1 Brake Fluid Leak problem of the 2000 Chevrolet C/k Pickups

Failure Date: 09/20/2012

Was moving truck into drive way after it had been parked in the street. Upon pulling into the drive way I noticed I had no brakes. Turned truck off and checked under truck to find that there was brake fluid leaking from under the truck by the left rear wheel. Upon calling my mechanic I am told that this is a normal thing with my year truck and that it was being investigated by the nhsta because of the amount of complaints. Oh and also it would cost almost 800. 00 dollars to repair because the mechanic will not just replace one line because once one goes they all start to go based on his experience with my year truck. He does this for safety reasons. I have had the car towed to my mechanic to be repaired. Another 94. 00 dollars. After again talking to my mechanic he tells me the brake line has corroded.

2 Brake Fluid Leak problem of the 2002 Chevrolet C/k Pickups

Failure Date: 10/10/2008

Started out to work one morning, truck performed fine. Stopped for gas restarted truck, noticed that brake pedal went down considerable amount further than normal ,and it took more foot pressure to stop. Continued to work, worked, drove home. By the time I got home brake pedal went to floor, and had no stopping power. Next morning checked brake master cylinder reservoir ,it was empty. I than noticed puddle of fluid under driverside of truck. I checked under the hood and noticed to my surprise rust through on the steel brake line. Dealer was contacted was told they would look at it. Had truck towed to dealer, service manager wanted guarantee of payment of 40 dollars and change to look at it,to confirm what I already knew that the brake lines were rusted. They said this was normal and would not take any responsibility to repair it,only to offer small credit towards parts, which amounts to nothing. I don't know where to go now ,and are making arrangements to have it towed back home.

3 Brake Fluid Leak problem of the 1998 Chevrolet C/k Pickups

Failure Date: 10/01/2004

I have a 1998 chevy c1500 extended cab p/u. If you hold normal pressure on the brake pedal at a stop sign or light, the pedal holds just fine. But if you push just a little harder, it goes down. I have taken it almost to the floor. There is no brake fluid leaking. It never gets low. I have put a new, not used, master cylinder from autozone on it. It does the same thing. I used to be an auto mechanic at a. K. Durnin Chrysler Plymouth in baton rouge louisiana. I now sell auto parts and I'm telling you, this is not normal. Also, if I hit the brakes kind of hard, and then let off just a little, it makes a noise and an uneven breaking pattern. It's the anti-lock brakes, braking and letting off, repetitively. About like the rhythm of a jack hammer. Oh, I spent 3 1/2 years at the Dodge dealer as a mechanic. I did brakes every week. I was the mechanic that they would bring a car to, when no one else could fix it right!.
