I just bought this car. . 2010 chevy Cobalt with 176,000 miles two weeks ago with all of the money that I had. I noticed that it had a dealers tag, but he wanted to meet me at a store and claimed that the car was perfect. Day two it stalled & has continued to randomly stall & wouldn't start til the 3rd try. I tried, but it's impossible to contact the seller. Autozone said it had 17 codes, but could just be the c20? sensor. Then last night it would start, accelerating to about 5 mph, then stall & I had to have it towed home from a busy area, and now it won't turn over or start at all. Im a grandmother on my own with a part time job and have no money left for repairs or to start all over. I'm hoping there's a recall that could help. I don't know how to find this man as the title had another persons name on it, not that it would do any good.

After starting the car the transmission bucks rough causing the front wheels to slip and causing the stability light to come on. Sometimes the vehicle bucks so hard and so many times it will stall out creating a very dangerous situation. . . My son's CO-worker and friend has the same car and the same exact problem. . . I feel it is an issue with the transmissinon.

The vehicle stalled after I stopped the car at a stoplight (city street). Before that (10 mins or so) it was loosing its acceleration power and the engine light came on. I had it towed and the repair place said it was a manufacturing defect and that I would have to have the whole engine replaced. There was a faulty timing chain component.

I started my car in my driveway, it started and then stalled immediately and would not start at all. I diagnosed it along with my friend who is a certified mechanic. The cam chain guides broke at less than 79000 miles, causing slack in the cam chain which caused it to jump teeth on the intake cam, throwing it out of synchronization. This caused the intake valves to be open when the piston reached the top of its travel, which bent the valves. This is a very common issue on the 2. 2 engines, but very unusual for such a low mileage vehicle. The engine has a 100,000 mile warranty but only for 5 years. I only drive on average 10,000 miles a year. The engine is well below 100,000 miles and gm will not admit that they have a design flaw on these engines and will not make this repair for me under warranty.

While driving on the street my car signaled reduced power, then engine disabled. Car slowed down to about 10 miles an hour, could not accelerate. Had to pull the car over, and turn the car off. Waited about five minutes and restarted my car. This happens about three times daily, and I was told by Chevrolet and gm that it's a common issue with Chevrolet Cobalts between the years 2005 and 2009 but this is not on recall. Today my car stalled five times and my bumper was hit by another car. I've been calling Chevrolet for the past two weeks and trying to see what can be done about my car as it is the only issue.

I have just recently bought a used 2005 chevy Cobalt. I was unaware of the recalls on it, until later. Now, I have a car payment and am unable to drive my car. I was on my way to town, on a paved two-lane highway, traveling around 55mph. When (for no reason) my car just quits/dies, as I am going up a hill. There were vehicles behind me that almost hit me. When it quit, I had to struggle to get my car to the side of the road. I could not get it completely off the road. I turned my hazard lights on and began trying to crank my car. It took more than 20mins. , to get it started back up, but, when it did, it was skipping so bad, I still could not move it. I turned it off and began trying to crank it, once more. It took another 15 minutes to get it to run well enough to pull the rest of the way off of the pavement. I was almost struck/hit many times by passing vehicles. This has happened to me 3 more times. Now, I can't even get my car to the end of my driveway before it quits/dies. The parts I need to fix my car have been ordered thru maxie price Chevrolet in loganville, GA since June 14, 2014. I was told it would only take 1-2 weeks for the parts to get to this car dealership, so they could be replaced. I have not heard from anyone about my parts and cannot get anyone to help me. I am not driving my car because it is just to dangerous. So now I am stuck with a car payment and a car that is unsafe to drive. I don't understand why it is taking so long to get parts and why someone won't help me. I was under the impression that a recall was top priority. Are there more problems that I am unaware of or is someone just stalling??? I need a car!!! how can I get a loaner until my car is fixed????.

I would like to start a petition for an investigation on the replacement parts being used for the ignition switch recall and the software they use to re-program or re-learn the computer in the vehicles that have been recalled. The reason I am requesting this is because my moms 2005 chevy Cobalt was taken in for this recall replacement and was running fine when we brought it in. Got a call that the car was ready to be picked up 7 hours later. A couple days later I'm driving the car around it started to run terrible. The car idled erratically and it would stall every time I stopped. Now the car starts and drives awhile but if I shut it off and then start it again the engine light starts blinking,it bogs down and have no power when I accelerate. I can smell gas but there are no leaks and I only smell the gas when the car starts to do this. I have been on the gm recall update website and have read about similar stories to mine saying there is a defect in the parts or there's a problem with the re-programing. I think one or both of these is the cause of my problem. So could you please look into this ASAP because it is a safety hazard. Thank you.

For months I have been having problems with my ignition switch, I have been calling every week to the cheverolet dealership closest to my home and each week they tell me to call back next week. Well this week my car finally died on me. Luckily I had parked and went into a store and when I came out the it would not start rather than stalling on the road. So I called the dealership and explained what my car had done and at that time they told me to call triple aaa and have them tow my car to the dealership. I was told that if it was my ignition switch it would be fixed and I could get a rental until the parts come in. Well needless to say I called the towing company (aaa) and my car was towed up there the next day when I called to check on it I was told that it was my starter and now I owe a hundred and two dollars towing fee and have to pay them over six hundred dollars to do the starter work. I could not afford this so now I'm out of more money to have my car towed away from there. I go and buy a starter that cost over two hundred dollars only to put it on and my car still don't work. I am so disappointed in this company and I am afraid of this car. I am not a mechanic and I am not sure what this ignition switch may or may not do if I continue to drive. I was under the impression that I could get a rental according to the news and I am yet to get anyone to even act as if they care. This is a plea for you to help me. I am a single mother of four, working two jobs and this is my only source of transportation. Please help me !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
