I have had the power steering pump recall fixed twice now on my car. Last time was October of 2020, and finally in January of 2021 it started acting up again. Normally I can drive it to wherever without too much issue, but that was not the case yesterday. I started my car before leaving for work, got in to leave and the power steering light was on. I attempted to drive it, as it is my only form of transportation, and did not get far. It jerked around violently, would not accelerate and then became hard to steer. After I let it sit all day and tried again, it still was acting up and the steering wheel would not move without excessive pressure, eventually would not even start after that try. I am at a loss and am furious as this is still an issue after being fixed twice.

2-3 weeks ago I got in my car to go somewhere. From the time I pulled out of my driveway my car was in limp mode. At the same time my check engine light, air bag light, power steering light, service traction light and theft light all came on. I got my car back to the house and when I shut it off it would not start back. Power steering light appears on dash randomly when going slow speeds and the power steering goes out. I have to turn off the car and turn it back on the get the power steering to come back on. This can often repeat itself several times. It has never occurred at high speeds, mostly occurs in parking lots when turning. I am aware of a recall from gm regarding this but my VIN says it does not apply. This doesn't make sense to me given my symptoms are the same as what the recall describes and my year model is affected (2010 chevy Cobalt).

Started my car in the parking lot of my dentist's office. The power steering light came on the dashboard and the steering wheel would not move left or right when attempting to back out of the parking space. Restarted the vehicle and light went off and steering functioned properly. Drove to independent auto repair shop, where I was told the electrical power steering motor was defective and needed to be replaced for about $1,100. Noticed a recall for this part on NHTSA website and drove to johnny londoff Chevrolet dealership, where I was told that the car was under the recall but that the part had been replaced in 2010 already by a dealership and was therefore closed. Returned to independent repair shop to have power steering motor replaced. I missed a day of work and the part will not come in for three days, so I will have to borrow a car to get to and from work this week. Will cost about $1100 to replace.
Vehicle was parked at a store I went to get in it and the power steering light came on it would not let me turn the wheel at all. I would like to know if the power steering has been recalled in my car.
