure Date: 03/10/2004

Fuel injectors get cracks and leak, could result in a fire if not changed. I have had all 4 injectors leak, and 2 had hairline cracks allowing large amounts of gas to leak onto hot engine which could easily start a fire.

Car smells like gas all the time. Was told have two leaks in fuel injector.

Consumer was informed the fuel injectors were leaking and needed to be replaced.

6 Fuel Injector problem of the 1996 Chevrolet Cavalier

Failure Date: 08/01/2002

Consumer can smell fumes in car after engine has been shut off for a short time. Mechanic stated that gas was dripping on intake manifold. May cause a fire. Fuel injector number 4 has a hair line crack externally, this allows fuel under pressure to leak out of injector onto intake manifold, after engine is shut off for a short time, fuel can be smelled in and about the car due to fuel leakage out of the injector.
