No start and stall condition on my 2003 Cavalier. It started with a no start. After reading on the internet about someone pounding on their fuel tank I attempted this and tried to restart the car and it restarted. This frequency of no starts has increased. Recently while driving, the car stalls as if the car is out of gas. Once it stalls it will not start. I banged on the bottom of the fuel tank and attempted to restart the car and it would start. The frequency of the stalls also are increasing and occurs when driving regardless of speed. The last stall was on oct. 22, 2008 while traveling at 50 mph. The restarts are becoming more difficult. It now requires one person to turn the ignition while one is under the car pounding on the fuel tank. It appears to be a faulty fuel pump. The engine turns over but appears to not be receiving gas. The fuel filter has already been replaced.
